OK, so I found out I'm going to Anaheim on Monday to take the kids to Disneyland. Any pointers on how to best get tickets or other stuff to see while in the area (we'll be there about 6 days)? Should I buy them online or what? Not sure if I can sneak armor in my luggage or not, but my kids are 8, 10, and 14.

As a left handed shooter, I like it ;-) Then again in the movie though, it seems they are firing right handed all the time...maybe 'cause they want to mount it on the right thigh, and they're not exactly ejecting shells...

Well, not just the cost. The suits that are sold to the 501st only for now are incredibly time consuming to build. Just look at some of the build threads.

Mine didn't have a hard hat - it's padding, and you can adjust it.

Actually, maybe the one you did could be used to mold others? Or, do a 3-d scan so people can print parts?

Well, at least they are getting caught up. Finally got my replacement helmet and I hear other 501st are now getting kits. Still, I'm guessing they are focusing just on getting out what they promised, figuring out how to get it easily done in scale, and also to get teh ANH TK's going. I mean, NO TK's are *not* easy to make, so unless they find a way to create a kit that is as easy to put together as FX armor, the market may be limited.

Well, ANOVOS was supposed to ship by now too, eh? Nothing in people's hands. At this point it's all a guess. For ANH type armor I think the shortest lead times are MTK and perhaps AP. I don't have good data on RS & TM, though perhaps someone with better info can post here. I know MTK has been shipping in a few weeks. WTF is not fully vetted fwiw though early reports are OK. We'd really like to see a longer history on customer service & quality.

First figure out a budget and what they'll be used for. You can get a basic Surface3 pretty inexpensively. Just go to the MSFT store nowadays and there are some great deals. I like the Surfaces because I can use them as a tablet or a PC, and thus only have one device. Hook it up to a USB hub and I run multi-monitors, etc. Heck, I used an old Surface Pro (v1) in such a format for home for the past 3 years. And yes, I even used it for work if you can believe it. Nearly anything you get will be more than OK for what you describe. Chromebooks suck because you don't always have a network, and they can't run much mainstream software. Apples are great but super pricey. There are phenomenal Win laptops for any budget. My $.02, and no I don't work for MSFT. I'm just frugal.

Talking to the DO is a great first step. As noted the CRL is the canonical trooper, not representing costume flubs, etc.

The one from BattleFront is pretty cool. I saw a Biker Scout at Celebration with one once, very cool. Not canon for TK's, but at informal troops will look pretty nifty.
