  1. I suffered some black staining on a pair of FOTK boots, I found it was the microphone from the rubber wrapped around it, nothing would remove it and I had to apply some shoe whitening to cover it, I now keep the microphone in a sealed bag. There is automotive compound polish, this is very course and will normally get rid of staining.
  2. One thing I noticed is you don't appear to have a D-ring and it is required for L2, you may want to add one before the DO's review your application OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): D-ring mounted on the rear.
  3. If you bring the connection further towards the front it will help pull in the shoulders when moving your arms.
  4. From the DO's: CRL L3: Any mobility cuts on back of piece do not go past raised ridges. It would be like bellow, note the curve Some are just angled from corner to center of the ridge
  5. Good call, will sit differently once you have your shoulders attached.
  6. A very tedious job but it looks like you have it well in hand
  7. Mobility cuts should not go through the lower ridge, they are generally curved but yours look rectangle references here
  8. You may not get a reply as the member has not been on the forum since 16th January. Although ABS I've found some polishes will work although I've had to use automotive compound for deeper scratches/marks
  9. Looks like your backplate is sitting too high, you can see on the side image. Hopefully they are not the shoes you want to use, no white soles for ANH 1: the shoulder bell snaps keep coming off, (I accidently matched two snaps that aren't the same for each other) and they need to be pulled in a little bit. 2: I think I need to tighten the strap length between the cod and butt plate. 3: I KNOW I have trimmed the abdomen and kidney plates to short, also because of how it was cut, and sits, it begins to widen, down toward the lower half at the seam. I also drilled 3 holes on EACH side of the kidney and abdomen plate. so yay, another mistake. Way too short, I would have left more material and add foam to hold the abdomen outwards. 4: the shins keep rotating around my legs, I still have work to do on the shins with strapping, but I'm going to be doing that a little later. Shin tabs can help stop rotation and keep them from coming up off your boots, velcro, snaps, front or rear of the boots 5: the chest plate does feel like it needs to sit closer to my upper chest, as when I try to look down with my helmet... I can't. I do expect limited mobility and vision. I think your backplate is the issue and it's pulling up the chest. You may need to trim the backplate, as it's sitting over your kidney, have a read of the threads I posted previously with smaller frame builds. so lastly, I have started some work on my thermal detonator, will be hand painting all my decals, (also removing the stickers I had used) and using 100% white silicone to finish up the shims. Make sure you have the correct sizing --for the Helmet-- I couldn't find Mediterranean or French blue, (maybe I could be Mr. no stripes?) and the black paint I got was semi gloss black. No longer use Mediterranean blue, just French blue or similar. No you can't be Mr No Stripes, not approvable. I had replaced the head suspension from the hard hat with foam, and fitted a strap for the inside, which I'm surprised how well it holds to my head when I look up and down. I have a block of 1" 1/2 foam on both sides of my head, stops the helmet from moving around, a bit like this image. Helmets also had straps, albeit I removed mine after 2 minutes as with using the ear screws the position was cutting into my neck, very uncomfortable OOOOOOh it's O so close now. I'm not insanely worried about the smaller details such as the thermal detonator, shoulder covers, sniper knee, ammo packs and blaster, as if it doesn't look good without those parts, it sure won't look good with them. (this is my own critique to myself) You will need to trim those cover strips, note one thigh strip is under your cod. You could also bring up your biceps and bring down your forearms, will give you a bit more room at the elbows to move. Can't see if you have them but there needs to be an elastic strap around the shoulder bells. You can also add bicep hooks if you like Your mobility cut outs look a bit too rectangle, entirely up to your GML if he/she/them will approve, they should curve
  10. The process can take some time, please standby as a DO @Deployment Officer Team will be along in dure course
  11. Congratulations and welcome to the Centurion ranks trooper
  12. Just realized you already have 501st access, but once your Shock Trooper is approved you can request TK access using the same link
  13. Many posts on the forum of no contact, orders have been taking up to 12 months. Our DL is aware and has posted the following end of April: "I'll cut to the chase, he's trying his best to catch up with orders and will deliver all orders eventually but it will take time. Depending on where you are in the queue will determine when you get your order. No new orders are being taken, only the back log. Sorry it's not great news, but he really is trying to get everyone what they ordered."
  14. Wrong link that's your legion forum profile, this is the droid link you are looking for https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=30432 If you gain 501st access before your Shock Trooper is approved then you will need to make another request for TK access here.
  15. Having a little bit of flex in the armor is a good thing, especially if moving about quite a lot and not just standing looking menacing Anything you would add behind the armor you would need to rough up the whole surface so it has something to grip too. Be careful with fiberglass resin, it can heat while drying. RS props is very thin armor and apart from a few little cracks around the chest they do last a long time, I know a member who is pretty hard on his kit. Check out Han's chest for flex
  16. Hello and welcome I have not seen any 3D files for this character, you can find kits through imperialsurplus.com
  17. He could not post it here as he does not have full TK access as yet
  18. You will also need to request Full TK access, currently you only have 501st access Also check this guide
  19. Nobody has completed one so there is no CRL. There was a maker who started but did not finish make full kits and is no longer building.

