  1. Q3 2009 Bill Haggis - see thread at http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8569 for reasons why.
  2. As there were no other nominations - the winner is...Bill Haggis! Congrats Billy
  3. Down to 17 - running out of weeks for the year.... Basically we need two troopers a week to make the goal - who's going to take the plunge next? I know a bunch are just a mod away...
  4. Most excellent! Terrell is now 4 profile pix behind. ;-) Great job trooper - you look fantastic!
  5. Post some pix soon? Haven't seen it ever in person & would like to see more than what was on his site.
  6. I hit a 70 hour work week yesterday and will work more this today. I have staff that worked 24 hours straight this week as well, and some are on their third set of 80 hour weeks. Is anyone else crunched at work lately?
  7. Please post more photos then guys - I wanna see what you're seeing
  8. Actually the 501st does have rights. We're OK to make armor for our own use. Secondly, even if the prop makers don't have any legal rights, we're people after all and should follow common human customs of honesty, transparency, and respect. And if TM spend hundreds of hours sculpting something, or OSCS or whomever - should we not respect their labors? I believe to say there are no rules in this community - is basically telling any prop maker that they are 100% on their own, and no one gives a crap about their hard work. I can't seem to find the morality or community in that. Thus, I do believe that there should be at least some common ground rules, and as we're all in the gray area it's up to us to define what those are. I believe we can and should support rules that encourage prop makers and prop making. So does everyone else, the crux seems to be getting consensus on what those are. Thus it comes down to our innate morality and ethics to decide what those should be. This forum, as part of the 501st Legion, and the 501st Legion as a whole, does have established guidelines. And, so do other areas of the prop making community outside of the 501st. Lastly, there are some communities that have no rules whatsoever. We are free men and women. We can choose which communities we like to participate in, and as a community who is part of that membership.
  9. And here I thought we were talking about Febreze... There's a lot of dross on that wiki - take it all with a grain of salt.
  10. Amazing! I want one bad
  11. And that's the nut of it Ed - these are *should have* for EIB but not required. We put them there so people can see where things are going and are there for educational purposes of how to go above and beyond, but for getting your EIB at least not a detail we look at.

What did you have in mind? (I think most people use Excel) for instance what features would it have?
  13. Nor is it acceptable for MEPD Police Officer. As noted it's pretty much losing steam as there are better, cheaper (or as cheap) alternatives.
  14. A great point, which is why we at FISD take care to differentiate between the two types. Part of the charter for this detachment is supporting and educating members so that they are not misled. Protecting them for less than reputable sellers is part of this process. Many of us got duped early in our 501st careers when information was harder to come by and more opaque. I see no reason for others to suffer like we did. Paying these kinds of "dues" helps no one, at least not any of our members.
  15. Not all. What about RT? FX? It's perfectly fine to break apart TE derived armor from others and focus on that. I would agree that by and large it is open season on TE derived armor, though I do believe there are still some exceptions that we have to honor. And in all things, regardless of whether it's TK armor or clone armor or even Vader helmets, we in leadership teams across the Legion should as part of our duty ensure that our membership is protected from dishonest sellers of all stripes, be they 501st members or not. Branding of sellers has occurred and if you look at who was banned, etc. in detail you'll note that it's not just about recasting per se, but connected to their behavior on the forums, how they treat members, etc. As for ABS CAP derived armor - well I'm sure it will sell well price / quality depending. ABS always seems to be preferred over HIPS all other things being equal, but by and large ABS armor costs more, is harder to find at the same quality bar from reputable sellers, and - for some - harder to trim than HIPS.
  16. You should separate 'recasting' as a whole from 'recasting TE armor' Mike, else the arguments get blurred. Are you saying that we as a community shouldn't give a rat's an impolite person if people recast TE2 or TM? C'mon now - you know that's not right either. Not all recasting is bad, not all is good. It's naive and self-deceiving to pretend otherwise. Also the list is not entirely accurate either. CAP recast parts from other makers aside from TE and there is a difference between CAP-1 and CAP-2. And for the love of god, let's please stop pretending that unlimited and unrestricted recasting is something to be admired, encouraged, and is healthy for the community, as it is NOT. If you believe otherwise, there's a good group of folks waiting for you on the DIY forums.
  17. Rock on. What's done is done and local laws are what they are. It could be worse - the Chinese Outpost can't even troop publicly w/o fear of arrest unless they get prior government approval. If you don't like the laws - work to change them. Let's move on folks - there's nothing new being posted in this thread.
  18. Done, as long as he remains reliable, honest, and the quality is 501st acceptable.
  19. Done! You can use dancing-trooper (with a colon at each end), or select it from the list.
  20. Too bad - his credibility is totally shucks for me now.
  21. Much depends on the thickness and quality of the pulls for HIPS. I just came back from taking my TE2 (which is HIPS) to China from Seattle, trooping the Great Wall, etc. w/no issues of any kind, and I wasn't too kind to the armor either
  22. It was yesterday - my query was for events that may come up in the future.
  23. The plan was for removable shoulder bell decals and perhaps later a patch. We got delayed on the current run of patches/tabs as there was a fire at the suppliers, so let's get through those first. Heck, perhaps it may come out as a lapel pin type of thing - I guess we'll poll at the right time and see what people would like.
  24. Kiyotei in my garrison also did this. Unless you're up close you can barely tell. IIRC he just did this in the back, not the tears.
