  1. They are pretty amazing..still haven't built them yet though Wyatt hahaha. Still scared too
  2. I also came around to "Perfect Match Automotive Paint" (Pure White). It can be found at Advanced AutoParts. It has a creamy look to it.
  3. The screen used armor was made to flex. Especially the yoke part.
  4. Anyone have a source on what USA based paint could be used for painting the TFA armor. So that it matches the TFA TK Anovos ABS bucket. I know rustoleum 2x that Anovos recommended is pretty close but not perfect. Does anyone hve experience with dupli-color automotive paint?
  5. Good Evening Troopers. Painting the TFA TK is coming up in a few weeks and I know we have touched based on Rustoleum. Especially it being the better paint to match the fiberglass helmet. But the question is..How does the paint hold to the plastic for a long period of time? Came across some complaints of the Rustoleum x2 cracking in the plastic as well a bad glossy finish. Not sure troopers are not putting enough paint on the armor or just a bad can. I've heard Krylon dries a lot faster than rustoleum, but it doesn't have that much gloss as rustoleum has. It is a tough decision. what would you go for? Rustoleum or Krylon Fusion. Would you recommend a clear coat? I have been researching these paints.... -Rustoleum x2 Gloss White -Rustoleum Universal Gloss White -Rustoleum Automotive Gloss White -Krylon Fusion Gloss White -Krylon Max Gloss White Hope this helps others troopers that are trying to find the best solution. (Note. Not getting professionally painted, don't have the funds)
  6. RAL 9010 is accurate color. Off-White is what to shoot for.
  7. 9010, paint both the Helmet and armor. But 9010 isn't found in the US so it's hard to find here
  8. RAL 9010. But the question is where to buy it in the US.
  9. I used Testors Paint thinner in a little glass bottle that you can get from Hobby Lobby. You could use a cotton swab as well.
  10. Greetings Troopers, Many of you might know I have been building my ANOVOS TFA TK build the last few months. And.....well now its about time to paint this bad boy. But before I do that. I would like to get some opinions/tips of what paint to use? How many coats of primer/Final Paint to put on? Dry Time? Right now where I live, its been 95 degrees plus everyday, sometimes in the 100s. I did some research and found that paint color (RAL 9010) is pretty close to the Film used TFAs. But the paint is only carried in the UK I believe. I did find some Rustoleum paint (Pure White) that looks like (RAL 9010) but everyone has been using the Rustoleum Gloss White 2x......Its a hard decision. If I roll with (RAL 9010) then I would have to paint the fiberglass helmet which Ive heard is stressful but can be mastered. Is it worth it to paint both helmet and armor? Picked up a can of primer yesterday to spray test some parts to see if any pesky putty holes show up, as well 800 Grit Sand Paper to sand down slightly to cover the holes. Really Nervous......Need your tips Troopers. (NOTE. I have 400 Grit paper to prep before painting)
  11. Today I was trimming outside and I noticed that the return edge of the chest was weird, went back to look at some pics. Saw that I took too much return edge off on the chest :/ Is there a solution to this?
  12. Rough Trimming is COMPLETE. Now to turn on the Belt-Sander....
  13. The ANOVOS Kit has arrived! Let the sleepless nights begin!!!! I received the (Tetris Box of Skills) aka Armor body parts, and my car mats, known as Gaskets. I have done a slight glance of the armor, there are a few bad pulls....But not stopping me! Im going to get down to business and repair them down the road. As many don't know, Im a popcorn slayer at Regal Cinemas, so I've decided to start trimming first thing Monday Morning. As the weekends are the busiest days in the Theater Business Hand mouse sander, as well belt sander ready to go as many troopers have recommended when trimming. I hope this build will help future troopers as well TFA plastic addicts. May The Snoke Be With Me. Enjoy Everyone Cobra sniffing the "MarshMellow" Scented Gaskets. Lol. ABS Fever!
