  1. Same as Steve mentioned, I bought one of those EZ -coils a year back and removed the metal tab part . I test fitted it in the Ikea pipe has the same inner diameter as a sterling receiver& it fit well. The coil action is rather soft so it won't pop the rear cap off or anything. There is enough length too to display 11 coils (, think it has about 13 coils after I cut off the metal tab that is welded to each end). There are some made to order spring places here in Japan. I can contact them for you with the size needed and see what the cost will be. Probably pricey but worth the try. I tried making a spring for my doopy build but it never looks quite right in the tube. I quickly notice how off the spacing is. Found a 22mm diameter spring but it jut comes up a bit short. Never an easy answer with this stuff.
  2. Looks awesome. I didn't think they sold these anymore. How much do they cost? Congrats!
  3. I have never built one yet but looks great to me. Super job drilling it out and getting it together. Envious!
  4. Fantastic Bennett! The real deal. Out of this world. Just need to brush up on your Bocce and then your set! Congratulations!
  5. Wow Ian, great progress! Looking killer! The counter bracket design is very clever and looks like it will definitely keep that counter in place. I might give the thinner scope rail a try based on your findings. I have a piece of 2mm thick aluminium but it looks chunky. I prefer the look you have with yours.
  6. Very cool Ash! Looks great for a 3D printed/casted blaster. The details are really sharp. I don't know much about 3D printing but that grip looks amazing. That's really made from a printed grip? Just imagine, maybe in the near future someone can pay you, you send the data to the customers designated 3d printer and they get a printed parts kit to instantly print out and build. Well done!
  7. Great work on the scope rail. I have been putting that off but you got in nailed really quickly.might have a go this weekend if I get time. Keep up the great work!
  8. Love the photos. It actually looks quite natural to have a TK lid on no matter what the occasion.
  9. Impressive work patching up the ears. Very brave for trying it and its looking good.
  10. Best of luck on the podcast! Your awesome prop builds speak for themselves.... Stealing a quote from Master Yoda, "No more training, do you require. Already know you that which you need."
  11. Sick! Now that's precision work. Great to see you are back in the shop. Happy 2015!
  12. Cool detective work Andy. I am still disappointed that MNS is not considered canon. I would have thought that if its on screen, its legit regardless of mistake or not. Just a curious, but is there definitive proof that this was a prop mistake? I can assume it was by the continuity of the other TK helmets seen on screen but I never read anywhere or heard from an original prop member/cast member that MNS was a mistake. I haven't read everything out there so please do point me any evidence if so. Sorry just had ask.
  13. Impressive how fast you have been able to get your build underway and with some nice mods. Looking forward to seeing your blaster progress! Awesome start!
  14. Tino, beautiful job on the armor. Outstanding!
  15. Sorry Ian. For the past few weeks i had a chronic cold combined with work. I just got back to some small detail work this week but can't upload pics from my ipad. Photobucket won't work using my house WiFi using my ipad. Hope to post something soon when I get hold of a PC.
  16. Front sight guard pattern.....beautiful! Working some more magic into this build. The inner barrel looks awesome too. Using the large washers to position it is brilliant. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
  17. Super job and love your speed getting it one. Is that an e-11pipe build with doopy part? Looks great so far .
  18. Wow! That's cool! Better yet, that's hot! Fantastic work! Like your mp40 shoulder ammo pouches too. Where did you get those?
  19. It's great you just got started right away. Wish I had done that. Looking very good, best of luck on your build!
  20. Super start. That's goint to be one mean rebel killing machine when it's done.
  21. You got my vote on the vice grips, looks the best. Nice find.
  22. Yes Ian, you are correct about the pattern being more like tiny square indents. I didm' like how mine came out with the file but I haven't found anything yet to match that pattern exactly. Good thinking about the saw handle. I will check mine tonight. That maybe just the answer!
  23. I think Ian nailed it on the head, power cylinders and the rear lug? Or you could be throwing us a curve ball on this. Too many surprises before Christmas! Ian, if you have a file with the lines going in only one direction, you could try repositioning the lines at the opposite angle and make the lines cross hatch. That might have better results. Ir just freehand impressing the lines in yourself.
  24. Welcome Ash! Nice looking armor! Happy trooping!
