  1. I would totally save for one of these to get from him, but the CRL for my TFU Shadow doesn't include it! I don't understand why the TFU commander and incinerator can carry this but the shadow can't...
  2. How did you get access to these models? Did you rip them from the game somehow, or did you find them online? I can't find hi-res pictures of the Shadow Stormtrooper model (the one with the blue LED lights). I've been searching everywhere!
  3. Hey all. I figured I'd throw up this thread to document this project I'll be working on. The CRL is incomplete, but I plan to help out by taking detailed pictures of each of my components by the end of this build. http://databank.501st.com/databank/TX_-_Shadow_Stormtrooper_TFU I don't yet have armor in hand, but I'm narrowing down where I'm going to be sourcing that. I will be needing some transparent parts (shoulder bells, forearms, TD tube, and shins) and I know for sure that WTF has formed some clear helmets this past December (which look pretty damn cool). Just waiting for an update on their clear plastic shipment. For the rest of the suit I'm leaning towards Scootch for his HIPS CAP-W kit, which I've had an easier time getting paint to stick to in my past experiences. For lighting, I'll be going with some USB powered LED strips I can connect to smartphone battery banks velcro'd to the insides of my helmet and armor. Something like this is what I had in mind: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYZNELB/ref=asc_df_B01MYZNELB5355542/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=395033&creativeASIN=B01MYZNELB&linkCode=df0&hvadid=196263297506&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9123624230968478534&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1019105&hvtargid=pla-314779905744 (edited post to remove Black Series helmet. Replacing with RS)
  4. You will want Imperial Boots if you can get ahold of them. I believe WTF sent them a sample of his red plastic so that they could get an exact color match.
  5. I have purchased some 1.5 mm ROTJ stuff from TM in the past. Amazing detail and superb customer service. I always recommend TM as an option for those who look for ROTJ
  6. Although I'd like to save some money, I might trust my expensive camera more with something that has the GoPro logo on it! I've read some shaky reviews of a few off-brand mounts that are steering me away.
  7. I got a couple of these recently. They work great once you cut the eye holes to make one big hole for your eyes and nose.
  8. Good answers, folks. Thank you all very much! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
  9. I was doing some digging around and found a few threads, but I didn't find a definite answer on exactly which mount to use to attach my new camera to my blaster. Anyone have any ideas?
  10. It's about time I add this Spec Ops costume to my roster! Here is my finished Magma Trooper, about to be submitted to my GML for review.
  11. Sorry to hear about this. Hoping for a happy ending!
  12. #6: Woburn Halloween Parade - Woburn, MA 10/30/16 What an event this was. We had over 80 costumers and handlers signed up for this 2.2 mile parade through downtown Woburn. There was a strong presence of white armor, which was well-received by the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, it was mostly families and young kids who were prettyyyy excited, but respectfully kept their distance most of the time. There was one incident that was handled well by our excellent wranglers, but that didn't stop us! Myself and Joe were the Death Troopers in the back. I'm gonna gloat a little and say we probably got the best reactions from the crowd. The next four pictures were found on Facebook and do not belong to me. Look at their faces!!
  13. #5: Movie at the Ballpark - Canton, ME 8/27/16 I teamed up with Wampa Clan to entertain attendees at the outdoor screening of TFA at the ballpark in Canton. I would have worn a different costume if I had one, but the kids were pretty into this! We spent most of our time passing the frisbee, playing kickball, and lightsaber dueling until the movie started. Fun, small-town troop which I hope to see again next year. 1189757939340281541_n 4535298057148993333_o 8656725413131932985_n 6984749256279988902_n
  14. Definitely picking up at least a couple of these. Planning to fill in the tube stripe slits and tear vents to make it into a passable ANH helmet. Hopefully it's close enough in size.
  15. #4: Great Falls Balloon Festival - Lewiston, ME 8/19/16 My fourth troop brought me to Lewiston for the yearly balloon festival. We got to witness the arrival of Belgium's Yoda hot air balloon, as well as the launch of the Vader! We heard that the folks behind the making of the balloons are Belgian 501st members, who happened to be there. They were pretty busy so we didn't really get to chat. The summer heat was unforgiving, but fortunately we had a tent in which we could cool down and re-hydrate. Everywhere we went, fans followed. We couldn't take more than a couple steps in any direction without a photo request or a high five from a young fan. This was a fun troop and I plan to go next year for sure! 16. This is incredible! Extremely jealous of whomever this kit is going to.
  17. Before I had my first job, I was just a step above mute. Nowadays, I'm much more outgoing, but still not exactly the first one to jump into a crowd of people and become part of the conversation. Even with the helmet on, I tend to step back and let the vets soak up the spotlight. Maybe that will change as I get more troops in.
  18. There is currently no CRL for this costume, but it would be wise to look over the ROTJ requirements and follow the Battlefront Shock Trooper discussion. I'm interested to see how you approach your building of the backpack and helmet respirator. I believe I've seen one who built a respectable-looking respirator, but the base armor wasn't up to ROTJ standards. I wish I knew who that was so I could get you in contact with him/her. Good luck
  19. #3: Star Wars Night on Hadlock Field - Portland, ME 8/6/16 My third troop as a Death Trooper brought me to the ballpark in Portland for Star Wars Night. The heat was intense, my velcro popped off a few times, but it was worth it to see smiles on every kid and adult who passed by us. What was most surprising to me, was that not a *single* young child was upset by my gruesome-looking trooper. At once point, 6 or 7 preschool aged kids swarmed me with a group hug. As soon as I can find footage of myself and Obi-Wan hauling Slugger off the field, I'll post it up. For now, here's a group picture taken from the Portland Sea Dogs' Twitter page. I'll update the post as I find more pictures. Found a short news clip with the Death Trooper shamble! http://www.wmtw.com/sports/sea-dogs-use-the-force-on-star-wars-night/41087196 Troopers in attendance: SolidScrafty, TK-80494 Outer Rim Tim, TK-44221 Brian J., SL-1077 BostonTrooper, TS-1884 GreenHell, IC-18181 Not sure who the clean TK was - if anyone knows him, leave a comment!
  20. This is the Facebook page for The Trooping Dead. It mainly showcases the Death Troopers of the New England Garrison and our events, but Death Troopers from other garrisons are also welcomed on the page. https://www.facebook.com/TroopingDead/?fref=ts
  21. Hey all! I'll be using this thread to keep track of my events as a Death Trooper in the 501st New England Garrison. Feel free to follow along.
  22. I feel like we should call our DTs "Zombie Troopers" from now on. There's no official piece of reference that calls them Zombie Troopers, but it would make sense to change the name in the CRL database to avoid confusion. When someone says Death Trooper, I always think of the zombie and not the shiny black trooper from RO.
  23. This brings back memories! If you offered this as a kit sometime in the future, you could consider me a buyer.
  24. As ugly as this armor is, I would be more than happy to make a project out of it if the price was cheap. Too bad they charge more than some of the best makers around here. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk
