  1. Awesome job!! It's great to see more folks in your area going Elite. You do the armor proud
  2. At some point, I wonder why AP just doesn't source aerators from Keith or Stomper directly, since most people upgrade them anyway?
  3. In reality there is no rhyme or reason - only what looked good to the guy painting the buckets at the time.
  4. Ah - trying to build armor with small children? Masochist! Mine are 4 & 20 mos. Too old to keep constrianed in a playpen, too young to let power tools laying around. Pix! Yes, they're a bear of time when you're already stretched with kids, but they're great to see when you have time.
  5. They are made by a known pedophile who had to flee to the Philippines to avoid arrest. Yes, there is an outstanding warrant out for him. Oh - and the quality looks flimsy too. Buy them if you have no morals.
  6. I think as soon as you get your 501st TKID give us a ping for Elite status. It came out really, really well. Some day you may decide to trim the shoulder bells up a bit, but that's a minor nit on a fantastic build and costume. You look totally ready to storm a ship
  7. I'll confess to not liking the look of the FX, but I have to say the work you're doing is pretty fantastic!
  8. Some scratching & scuffing is perfectly IMHO. But I have seen a one or two that start to border on sandtrooper territory It's all good - if it gets really bad you can buff stuff back out, repaint, or else just convert to TD and have an excuse to get new armor (the last is what I seem to do).
  9. Thanks for sharing! It's hard to make time to get over to The Prop Den, so great to see them here. Yeah, it's interesting to see an early unfinished version of the suit. Very glossy. Missing the classic sniper plate too, but you can see how they would want to make changes like that. Very cool of Mr. Muir to share.
  10. Or you can use black nomex flight gloves too. There are several people here who sell holsters that may be more accurate / better priced to boot.
  11. Only if you promise to go for Elite after I change your status. Dang - your armor is schweet!!!
  12. Actually you need to change passwords using passport, not the single detachment site. Only Greg can help you now
  13. Nothing that hasn't been said before - I'll reinforce though what Terrell said: outstanding trim job on the thighs (you'll look much better than most), and look in to the thread he posted for some good mods to the chest (which can also be done to the shoulder bells).
  14. I agree just make a silk purse out of a cows ear. The damage has been done - might as well make your suit looks good. Wear it until it falls apart, or when you do sell it just be honest. At least people will have a choice.
  15. I updated Thayne's title here & also updated the Elite page as well. Will have to think of something flashy later though - at the least I'd need a new picture to post.
  16. That would be quite the achievement. Unlike ESB/ANH where there are only a few differences (helmet, holster, hand guards, blaster - and even then you may be able to do double duty on the holster/blaster if you're smart about how you implement them), there is a much larger delta to ROTJ. E.g. you can do ANH/ESB Elite for not much extra time or money. ROTJ is almost a separate costume.
  17. I'm 100% TE2. I have an ANH Hero, ESB, and Sandtrooper. All need vox! So yeah, a lot of pennies to save.
  18. Skullworx is the only all-inclusive system I know of and installs in about 5 minutes. Quality is good and it's certainly convenient. That said, it's just a basic analog sound system that you could do yourself with a bit of time. The TCI is a great piece of kit and is pretty easy to install and doesn't take much effort esp. if you get Stomper's hovis with speakers installed. Of all the sound systems I've heard though, nothing but nothing beats the RomFx. They are *very* pricey given the exchange rate but if you want the best... For sizing, my garrison mate actually has his RomFx and battery boxes (double A no less) 100% self-contained in the helmet, so it can certainly be done. Actually I sold my helmet that had vox and so am currently vox-less actually until I can get a new RomFx. I think he's working on a bluetooth system, so am saving my pennies for magic to happen next year.
  19. Solid! Are you going to add the optional greeblies to the second blaster? They're not required - am just curious. I think you'll be the first ANH/ESB double Elite...
  20. To be honest about it I haven't given it much thought. How would you like it to work? Should we really count the costumes instead?
  21. Correct. It's on a per person basis, not per costume.
  22. All set - welcome to the TK jacuzzi, located just beyond the blast doors. You're now clear to apply for Elite status ;-)
  23. Heya whoever, how about reading the instructions on the first post of this thread?
  24. We're at 43 now - only need seven more to take the plunge or put the last finishing touches on their kit. I know several in my garrison are only a mod or two away, and I bet the same is true for people on this forum as well. So...which of you lads (and ladies!) is willing to take on the challenge? C'mon, you know you want to force Terrell to order another 50 gold coins ;-)
  25. Thanks guys - membership updated! Looking forward to your 501st applications soon
