  1. OK - everyone's up to date. Great to see so many new TKs!! Get some pix posted guys - can't wait to see your armor. Anthony - great action pix
  2. For some reason I like the EPII better than EPIII, though that doesn't mean I don't like EPIII. Just I like EPII better...
  3. Opening mine too. Everyone has an opinion, but in the end it's your own that will matter. The FX armor isn't such the issue though IMHO I do think the other suits look better. The helmet is what's the real sore point. My sandtrooper: FX + AP helmet My stormtrooper: TE2 with RT shins, TE2 helmet
  4. Agree with Kevin - today they'd be perfectly symmetrical. Actually some folks do prefer that look, and thus prefer RT or TM armor as it's closer to "what was intended" than "what was used on screen". They are two different goals, and one is not "better" than the other. Fortunately for us, both armor types exist.
  5. You can ask for AP's contact info. PM sent.
  6. You think that's bad? My daycare cost for two kids is more than my mortgage.
  7. It's just there for decoration. A real one is not required.
  8. You know, this is becoming a recurring theme. Guys - you should receive feedback on your application from your GML at the latest within a week. Any other correspondence should be turned around within a few days. If you're not getting a response from your garrison GML, kick it up to the garrison CO, as otherwise the GML is not do doing their jobs.
  9. Thanks everyone for the continued support! Last finance report I did was in August, and I'll get another statement done before year's end.
  10. It's a personal choice. I have a hard time going up & downstairs too. You can trim away more plastic to make it easier, but IMHO it won't look as good aesthetically.
  11. Dude - thanks so much for sharing! It's hard to keep up on CTN sometimes. This is fantastic work.
  12. Take a look at how much weight Brian put in his TE2: ------------ Still going strong after 2+ years of trooping, and Brian troops a lot.
  13. TD 5491, your tally checks out and your pass codes upgraded. Don't forget to report to the wash down area ya dirty trooper... ;-)
  14. Actually that's been my experience so far - it's certainly more prone to tearing at stress points than ABS. Triktoys - non-gloss HIPS armor is painted so I'd think if there was a yellowing issue it would be with the paint, no? Or does it yellow through the paint? Or do you mean the glossy HIPS? I haven't had mine long enough to find out, and figured I'd just repaint if it if ever got bad, but I'm curious to know what to expect.
  15. True enough, but how much resilience do you really need? We're talking about a costume, not an industrial application. Look, HIPS is not as resilient as ABS we all know that. But HIPS is certainly resilient enough for regular trooping. How else do you explain all of us with TE(2) armor trooping for years?
  16. Hey Aaron - where does the brittle bit come in? The reason I ask is that I have two TE2's and not had any issue with either of them at all. Jason - do some more research and if you can try to find one to look at in person. There are lots of TE(2) buckets being trooped in.
  17. Yeah. I have an AP too and can wear it for hours and hours w/o a problem. What are you weighing it down with?
  18. Would make a great tutorial/HOWTO if someone wants to take the minutes to create a thread.
  19. You know, that's a good idea Bernard. The TE2 also has the buttons as part of the mold, but it makes them harder to paint.
  20. Looks much better than mine =;-0 What did you end up using for the liner?
  21. Ditch the velcro and move to snaps Jim, else you risk becoming a "happy trooper".
  22. All TK armor has a solid ab plate, and it was one piece in the movies. People cut it as a mod. I wonder if it has to do with height? I cut it on my FX and it didn't make any difference. I left my TE2 alone (uncut), and don't really have this issue either. But for others it makes a noticeable difference - it seems it's quite individual.
  23. OK then, this should really go to a vote. There are some other details that can be tightened up at the same time. Scott M. - did you want to take the lead on this?
