  1. Agreed - looks good. Question - can you change out the blue light for red?
  2. Have you tried asking the question over at the MEPD? We get a lot of crossflow between the FISD & MEPD, but I would think they would be the most direct source for the info you seek. I've heard good things about the SethB pauldron, but I also hear he isn't making them anymore. Perhaps you could pick up a used pauldron. Again, the MEPD would be the best place to ask. I see this is your first post. Would you mind posting an introduction in the New Member Introductions section?
  3. Acetone - essentially nail polish remover - will damage the ABS. Since RT Mod assembly (like FX and AM) doesn't require joining strips, it might be best just to glue them on top of the overlapping joint.
  4. I'm no expert on these things, but that looks to me like recast FX. Personally, I'd stay away.
  5. Yep - which reminds me that I still need to install my D-ring on my hyperfirm.
  6. (1) Hengstler counter (2) power cylinders (3) wires ANH blaster has them - ESB blaster does not.
  7. I'll bet that's the New England Garrison - one of their major annual troops is the Boston St. Patrick's Day parade.
  8. I'd been looking for an orange pauldron for my HWT - thanks for the find! Isn't this the same guy who does TKBoots?
  9. Another option is using elastic to create stirrups. Take a piece of elastic of appropriate length and glue each end to the inside of the shin, forming a loop. When you put on the shin piece, wrap the elastic under the arch of your foot, then put on the boot.
  10. His website is publicly available, you can grab his email address from there. He pulls his armor/helmets in 0.80 ABS, similar to what AP is made of. www.rt-mod.com
  11. Do take lots of photos with you and the Pacific Outpost crew.
  12. Wow - who would've thought one could do so much with a Hasbro? Can't wait to see the finished product.
  13. Lay off the personal attacks - that means EVERYONE. As I stated earlier, this thread exists strictly to discuss the moulds up for auction on ebay. If it further degenerates into something else, the thread will be locked and/or deleted.
  14. I love it! Your'e a great Dad.
  15. That sounds like a lot of fun - I hope they do it this year at C5.
  16. Excellent vid, thanks Paul. A few lessons can be learned here: 1. NEVER GIVE UP - even in the face of overwhelming odds, a way can be found 2. THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS - "We" will always be stronger than "me". Even the lioness group knew this to be true 3. NEVER LEAVE A BUDDY BEHIND - 'Nuff said.
  17. I'd agree with Daniel - leave some return edge. It gives the illusion of thickness to the armor, adding to the realism.
  18. Looks real nice - those mods are definitely going on my to-do-list.
  19. I know what the number "pi" is, but as far as "Pi Day" goes I had to look it up. March 14th (3.14) - of course! Yeah, the time change itself sucks, although the upside is more daylight in the late evening hours especially if you live in the far northern/southern latitudes (I used to live in northern Montana, in the middle of summer it wouldn't get dark until 10pm or so).
  20. I'm in the same boat, eventually I'm going to clear out all the junk I haven't even thought of in years and convert it into a bonafide workshop. As for suggested items: - Lots of light (I use high-efficiency florescent bulbs) - Heat source (you'll of course be spending LOTS of time in there and Ontario sounds cold, might as well make it comfortable) - Mini-fridge (like I said, you'll be spending a lot of time in your workshop) - A storable work table, I figure a 6' x 3' folding card table or something similar would do the trick. Good for laying out your TK or other in-progress costumes - Clothes rack for TK undergarments and soft costumes (you can build one out of PVC pipe sections) - Organized tools & supplies storage area (nothing more frustrating than not being able to find the right tool or part, especially when you KNOW you have it around somewhere) - A wall or bulletin board to hang reference photos - A computer, or at least somewhere safe to plug in your laptop - Music player Definitely take progress photos, I'll be looking for some inspiration.
  21. I have an RT Mod, and the match is near-perfect. The fact that both are made out of high-grade ABS helps with the color match IMO.
  22. I'm going to lean forward a bit on this one . . . Please do not turn this thread into another "let's bash TE" experience - whether he deserves it or not. We're all aware of his past (and some would say current) business practices, and relationship with the FISD and it's membership. If you wish to discuss the molds up for auction, fine. But let's refrain from any personal score-settling. Thanks for your understanding. As always, the staff will be watching . . . <_<
  23. I have a set as well and I'm also a bit anxious about correctly drilling the holes. Paul, is it possible to put up a couple of photos showing exactly where the holes should be drilled?
