  1. I'd considered it in the tears and traps, as they'd just be small straight lines, and you could paint the insides black and put mesh in place which would make it nearly completely invisible. I don't think I'd try to mess with the tubes though. Those are rather large openings to cut and they'd be difficult to disguise. Further, the tears and traps are areas where we have issues with venting heat and condensation out of the bucket. I don't think that the tubes would provide any ventilation benefit with how close to the neck opening they are. Also, for the record, there are Troopers out there with the tears and traps cut as I described doing above, and they swear by the benefits of doing it.
  2. Congratulations Steve, err... TK-51500, Centurion #132!!!
  3. My friend says, they're like the dinosaurs, only they are doing themselves in much faster than they ever did. They'll make great pets.
  4. The Legion Council. It is all spelled out in the Legion Charter: http://www.501st.com/charter.php
  5. I'll admit that I'm a little confused as to how you're trying to build them. The shins should be a clamshell. They should have a cover strip on the front and back, but they are one piece in the front, and open in the back. The backside cover strip is attached to the outside piece of armor. There are a number of options when it comes to closing them, but the back should not be sealed shut during the assembly.
  6. Looking awesome Clamps!! One day, as my boys get bigger, I'm sure I'll be following in your footsteps here.
  7. No... They won't. I've told a few people the "ballpark" number, and they just look at me really weirdly.
  8. I wound up with some parts covered in painters tape for glue curing, too. Looking good!
  9. Looking great Christian!!
  10. This would be uncharted territory as far as I know. Garrisons are typically tied to geographic regions, and typically begin as outposts, and after they have 25 members they can apply to become a Garrison at which point they must have all the requirements of a Garrison met... A Command Staff, a logo, a website, etc. the Garrison will have a one year probationary period during which it must demonstrate that it can operate independently as a Garrison after which there will be a vote to determine what happens. It would definitely be an interesting proposal, and it would have to be uniquely built due to the Legion elections etc...
  11. I've tried that migration thing before too... Let's just say that the interwebz won that argument.
  12. Eric, just out of curiosity, how much more is that huge amount for improved performance? Are we talking double annually? Like I said... Mere curiosity. I know that the request for support this year seemed to go quite well, but I realize that support like that cannot be counted on year in and year out, since it is strictly voluntary. I've managed websites before and I'm nowhere near a pro at doing it so this is not an offer of assistance in that regard, because it probably wouldn't help any for me to be helping. I'm just saying that managing FISD cannot be a simple task. It is a monster of a forum, so kudos to those of you who are managing it and keeping it breathing day in and day out.
  13. Here's a picture of it: ---------- Honestly, while wearing it it makes no difference in comfort level. Based on feel, I don't even realize it is there. I've considered Vern's lanyard idea, but my speaker doesn't have a ready made hook on it, and this application using the Velcro works pretty good so far so I'm keeping that in mind for possible future use.
  14. Although I'm not done installing my similar three systems, I can tell you that I opted to only put the mic from my audio system in the helmet. The soundboard and speaker are mounted in my chest plate. Doing that, I believe that I'll have no issue running the EAS and my fan inside the bucket.
  15. Absolutely awesome!!! You had me at "Mom, that's my stormtrooper!" Oh... The feels.
  16. Here is the link to it online... Not sure if that will be of any help to you or not though: ----------
  17. I cheated. LoL. I found the Testor's gray in a spray can. Same color that Derek mentioned above, 1138, but in the spray can, it is 1238.
  18. Greetings Nikos, and welcome to the FISD!!!
  19. Looking good, Steve! Best of luck - though I don't believe you need it. You've put the work in and that shows, clearly.
  20. Typically, I look forward to reading the newsletter with much excitement each month. I can't wait to see what new info or tips come along, and which Troopers and events are highlighted. Today, while scrolling I chuckled a bit at the sight of one of my TK homemaker/apron pictures being included, and it was as I was chuckling that I realized where and why it was included. At that point in time, my mood shifted from mild amusement to bewildered astonishment. Thank you, for the honor of being named FISD Trooper of the Month! Aside from that making me love this issue even more, I still feel the need to thank the staff for a job well done on this one. Great interview by Evan, nice score buddy! Also, even though he's a dirty little boy, Scott is definitely worthy of recognition for his endeavors which I follow via Facebook daily. Great issue, greatly honored to be a part of it, and just for the fun of it; you should all strive to look as good in an apron and armor as both Eric and I do.
  21. You appear to have a couple of miniature feet stuck to either your shorts, or your knees. You've got the proper advice above already. Good luck!
  22. Got it. Yes, Deployed and SWAT are the MEPD equivalents of EIB and Centurion.
  23. From the pictures you've posted so far Ben, I'd say that the ears look great! Nice work. LoL... Your hands can take a bit of a beating during the TK build process. That's for sure.
