  1. About frakkin' time!!! Congrats on becoming 501st! Now let see some pix man Say it with me - Elite statusssssss - Elite statussssssss sooooon I will upgrade to Elite statussssss.... j/k man - great to have you in the club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjIYLdalYeE
  2. A shame, but understandable. Can't wait to see how the AP turns out!
  3. Alex - this is my fault. I totally missed you when I updated the page. We're not used to getting so many applicants, but I guess we should now! Scott my man - you have your work cut out for you - three in the queue ;-) One more approval and we'll finally crack double digits!
  4. I don't see why not. I'm 6'0/180lbs and fit into TE2, which is comparable. No shimming at all - actually had to trim a bit. Take a look at my avatar to see the results.
  5. Why not share the info here
  6. It's against forum policy to post "Where do I buy armor" threads. We are not Wal-mart. People may from time to time post their personal armor in the For Sale part of this site, but otherwise there are no open areas for you to find and buy armor. That's not what this site is for. You can find plenty of information by browsing around and using the handy "Search" feature. There are many different kinds of armor. Take some time and educate yourself first. Also, it's a great idea to locate and contact your local garrison - http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.cfm - and get involved with other Imperial costumers in your area. Posts requesting where to buy armor will be deleted by the moderator team.
  7. I guess it depends on what you want the armor for. Fun? Mannequin? 501st status? I can tell you that Altmann's is not considered 501st acceptable in terms of accuracy, so you'd have to get a different make if that's your objective. That said, there are folks out there wearing it for their own enjoyment.
  8. Yeah, but after this everything else will be easy ;-)
  9. Eh, I *meant* to type in Philippine. =:-0
  10. That would be sweet! Me in TE2, Jim in AP, you in RT...pretty soon we'll brainwash the rest of the garrison. Muhwa-ha-ha (wrings hands in an evil Mr. Burns sort of way)
  11. FYI that FX is considered the lowest level of accuracy that considered 501st acceptable. At one time it was pretty good stuff, but over time other makes that are more accurate have become increasingly common and more easily available. That said, it's still the cheapest to buy, easiest to obtain, and simplest to put together.
  12. Possible. Most of the neck seal I've seen is crap, and only the trim I got from Stomper worked out well. $1.25/foot seems pretty reasonable, comparable to what I've paid for good stuff, esp. when you only need about what - 2' maybe 2.5' of the stuff? How many feet do you need for a minimum?
  13. Holy crap! That's beyond prop replica, and entering into prop forgery (in a good way).
  14. Tai bang le!! Way to set the pace for the Chinese Outpost
  15. It will be the first AP suit in GT - hopefully the results will encourage others to take the plunge
  16. 3 months? ::whistles:: that should be a one week process. Didja post on your garrison boards asking what's up?
  17. From hardest to simplest, I'd rate them this way: TE2 - has to be fully trimmed, painted, and the parts are asymmetrical. Also requires strips method on arms/legs. AP - same as above, but at least you don't have to paint RT - fully trimmed, parts are made to be easily assembled. But there is more adjusting due to split back FX - easiest. Can buy pre-assembled with strapping too SDS - comes pre-assembled with straps
  18. The hard part - at least was for me, was the legs and arms, which I admit I farmed out. Also, doing the base trimming is very time consuming. For me at least. Someone like Wyatt could wack it out in an hour ;-)
  19. Actually that's not me in the pix, but two other members of Bravo company. Lots of people stood on the way to the Parade, everyone sat on the way back.
  20. Making your own molds is not for the faint of heart. -----
  21. I have to say that's the coolest thing ever!
