Bluetooth speaker as bolt
Bulldog44 replied to charlesnarles's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Interesting idea. Hope to see you try this. Could be a great new way to reduce all those wires and stuff in the blaster. -
Hi Magnus. No shame in asking. We all need to start somewhere and its a but overwhelming at first, information overload!
You can buy a resin kit from Doopydoos or a fully built one from them. DDay also sells resin kits which are the best out there in detail. He sometimes has some fully built ones for sale in the Sales threads. Hyperfirm ( wont ship internationally ) and THG Props both produce rubber blasters. THG also sells resin kits too.

Price, time frame, desire to build one or ready in hand, blaster material are all the factors you need to think about. If you are looking to apply for EIB or Centurion status , stay away from hasbro, rubies or other blasters that require major modifications.

Hope that helps you with a starting point. There are certainly more options out there , just keep looking at a the sakes threads from time to time. Good luck!

Beautiful work on your blaster. You should be very proud of it. Amazing craftsmanship on all the details. Congrats! Always great to see a cool blaster build build with groundbreaking results! -
I will give that a try!

I have RS PVC but bought in 2012. They seemed to switch to a more rigid PVC since. I ordered replacement parts and the white color didn't match up as it should have and it seemed a bit more rigid to cut. The original PVC kit I have was very thin but also very flexible. Only cracked at the neck so far where I had too much of a return edge . I had it stored on a hanger and the stress on that area caused the crack. My fault for not providing proper storage. The PVC is certainly brighter than the ABS so I think if you want something with that stands out, go with the PVC. If you are the type of person who wants to go all screen accurate , certainly ABS. I think they both are prone to crack one way or another . You will be using it for trooping and there is always a risk of some wear and tear. I went through the same confusion about what to buy. Either one will be great. Repairs, from what I have read and heard are easier with ABS. I have been carerful with my armor at the few troops I went on so far and it has held up well. Hope that helps.

Looks great. Was hoping for a more dramatic musical ending, seemed a bit tame & muted at the end. But that is just my opinion about trailer editing not the movie itself. Overall, movie looks interesting, loads of Stormtroopers! Lots to soak in.

If you need some PVC chunks to have a go, PM me and I can mail you some. Wood should be fine, probably easier to cut and sand to shape. It is a tiny part and getting it to accurate size can be tricky. Post pics of your progress if you get a chance! Good luck.

Gazmosis Retiring - Please stand by on EIB/Centurion Approvals

Thank you Steve for all your time and expertise. Wish I had applied for EIB sooner. Hope to see you around still. All the best. -
Thinking about it but my place in Japan is tiny. Maybe I can make a half mannequin with no arms or legs to fit in the closet space I have . Thanks for sharing!

I have an RS TK with the original strapping system installed. Due to space limitations I can't store my armor in one of those nice large tool boxes or storage bins. Instead I have the main body armor hanging in my closet inside a large laundry bag. Because the original strapping system doesn't lend for breaking down the armor into easy to store parts , I am stuck with keeping it in the closet. I had it on a hanger but found that it out stress on the neck area and it started to crack. Now the bottom of the butt plate and AB plate take the weight and worried they will also crack if left for a prolonged time.

I also tried storing it in a suitcase but felt it was a tight squeeze and would also damage it over time.

Does anyone have a good way to store their armor besides using the large bins or me having to suspend my armor in a laundry bag?

Sweet! Looks ready for trooping.

Cool new counter!

Love the tiny screws you added to the scope. A detail that brings your scope another step closer to the real thing. I might have ago and try adding those on my next resin scope. Thanks for sharing your idea! -
Stunning work! Can't wait to see this printed and ready to rock!

Custom E-11 Carrying Case
Bulldog44 replied to Machinimax's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Great custom work on your case! I like how you have the magazine packed separately. I am sure it is to reduce the width of the case but it looks like your are packed and ready for combat! -
Very cool James! Thanks for sharing your work on this. Wish I had your skills! Looking forward to seeing this progress.

Looking awesome! I like the new TFA F-11D blasters but just seeing E-11 kits being assembled, like yours, is always exciting. Can't beat that real-world weapon look! Keep up the great work!

Not at all. Do what your gut tells you about putting together armor. If you feel there is a risk you will be unhappy with the results, by all means have someone with experience do it for you. I built my RS kit and although I managed to finish it, I had a lot of problems along the way that ended up costing me extra.

Ideally if you are going to have it commissioned, have very accurate measurements of your body size and lots of good communication with the person building it for you. This way there will be fewer adjustments upon completion. Its even better if the person building it for you is local so each part can be pre-fit before its all glued together.

It was fun and rewarding to build my armor but It took me a long time to complete and that meant missing many great trooping events. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Resin cast Sterling barrel and bolt spring cup
Bulldog44 replied to usaeatt2's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Thanks Derrek for the casting advice. That sounds like a better idea using the two part mold. Sorry Aaron, topic hijacked.

Back to your topic Aaron.......... Best of luck with the work shifts. Sounds rough. Looking forward to seeing the different castings with the colors and metal mixtures.

The stock would be another area I would love to see In a kit form. Casting that in parts would be difficult I guess but just for detail alone it would be great. -

What type of resin are you using? I would love to see if you can make a magazine clip somewhat hollowed out.
Have you looked into slush casting? -

Jaw-dropping results. Awesome work Aaron! You certainly have Jedi Master skills to tackle any project. Sorry I should say Dark Force skills! That bolt spring cup will be a game changer! If there ever becomes a list to sign up to buy your Imperial contraband, I'm on it!
