  1. Friend showed me this site. Only 8500. http://www.autoweapons.com/photosn/photosmar04/62xsterling.html
  2. I would say hard cover as well, or at least semi rigid. Putting a soft cover would cause a problem if it came into contact with the board and could transfer moisture as well.
  3. I wouldn't suggest putting the board in a plastic bag, the board will need to breath in order to stay cool and dry. You could leave the board exposed and put some sort of cover over it to hide it and keep it protected from pokes and stray fingers.
  4. Glad my balls are back, I might need them.
  5. Great range there, that will open my options a little. Thanks Locitus!
  6. I'm still gathering all the small materials in anticipation of my armor delivery in October and my next question is Cap Rivets. I'm thinking I will use cap rivets for the leg ammo belt and maybe in a few other places as well (to be seen). My question is regarding the Cap rivet length. I know the head needs to be approx 8mm, and the length is oging to be based on the thing you're putting it through but what would be a good average length? My armor is a RT-Mod (.090 ABS) so I will have to go through two pieces, would an 8mm shaft be enough? I know the split rivets say you should get 11mm, but as it's a split, I'm sure the length is different then a cap. Tips on length form anyone please? Thanks! dday
  7. I do notice a noted improvement in posting speed. Still missing the view newest post link as said before. Thanks for keeping the site running!
  8. My goal is EiB at the get go (well after 501st and numbers are given) then centurion, so at this point, it's just a matter of waiting on the suit to be made. 6'6" 220 means I really only had one choice of suit makers so I wasn't shimmed out of existence. Hoping to have suit in hand in the start of October (Depending on RT-Mod Rob's armor making time) and submitted within a week or 2. In the mean time I will put the finishing touches into the suit and the moment I have my 501st number, I'll submit for EiB. Can you skip EiB and go straight to Centurion?
  9. Seems most people do that, or a velcro there. Make sure if you go velcro you put the fuzzy side on the armor and the hook side on the belt, otherwise you will catch your undersuit on it all the time.
  10. Plus, the build itself (like was said before) will be a great experience for you for when/if you decide to buy from some of the armormakers who are using their own molds from fan sculpted or casts made from original armors. Build it, and if you want to turn a quick buck resell it as an assembled kit of unknown origin.
  11. I'm sure you can build it to be 501st, there are a few things required, most notably to my untrained eye is the ab buttons. Not to mention the other assessories like the gun, undersuit, boots, gloves and so on.
  12. Over the last 3 days I've noticed that when I try to submit a post of a message, it will just hang there, sometimes timing out. I tried to make a post in the PX and it timed out 3 times. So I went to the PX and I see that I made 3 posts. Not sure whats up, but something is going on. I've noticed some other people having multiple posts as well, so it might be more then just me.
  13. The snaps on your ab piece, that's to attach the belt so it stays in place? How do you affix the snaps to the piece, glued?
  14. There is that... Are there any recertification requirements? Or once you have it, you have it for life?
  15. I see, I figured once you're EI, you should always troop to these standards.
  16. Photos all moves off the server, and I'm not going to put them back and relink...bleh.
  17. Looking at the CRL, ESB is just ANH just with no counter of cells, thought it had some greebles at the back somewhere... In the CRL for the ESB E-11 right behind the clip, there looks to be the power cells, not mounted on the clip but behind it, am I looking at it right?
  18. Well, not everyone likes fiddly bits! I personally like a cleaner gun. So If I plan on going EI/Centurion with a ANH Hero, how will that work, since the blaster is optional? I shouldn't troop with it until it's up to EI specs, or I build a different one?
  19. I realize weapons are not required for approval, but if present must meet standards. So in a pretty prominent thread http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2485 it shows several screen shots from ANH that have several of the E11's with no henglster or power cylinders. So why are these a hard requirement for EI if there was a mix of blasters in the film, both with and some without? A real or replica ammo counter - based off of a Hengstler counter - shall be present. Two power cylinders on the magazine housing.
  20. I never saw a link between the 2 snaps at the bottom of the butt and the crotch in the guilds. But this is probably just me, having not built one yet... only a few more months to go until it is made.
  21. Yes, I think so. see my previous post where I listed some interior measurements. Get a cloth/body tape and go around the body parts listed. just make sure none of the dimensions are outside the listed number, otherwise you'll need to shim it a little, which also is no problem.
  22. Daetrin, I wasn't really looking for an answer, mostly just discussion of different peoples views of the two camps. Awesome feedback by everyone, it really seems like a good split on both sides of the fence. I'm probably going to go as ANH Hero, and likely to Centurion classification in the details. I see a few extraneous pieces in the accuracy like unused snaps, but we have to keep in mind, this is very multipurpose armor, maybe those crotch snaps are used for another type of trooper we never saw.
  23. But, I'm just a noob here. the official answer will come from the admins I'm sure. You could also contact your local garrison and discuss with them, since you would be trooping with them, I think they ultimately would have the final say if you were 501st approved or not.
  24. The CRL states: White leather or leather-like, above ankle height, with a flat sole with a short heel, and small U-shaped elastic sections on both sides of the ankle with no buckles or laces. Jodhpur/Chelsea-type boots or an equivalent style is acceptable. Elvis or Mariachi boots are not allowed. However, when you consider it's for a real medical reason, I would tend to think it could be under a waiver of some sort.
