  1. Looking great Karin...Can't wait to see all the hard work come to fruition....you certainly deserve it !!!
  2. Amazing work, Looks like you'll have a steady market if you decide to sell these as a kit, I know I'll want one...Buona Fortuna !!!
  3. Definitely interested in this kit when ready...always willing and proud to buy American....
  4. Hi Karin, received my handguards today after ordering them on the 14th October...took approx 4 weeks to get to the US...just so everyone out there knows.....
  5. Thanks Ingrid...Now I can turn in and go to sleep ...LMK if I can help ....
  6. Jesse, I've completed my helmet, body pieces and upper arms and am working on my forearms right now so I have gained knowledge on this area of the build ....I haven't started on thighs or shins so not much of a help in that area ....but I live in Garden Grove/Stanton area....Although this is my first build, I'd be happy to show you where I am with my work so far or you can voice your concerns here....Might be time for another Armor party....try contacting Lady in White on the forums here also....she is a great help !!!
  7. Being a greasy Italian that moved here from Australia about 10 years ago myself, I've always used the blue painters tape/masking tape from Home Depot....Throw that Frog junk away !!!
  8. Thanks Karin, Incidentally do you know roughly what the wait time is usually when shipping to the USA ? Does 3-4 weeks sound about right ??? Just so you don't get a flood of anxiety from curious customers ?
  9. It would be really cool if they made the tread underneath the pattern of the Imperial Cog !!!!!
  10. I will be attempting to modify the drop boxes on my ammo belt so although they look canon on the outside, the plan is to use them for storage on the inside...not a lot of storage I know but should be enough for ID, credit cards, cash, even a cell phone if it's small enough (as long as it's turned off or silenced)...there aren't many empty pockets in stormtrooper armor but there is the thermal detonator and drop boxes to consider for storing things.. There is a gentlemen (his name is Keith...kwdesigns2@verizon.net) who makes inner drop boxes for AP style armor...so with an inner and an outer I'm sure a creative person can construct something with these drop boxes to be a rudimentary storage device to hold what are essentials for some folk. There are a lot of creative people on this site which is important so challenges such as this can be worked out.....if I can create a drop box storage device I'll post my solution for all to benefit from...it could be a little while though with the year winding up there is so little time.....
  11. I saw you there...Well done navigating around that endlessly huge crowd !!! ...Gave me inspiration to hurry up and finish my armor....
  12. You can use wooden toothpicks for any part of the armor that requires paint...they work like magic to remove stray paint and make the edges of whatever you paint look sharper....just be gentle and don't push too hard because being wood they will start to feather out and lose their point...
  13. If you live in the USA, try a Lowe's Hardware...they sell a white hard hat for around $6-7 that has an adjustable slider instead of the knob and once you cut the crown off and leave the rim (cutting the lip around the edge off of course) will fit inside your AP helmet. I cut the back so it is not a continuous rim which will allow for adjustment inside your helmet and then use double stick tape to secure it in...You have some level of adjustment with double stick tape and when you have it where you want it, press hard and it will secure it...if you want further secureness to it you can carefully squirt a bead of pure silicone all around the edge and leave it for 24 hours and then it will not move. With no foam inside the helmet you will get some air circulation inside the helmet which foam does not provide.....I can try and upload pictures if anyone needs a visual.....
  14. I haven't had any problems using the pliers except you do need a strong grip to squeeze down on the handles whereas using a mallet just means you have to hold the punch tool straight !!! The punch tool will work in areas where the pliers won't reach such as where the belt snaps to the abd plate and the 2 snaps that go onto the butt plate...Once you actually start using either of these tools you'll decide which you prefer...neither cost much so consider buying both if you can't decide....
  15. Count me in...I'd like one when they become available...
