  1. I asked the seller that question myself, we will see what he replies.
  2. I'm getting closer, actually started building the base armor now, once I get the base suit built, I will start a TKC build here for the TKC specific parts. I ran into a few questions though, where can I find a joined kidney/but plate? I inquired from CFO, but the price was higher then I want to go at the moment, was hoping there would be a cheaper alternative. Anyone have a tip for me? Thinking to going with a AP helmet, either that or ATA. The belt with no center button, is this common? It seems most belts have the left, right and center buttons already molded into them. Can anyone provide a recommendation for manufacturer for this belt? Same goes for the AB buttons, I will need to get a set of these, vaderdave maybe? Thanks in advance for any tips you may be able to provide!
  3. So many questions about that. It is based on a real L2a3, or a resin base, real counter? I hate it when some lists an item for a high value but doesn't spend any time actually describing what they have.
  4. First assembly work in photos. I would have done more, but I don't have any more clamps. So I need to let the E6000 set for 24 hours before removing a few of the clamps so I can do the forearms. I will let the biceps set with 4 clamps and 2 magnet sets for up to 72 hours before removing completely. I wish I had bought another set of clamps when I was in the US, maybe I can find a cheap strong set here in Germany as well. Plus, I should have gotten the 3/4in magnets, the 1/2 seem a bit small. I got the N52 ones, so they are strong, I would just like a little more surface area. I opened up the bicep on the left a little more as I had closed it a bit to much with heat (as shown in the picture)
  5. Ah, ok I've been really digging deep prepping for my TKC build
  6. The TD is odd, it has 8 buttons and the round button actually sticks up vs being indented.
  7. Thread necromancy right now, but was the anchor detail on the ear pieces added into the basic approval after this one was done?
  8. Are we agreed this is basically a really early version of the FX?
  9. Is the belt to short? It loks like it was cut just before the 3rd buttons that are on the end...
  10. Yeah, I was looking at it and thought it was funny, and there was this goofy black sticker in the box. Apparently, thats supposed to be the vocoder... blerg. Who made a 3 piece lid anyways? Also, the biceps don't have the teardrops in them.
  11. Ok, so before I discovered this place, I found a cheap seller on ebay, suit was cheap, I bought it. Seller was Treckfreek, and I know a few have bought suits from him, and they are soso, most likely recast of FX. I think this is the first full set of photos from the armor he is selling. I encourage everyone who knows their stuff to scour these photos, ask for bigger ones, ask for zoomed photos, ask questions I can answer, and we can determine the origin of the armor he sells. My plan is to make a work with this set and make a TK stunt 501st with it, then with a few pieces subbed out, turn it into a TKC. Then when my suit from RT-Mod comes in October, it will be my ANH Hero suit. So two suits, fun times, no idea where I will store/display them... I'm happy my first suit is a cheap one, so I don't feel so scared doing the cutting as I would with a quality suit. I am in no way advocating this ebay seller or his suite. Just merely informational, and a build with hopefully enough information for anyone who might have a suit like it, to be able to get their up to standards. Each piece measures at 2mm and vendor claimed 0.90ABS. None of it is yellow at all, was just the lighting in the room. Overall 3 Piece helmet Left Arm Right Arm Chest, Back, Torso, Cod, Booty Belt, Thermal Detonator Left Leg Right Leg
  12. So I"m a size 15 and after talking to them (fast replies!) and passing some actual measurements, I decided to get a pair of 14s they had in stock. They came very fast. I was naturally a little concerned with the size 15 being a size 15. Put them on then they fit. So be aware, at least for me, they are running big. So if you're a 14, get a 13 or 13.5 as a 14 will be big. But big is better then to small.
  13. Well, then I would imagine you can EIB with just a slew of photos, why not, might as well
  14. How about we get a running count of the EI approval numbers, so we can track the path to 300?
  15. Turrican, Danke für die Informationen! Do you know where I could look here in germany to find a old deac?
  16. I wonder what the requirements are for these within germany, since this is where it would ultimately live, anyone know?
  17. I've been hoping to get a legal deac, but can't seem to find them anywhere. What kind of price do these deacs go for?
  18. Has anyone found a supplier of snaps in volume? The craft stores have snaps in quantity of 7 for about $5-6, but I'd like to buy like 100, but haven't had any luck finding them in such a volume.
  19. Thanks for the replies! I bought heavy duty 1 1/2 already, so it should be ok, even if it is a little smaller. Now I just need to get the 5/32 for the shoulder.
  20. So I'm gathering materials for my suit and one question I wasn't to turn up easily in the search was about the shoulder connections. I understand, elastic from chest to back, small elastic around the plastic shoulder straps that are free floating in the back and glued to chest in the front. So the interior elastic should be how wide about? 1.5in, 1.25in? I imagine it just needs to be slightly smaller then the plastic armor straps, but since I don't have armor yet, I don't really know a good measurement. Also, the small elastic around the plastic straps, .5in, .25in? Help is appreciated.
  21. Possibly, the boost in registrations is in part due to the amount of people selling recast and super cheap suits on ebay. For me, I started searching ebay on a whim for armor since I've always thought about it. I saw a seller selling them cheap, and figured, why not. Once I started bidding and watching prices, I saw a ton of sellers touting the 501st approved. So I thought, hey, I should look into if the sellers are full of crap or they are telling the truth. This led me to the FISD and ultimately to register. So there are a lot of poor quality recast suits out there being sold now, this may be driving up registrations as people start to do their research into what it takes to get their newly purchased recast suits 501st approved, that's what drew me here, I know I'm not alone.
  22. I think it needs to be a separate thread. When I asked if you could skip EIB and go straight to centurion, I was told no, so once you get EIB I guess you will just do a new thread requesting Centurion. buuut, I"m not an admin here, so what I say holds no weight.
  23. Oh, also forgot to mention, anyone outside the USA, don't get any hopes of ever buying this, importing an automatic weapon is most likely a felony. Great collectible gun, since they are 0 more of these coming into the world, it's fairly limited that it isn't cut up.
