  1. Your belt is a little high at the back, angling downwards to your front. If like me you are too skinny sometimes adding a little foam behind your abdomen helps to keep the ab/kidney from pulling inwards too much. You will find once you have your chest and backplate attached things may still move so you may want to hold off gluing. Many of use a belt and straps to the thighs, this is so you can make adjustments if they are needed. Some glue the strapping to the thighs but I like to use snaps, in the event I ever have to change the elastic. I also have braces which help keep them level. There's no wrong way, some attach directly to the abdomen. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7002/6721424513_dfc95a8334_b.jpg Position of the belt under the large ab plate For level 3 approval: 1. In order to fully support the holster/E-11 the canvas belt must be firm/sturdy in appearance (no wrinkling or sagging). 2. Canvas belts can not contain patches of any sort. 3. The top of the ABS belt shall sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical ab button panels. A slight overlap is suggested, but not required. Notes: The bottom of the canvas belt should ideally sit above the bottom of the kidney plate and not overlap the kidney/posterior plate connection.
  2. You need to use the "direct link" or link with file extension, ie: .jpeg, jpg, .png, .gif. OR you can simply right click and copy your image directly into your post. Here is a Imgur how to
  3. You need to add your photos to the post not just links, try using the "direct link" option or the links with file extensions, ie: .jpg, ,jpeg, .png, .gif. You can also right click and copy and paste directly into your post
  4. Hello and welcome, looking forward to watching your build. If you use the "direct link" option your images should show, they are the links with .jpg, .jpeg, ,png, .gif extensions. A how to guid here for using Imgur Good luck with the build
  5. You will see in this video quite a few stormtroopers sitting, as I've said previously it can be done, it depends on your height, it can be very uncomfortable as plastic can dig in "armor bites" is a common term, plus the actors would not be thinking of damaging the costume. Also consider Phasma is a coated or painted costume so you would not want to damage the finish. From the Phasma facebook group
  6. I would suggest she is only sitting/resting on the edge of the stand, I can do this in both my sets of armor, just not fully sit, like in a chair.
  7. It is the same armor (with a few mods) as First Order, so you will find the same issues, she may have been sitting as her posterior plate may have been removed.
  8. Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks . You can request TK forum access here A great read for our newly approved troopers https://databank.501st.com/databank/TrooperSurvivalGuide Hope to see you out and about at events, you can keep a troop log here , there is an award program that may interest you. Hope to see you applying for EIB and Centurion in the future
  9. Thank you Justin I do appretiate the thought, but I don't think I am deserving of it, I don't do it for the glory, I do it for our membership that may not see some of these free files. Nothing to see here, move along, move along
  10. I found over the years that you can never have enough clamps, magnets or tape. I've doubled the amount of magnets since the following photo was take, what ever works. I've even seen some use velcro and even jocky straps (no that's not some weird sex thing)
  11. Looking good so far. Sanding will take a while, I use wet and dry with warm water and a few drops of dish washing liquid, helps the sandpaper glide a little easier and doesn't clog as quick. One of the biggest issues with ABS paste is you can get air bubbles, hence why using thin layers of paste. Using some cutting compound should bring the shine back
  12. That's your 501st forum profile not 501st membership profile, this is the droid link you need https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=43137
  13. Most of the discussion is happening legion command staff /detachment staff, doubt you will see it on the legion forum. The CRL process has needed updating for years, it's just a job the Legion Web team have been putting off as they knew it was going to take considerable time to undertake. I know this is frustrating but nothing can be done, I've been through it myself with the Sith Trooper, we had people ready for 2 years who helped supply the text and edited photos only for the detachment to drag their feet, so I just wore it unapproved outside of 501st events. If you are really unhappy you can reach out to the LMO's but you will get pretty much the same answer [email protected]
  14. Link is incorrect, this is the one you need https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=48086
  15. A tip is to paint white first, that way if you get any paint bleed through it white and not blue You can find some tube stripe templates here, you will note they aren't very curved, it's when you apply them you can pull the sticker so it curves. When printing these out, they should be 13/16" (@16mm) tall. Modified version, front stripes fall forward
  16. For most it is easy, many of us watching the movies and seeing Stromtroopers on screen and we fell in love. If you are not sure then don't rush, look through the costumes and what goes into them, cost is another big consideration
  17. Kon'nichiwa, yōkoso! Fōramu e no yori takai akusesu kengen o rikuesuto suru ni wa, kochirawokurikku shite kudasai. Hello and welcome aboard trooper, you can request higher forum access here Any issues please reach out
  18. Most hard armor costumes you can not sit in comfortably, just the way they are constructed, you may damage trying to sit, you could remove some pieces to sit if you make them detachable. A soft costume may be a better fit for you if you need to sit for any length of time. We look after variants of Stormtrooper, the 501st legion are the "bad guys" of Star Wars, you can find a complete list of costumes here https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CRLbyname Rebel Legion are the "good guys" you can find their costumes here https://rebellegion.com/category/costume-standards/
  19. No like a different costume, First Order armor is very constricting and I doubt you would ever be able to sit, pieces would break. Even this soft version treadspeeder driver would not work as it has the posterior plate and cod which are pretty rigid . https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Treadspeeder_Driver
  20. Can't say I recall a brown helmet in the past, looks like there are some air/vacum hoes in the lower ridge of the backplate, that's a little odd, doesn't look like a mainstream maker, may be something from etsy
  21. DDD (AM) Dave's Darkside Depot is the largest fitting armor Contact info
  22. That's your 501st forum profile, not your 501st membership profile, this is the droid link you are looking for https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=43137
  23. Chest armor, backplate, shoulders are larger and squarer on the bottom. Research is the key with this one, as the CRL is not finished it's up to you to match what references there are. Here is the current CRL thread
  24. Some threads on fitting ears, add a step to the top portion so the rear can sit closer. It's all about fine tuning and sanding, going slow and rechecking.
  25. Not first order armor. Maybe look at a 1/2 armor 1/2 soft costume if you need to sit, bikerscouts can do just about anything.
