Considering we have both the pistol & the F-11D, plus the other weapons from TFA, it seems a good idea.

Yes, it would. Heck, why not put some sound in there too
-
I do not like this at all. Too bad they are messing with it
-
+1 and I presume they'd fit the holster just fine...

I can't see it less than $2500 fully assembled. The kits alone were $1800 and then figure you'll pay say at least $10/hour for 40+ hours of labor, then figure the other stuff on top, plus them painting after assembly. I think $3950 using less expensive labor, but I could be very, very wrong. What are they charging for a complete ANH TK?

Where Can I Find Thew New Order Stormtrooper Gloves?
Daetrin replied to Cladius's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I have at least one pair of ANOVOS type gloves that you need to mod to get screen accurate, as above. Or, you can wait for Imperial Boots to take orders again. -

TFA Differences Noticed (possible spoilers ahead)
Daetrin replied to gmrhodes13's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Well, there we have it -
I agree with above - for this $$ I could buy a more accurate kit, get it built and put on a mannequin. Heck, probably two of them.

The LMO has said no, so any discussion is moot at this point. Move along folks...

I'd break it in to 2, as I think the new HWT will be different enough. That vest is not easy to do and you need the pack as well, plus pistol (if you use Jakku as the standard). Otherwise you have: 1. Base trooper. Accessories: F-11D (sling or no sling), pistol, or combi of tonfa + shield, may have pauldron (but then no riot gear). Matching specific accessory sets for EI/Centurion. 2. HWT: base trooper + vest. Accessories: F-11D OR BFG, pistol, pack. No pauldron. Matching specific accessory sets for EI/Centurion.

TFA viewings. Opinions on the movie? (Spoiler zone)
Daetrin replied to PGHtrooper21's topic in Off Topic
Han also was a huge character in EP7. He did a fabulous job and any EP8 story with him would drown out other characters, where the focus should be on them. Carie wasn't great, I could easily bear not seeing her on film again. This will really be Rey's story arc I think - in fact looking back despite the trailers leading up to it - I don't think Finn is Force conscious. Honestly, what stokes me are the stormtroopers - they are fantastic and we haven't seen them this aggressive and soldierly since ANH (well, there is ROTS if you include the NT). -
Facts: 1. In the beginning of the Legion, we used TK as Legion numbers, as it started out as all stormtroopers, and TK-421 was named in the film. Thus everyone was TK-something. This is many years ago. 2. SL's came in next, so at that point they were costume designators. 3. The Legion made up the costume designations for TB, TD, TS, TC. There is no basis for them at all, just wanting to start with T for trooper. 4. There is no 1:1 match of detachments and costume designations. SL is covered by 2 detachments, and IOC has 3 different costume designations. Blizzard Force also has TS & TB. 5. Even if we went with FN for FO stormtrooper, there is no need to make a new detachment to first to make the designation stand (see #4) 6. Even if a new detachment were created (for whatever reason, FO stormtroopers can still have a 501st TK costume designation (see #4) 7. If the 501st were consistent about costume designations, the FO stormtroopers would probably be called TF (trooper - first order) or FO (first order), not FN. 8. As noted, FN isn't something used across all FO stormtroopers, just one batch of them, weakening the logic of using FN as a costume designation even further In short, the chances of using FN is slim to zero, based on logic and reason.

The only one I saw was with the HWG on Jakku. I'll take a look next time I watch it - are there particular folks you remember?

TFA viewings. Opinions on the movie? (Spoiler zone)
Daetrin replied to PGHtrooper21's topic in Off Topic
Done. FWIW, I saw it again today and still enjoyed it. My 11 year old daughter is over the moon, and my wife who hates Star Wars can't stop talking about it. There are some strange plot points, but heck we pick apart *every* SW movie and keep seeing them. I can't wait to see it in 3-d next. -
Nice - can't wait to part with my money. It will make for some great prop references. Did anyone catch anyone with a pistol? I will watch again tonight, but don't recall any troopers with one in hand or thigh.

Thanks everyone! Appreciate all the feedback - this should be a fun trip.

TFA viewings. Opinions on the movie? (Spoiler zone)
Daetrin replied to PGHtrooper21's topic in Off Topic
Yup, this is all true, but even still I enjoyed the movie more than any movie except ANH. Yeah, some parts were strange but I can't wait to see it again. Haven't said that since 1980. -
TFA Differences Noticed (possible spoilers ahead)
Daetrin replied to gmrhodes13's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
Well, you posted the items I found after one viewing. Will try to find more tomorrow. Pauldron worn on left side in 2 frames that I counted. -
I did hear at least one TK reference. I totally missed R2-KT and Zuvio.
-
I'm guessing they'll keep TK for now. What if they do FN, and then in EP8 they are SP, LS, etc. for stormtroopers. Then FN won't mean much.
-
The reason was back in the day - like 10+ years ago - people just put stuff on and didn't care as much about accuracy. That is why you only see this on old profile pix. Bet every person is as you note, 3 digit TK's. If you want a pauldron, you have to: 1. Do a TFA TK 2. Do a Heavy Weapons Trooper 3. Do an Incinerator Trooper 4. Do a sandtrooper Otherwise, leave it at home ePS (unless you are at a con)
