  1. Look in the Ongoing Sales and Project Orders section of the forum for VaderDave's ab buttons - it's a pinned topic. THey work perfectly for the FX kit.
  2. You'll need to ensure the red writing on the wrist strap can't be seen while in costume. Other than that, they seem fine for 501st acceptance.
  3. You can borrow mine. Send me a PM here or on the Tyranus board & we'll make it happen.
  4. The helmet that comes with the full AM kit is the same as the old FX helmet, except the dome is more rounded. A full helmet rework is on AM's to-do list, but I haven't heard any estimated completion date. Better off going with an AM Lite, and picking up a different helmet.
  5. Some kits are inherently more accurate than others, but just about any kit can be made EIB-worthy with the proper mods and (especially in the case of FX) choice of helmet, so that certainly shouldn't dissuade you from getting an AM kit if you are considering it.
  6. As far as holsters so, you just need to do a few minutes worth of forum searching: ---------
  7. The best way to go is to use a trusted handler to carry your stuff. Barring that, I try to keep as many of my personal items - wallet, iPhone, etc. - in my locked car (or hotel room if I'm away from home at a con) as possible. Basically in costume I try to limit myself to my keys (car or hotel room), and those I keep in my hollowed-out thermal detonator.
  8. Can you tighten up the shins a bit - especially around the ankles? The way you have them now it looks like you have chunky ankles.
  9. What a great ending to a disasterous story! I certainly hope the main Legion picks this up for the next podcast.
  10. Mac geek! Umm, I mean, congrats Julie! Due to my work needs I'm more of a PC guy (I own a netbook and desktop-replacement laptop along with my work-issued laptop), but I absolutely love my iPhone 3GS - I've only had it a few months but it's become my constant companion and I can't remember how I survived without it. Yeah, the iPad seems like a giant iPod Touch. Other than the cool factor that comes with being one of the first kids on your block with the newest Apple gizmo, I don't really see the need for it - yet.
  11. Use a medium gray flat, specifically Testors 1138. If you can get it in Quebec (it's available in the States - don't know about Canada), it's available for purchase online or at a hobby shop that specializes in model airplanes, trains, etc. Humbrol #5 is popular with Europe-based troopers, but I've heard some non-favorable reviews regarding the Humbrol #5 available in the States.
  12. I love the last photo!
  13. There are at least 2 RT-Mod build threads with photos, you just need to do a bit of work with the search feature. Also, look here:------------
  14. Got a buyer yet? If not, color me interested. Two questions: 1. How much does it weigh? 2. What kind of price are you looking for? One request - can you post a movie showing the blaster effects in daylight and/or a lit room?
  15. Resistance is futile . . .
  16. Excellent work. Yeah, we need to find you a grappling hook & box.
  17. I got mine from Amazon.com. Just do a search for "hobby iron". Or look here: http://www.amazon.com/Hangar-9-Sealing-Iron/dp/B0006N6Y0Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1269911352&sr=8-2
  18. I couldn't said it better myself. Thanks, Lennaert.
  19. I don't care for the pink wig - a bit over the top. Otherwise, looking good as always.
  20. Again, I'm amazed at what can be done with a Hasbro with some work, determination, and creativity. Excellent job, Juan.
  21. FX - like AM - is made of 0.090 ABS. Real thick, sturdy plastic. I've never heard of anyone nor can I imagine being able to see through it. If someone posted about being able to see through FX then I suspect what they got wasn't actually FX but a flimsy FX recast - and there ARE some of those out there.
  22. This is just what I came up with in 60 seconds: 1. Part of a global organization - literally! 2. Everyone in the 501st has at least one thing in common - an undying love of Star Wars. No one's going to kick sand in your face for being a costume nerd here 3. Being able to own an absolutely kick-butt costume - and wear it a lot more than just once a year at Halloween 4. Being able to serve your community and do good things in a totally unique way - this ain't some run-of-the-mill charitable organization 5. You get to live out a childhood fantasy and share it with others There are many, many more and each individual has their own reasons. Personally, I love this group and wish I'd found the 501st years ago (been a member for less than 2 years). Oh yeah, one more - chicks dig armor: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=7261 http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8874
  23. Congratulations - and great looking suit!
