Whether or not you'd want to wear them as winter gloves would be entirely up to you, and depend on which ones you bought, but once you buy them, they're yours to do whatever you please. Given the construction of most gloves worn with any of the various TK costumes, I can't imagine that most of them would be of much use for wear as a winter glove, other than a wind break. They likely would not provide much protection from the cold.

January 2016 Newsletter - Blue Milk Special

Last approved Centurion that I see is #210. -
Clint, I'd love to think that Jim wasn't being recast, but the seller's listing says "these are made to order" and the fact that she/he admitted to him that it was a recast (Jim is from the Philippines) leads me to believe that the response to Jim is, unfortunately, more than likely accurate. Some people just don't have a strong set of ethics.

Brian, do you have a photobucket account (or one on another photo storag/sharing site)? I ask because posting the pictures in he manner at you're using right now, you're going to run out of storage very soon, and you'll no longer be able to post photos in the thread.

Other than that, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your progress!

January 2016 Newsletter - Blue Milk Special
Dark CMF replied to Holnave (evan_loh)'s topic in The Newsletter Archive
Beautiful work everyone! Love me some BMS! Great work, Evan!

Memoirs of a Stormtrooper will return next month with a very cool write-up, I promise you that! We simply had so much content lined up for this month, that we held it back for February. -
For the record, the Stormtroopers in the OT were not clones either. There may have been one or two of them hanging out somewhere, but by and large, the TKs in the OT were selected from the Imperial ranks to become Stormtroopers via academy training programs so they were likely just selected from a narrow set of height standards.

TFA troopers are very clearly different heights, throughout the movie, you can see this when they are standing or walking together, and by how the armor fits them differently. Many have no neck, many do. Some have very little overlap between the chest and ab plates, others have quite a bit.

Did you have to ask? Assuming three others haven't jumped all over this already, I'm interested. Yes. Amazing work, brother!

Sigh... While I'm happy to see that you didn't buy, and fully understand and embrace the value in supporting the vetted and recommended vendors who put in the work to create these armors, I'm dumbfounded and a little perplexed by the fact that members are referring you to the other guy. Keep doing your research, Sean, you're on the right track!

Gloves are irritating my hands.

Just a thought that occurred to me while reading through the thread, is that perhaps you've developed an allergy to the silk liners. Have you talked to a doctor about it yet? Very curious to hear if this has been resolved, and how. -
Who To Talk To About Replacement Helmet Decals
Dark CMF replied to SirDenzington89's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'd begin my search there. Trooperbay has many different decals designed to fit many of the common helmet makers. -
As Paul mentioned a bit earlier, there are only four First Order Stormtrooper armor kits that we've seenl so far. Three fan sculpts, and ANOVOS (which is not publicly available yet). Of the four, I am in agreement with Paul that the ANOVOS kit is the most accurate, even though a few of the sculpts are quite nice looking as well. I'd advise patience right now. Keep watching, and see which options come available during the course of 2016. I'm fairly confident that a year from now, there will be more than four options available in varying quality and price ranges.

A Rom/FX kit with the static burst mode turned off sounds pretty spot on as well.

Josh, this IS the 501st Legion. Within this section, you'll find this post: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/That will get you started in your research. Do some careful reading, as this is not an overnight process, it takes some time to gather the parts and supplies necessary to build a Stormtrooper to be approved as a member of the 501st Legion.

What's your opinion about this armor?
Dark CMF replied to Fyves's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Mathias does indeed remember correctly, as Corsair's Kids is the sales portal for Low Cost Armor (LCA) which is alleged to be a recast of ATA armor, and reported by some of our members to be poor quality in craftsmanship and appearance. -
No problem! Here's a link to the section: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/Spend some time there, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. We're here to help as best as we can!

Greetings Josh, and welcome to the FISD!!!
For starters, I'd steer clear of the website that you shared, and head to the section of the forums titled "Getting Started." That's where up you'll find all of the information that you need to begin your journey to becoming an Imperial Stormtrooper!

HOW TO: Modify your armor to walk 1,000 miles
Dark CMF replied to AsBlondeAsLuke's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Not at all sure how I missed this post, but I'm happy that i found it. Great piece of history there for sure, and it is awesome to get insights from a Trooper who has taken such a journey! Thank you, Diana (and Kevin)! -
They're handy to have around, but yeah... Unless you identify the need, wait on them. The Hangar 9 ones are what I have also. Found them in a package deal on www.smile.amazon.com for about $25.

Follow the link that Brian shared. Local help is definitely the best option if it is available. Makes things go a lot more smoothly in many cases.

Troopermaster ANH Stunt: WIP.
Dark CMF replied to millenium1's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
YES!!!!!! FINALLY, you're getting cleaned up! That is definitely some shiny white plastic, too. Can't wait to see the final result - I know it's going to be a Centurion build that will wow the crowd my friend! -
I'll echo what's been said... Your timeframe is very doable if you're prepared for the build. With my first TK build, I received my BBB on 10 June and was approved on 2 August. Good luck!

The pictures have not been uploaded to photobucket yet. Life has been crazy, and the armor is not completed.
