  1. You even look a little like Jengo, great happenstance that you have a very nice Jengo build as well!
  2. John has been around, but hasn't been responding about his lenses, last I heard several months ago he was going to do a new version, but haven't seen anything. Probably got caught up in life.
  3. If you are able, I would return them. With the low and wide elastic, they won't be screen accurate enough to paint them.
  4. Low is the word I find. You'll have a hard time getting the shins to sit low enough to cover the top of the elastic. I suggest pitting them on then testing with your shin armor.
  5. Sorry I haven't made the tutorial yet, BEen lots of things going on. I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can make some progress on getting started. The upside? Finished my Darth Vader saber upgrade. Removable blade, P4 LED, sweet!
  6. Understood! Along those lines, does anyone have deferences to the Havoc squads defection? I know wookiepedia has a paragraph on it, it just says it happened, and eventually they were all tracked down and taken care of. More details would be great, if anyone knows where I can find them.
  7. I agree, don't cut the bells! The biceps look pretty far up, are they snapped in yet? The best bet, especially for tall, monkey armed troopers so to try to get the biceps down as far as possible. It is more accurate, plus helps to reduce the blackhole space at the elbow. The best bet is to do it the screen accurate way, take a 1inch strip of abs about 4-6inches long, it can be scrap, doesn't matter as most of it will be hidden. To make the hooks you will heat the last 1/2 inch and fold it over to create the hook. The hook should be just enough to catch the elastic band you have going around the inside of your shoulder bells. Once you have the hook formed, apply E6000 generously on the 'fingerprint' inside the bicep. This spot was raised up to give a good flat spot to attach the hook to. Now you won't need the snaps as the bicep hook will catch on the shoulder bell strap. Overall, what this does is lets the outside edge of the bicep 'sag' a little. It won't come out of the bell, but it will pull down a little since the fulcrum is on the other side. I used snaps on my biceps first, but after my first troop, they kept coming unsnapped if I moved to much due to the difference in levels between the two snaps, I made some hooks. I will make a picture tutorial in a few hours on how to make hooks! I'll link it once I get it done. Just to provide some help to others looking to do this.
  8. But I"m still torn, these are republic, not imperials... gahhh the good guys.... What to do... Maybe stick with the Sith Acolyte armor! Time will tell.
  9. I know this is still very rough, but what are you estimating the ball park for the suit will be. I need to know what my target saving is.
  10. You can def cut the overlap. If you want some extra support, glue a piece of abs on the backside of the crack. Having an actual separation between the two pieces is more SA then a flush piece if I remember correctly.
  11. Will the armor be a complete custume out of the box, or will it be more along the TK line where there is still a good amount of things you'll need to complete the suit?
  12. Are you doing this project as a 1 off, or will you be making a run of these?
  13. Hah! Nah, we're just watching in awe and unable to speak! This set is coming out pretty fricking amazing man. I bet it will cost a fortune!
  14. The fronts of the forearms should have no return edge, and if I remember correctly the biceps as well.
  15. I knew I should have sent it in a PM from the start...!
  16. No one said it has to be YOUR weapon!
  17. Do your EIB/cent in your friends hyperfirm!
  18. Now where is the EIB and cent apps! Gotta get on it
  19. Congrats on the number!
  20. I actually bought these as well, but decided if I was going to do that, I might as well actually hand paint, it's fun and more accurate.
  21. I remember that when I opened the helmet and looked at it, everything is sticker. Ears, frown, vocoder. It is a very well done sticker set, but still a sticker and perfect, which makes it imperfect. I spoke with Boomshakra about the stickers and he said they are very sticky and leave a lot of residue behind, so if you plan on hand painting, know there is a lot of clean up to get a smooth bucket, it shouldn't stop you if you and your hubby want to build to centurion, just so you're forewarned!
  22. For the non-USA people here, this is the powerball lottery jackpot ever and the second largest lottery in general in history. So if he wins, it's like 550 million USD, 180million on a full cash payout. HOLY CRUD! Numbers were announced though, so if you picked 5, 23, 16, 22, 23, 29 and powerball 6. you win. Split of course with any other lucky mofo who picked the same numbers. Officials thing there is a 75% chance that someone won, but it's to early to tell yet as winners have a pretty long period of time before they have to come forward, some states it's up to 3 months I think?
  23. I also noticed one detail I can't see in the photos. On your left side, the 3 split rivets, are they on the ab section as well, or just the kidney section? IT's not clear in the photo due to overlap by the belt and the chest piece.
  24. Awww, how cute are those little boots! Great deal and great photos. Those little tabs on the thighs can probably be trimmed off, but wait until after fitting, because if there is a gap on the bottom as you see in a lot of builds, this tab will be great to help reinforce and fill that gap.
  25. You should strap your foreamrs to your biceps. they are really far down. Look under the tutorials for how to do it. Is also looks like your holster is really really far back, basically over your butt vs your hip. Check some screen captures to ensure you get the right distance of the holster from the ABS belt.