Need Help Ask the Deployment Officers Advance to 1500 Advanced Tactics Awards Newsletter Editor Staff List 2025 Follow FISD Greetings Troopers, An eventful month for all things Star Wars, starting off with Celebration in Japan. For those of you who were able to attend I hope you had a great time. It looks like this was a good one. The next one returns to the USA, to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center I am sure the team over in California will put on a great event. We've also seen Andor return for Season 2. No spoilers from me for those of you who have not caught up yet. Just as a note for anyone looking to work on any new costumes that are featured in the show that LMO will not be taking any potential new costumes until the season is complete. This is to ensure that any costumes are fully understood before any decisions are made as to which detachment would be appropriate. This month also saw the Captain Enoch CRL submitted to LMO. This is a great step toward this CRL being completed. It's worth noting that this process takes some time, and we're not at the front of the queue. There is also a possibility that the LMO will want changes to the text, or images prior to approval. There is also another issue which will slow down the approval process. The old CRL system you are all aware of is being migrated to a new system. The old system has been struggling for a long time and is now in the process of being replaced. The FISD part of this process has been completed but there is still work to be completed before the new system can be launched. Until this new CRL system is in place no new CRLs will be being approved. The current estimates are this will be launching "soon" with the Web and LMO teams working hard on getting this done. With Unquestioned Loyalty Chris Pearson TK-10991 "themaninthesuitcase" Detachment Leader Greetings Troopers! Hope everyone survived SWCJ and the May the 4th Trooping extravaganza. This TK did 5 troops in 3 days, 32 hrs in Armor! It was fun as always. But on to the merch! Old Business "FISD EIB Coins" EI coins are still available. I'm down to 12 left. If you are eligible, please look into it. In order to buy one, you have to have an approved EI costume and you can not have ever bought an EIB coin from any pervious runs. EIB coins are a once and done coin. If you have this one and would prefer one of the older versions, I may have an option for you so please dm me. EIB v11 coin run is open "FISD Stepping Out Challenge Coin" There has been some issues with this coin. Updates can be found in the sales thread below. But long and short, All the international orders have shipped to the regional distributors. The North and South America coins (as well as a few that didn't fit in the regional distributors areas) are being held up while I work with the vendor to navigate the tariff charges from China to the US. The import duty DHL wanted to collect was more than we paid for all the coins, combined, so needless to say, they haven't shipped yet. Additional information about this run can be found here. Merch Poll for 2025 is still up. You can find the poll thread here. But the FISD/MEPD Dual Detachment Spinner coin run is closed, and the order has been placed. You can learn more about the run here New Business Staff is currently discussing the next merch run. We have a few options on the table and we plan on posting a poll in the very near future to get feedback from the membership on what they would like to see. So keep an eye on the Merch Thread for that! Contact me by PM or apply in the thread below: With Unquestioned Loyalty Jonatan Östling TK-23592 "Nairy" Attaché Ambassador Master Armorer Program FISD has many wonderful programs to help members build and submit costumes for our detachment, whether it be a classic Stormtrooper, a First Order Stormtrooper, or even one of the new Imperial Armored Commandos. While our Expect Infantry and Centurion programs get most of the attention, FISD staff wants to relaunch the Armorer Program (Currently called the Master Armorer Program). What is the Armorer Program you ask? Well, it is a program designed to recognize those troopers that go above and beyond to assist themselves and others in getting costumes built, submitted, and approved. One of the goals of all the detachments in the 501st Legion is to help members build and submit costumes that meet and hopefully exceed the minimum requirements of the Legion’s CRLs. Currently the Master Armorer program has the requirement of helping a minimum of 5 members achieve Expert Infantry status. The member must have spent at least 30min physically helping another member with cutting, gluing, sizing, etc, just because they want to help (no money exchanged). There are 3 levels of the award, FISD Armorer, FISD Senior Armorer and FISD Master Armorer. The new program will add a 4th level at the beginning called the Apprentice Armorer. The point scale will be as follows. 5 points - Apprentice Armorer 10 points - Armorer 20 points - Senior Armorer 30 points - Master Armorer If you love building armorer and love helping fellow members get their costumes built, then this is the program you’ve been searching for. We look forward to awarding more members with this award as we know how much we all love Troopers helping Troopers. More information can be found here Armorer Rocker Patches Rocker patches are now available for the Armorer Program, there is currently just the one patch, and members are eligible to receive two of them once they reach Level 2, "Armorer". More information can be found here Want to setup a "Fire Team? the Fire Team program is completely optional and is intended to help form a common identity and spirit of camaraderie among 501st Legion Stormtroopers in the same geographic area/garrison that troop together. Fire Teams are not officially recognized by the 501st Legion nor the FISD, although they will be able to access a Fire Team sub-forum on the detachment website. You can find more information here. For those interested here is the original discussion on the creation of Fire teams here With Unquestioned Loyalty Mark Ryner TK-4584 "captsafe66" Fire Team Relations So what exactly are and levels? These programs were designed for those who choose to take their armor above and beyond the minimum requirements for basic 501st Legion approval. It gives you the chance to show a level of dedication and pride that takes your armor closer to being as "screen accurate" as possible, without as much extra work as you may realize! You can find more information on the programs here. For those unaware it is possible to achieve extra awards at Expert Infantry for each additional version costume you have approved, additional awards are not issued with another Expert Infantry number (you are only issued 1 Expert Infantry number) but you will see a star above the award on your profile and the thread title will show [APPROVED] 2nd, [APPROVED] 3rd, [APPROVED] 4th and so on. Multiple EIB award recipients and info here NOTE If you are approved with a "2nd Version" of a particular costume that you are already approved with you do not receive an additional award, there is only 1 award issued for each costume version ie: only 1 x Hero, 1 x Stunt, 1 x HWT, 1 x ESB, 1 x TFA and so on. If you have a second/additional version costume approved you will see "2nd Version" and [APPROVED] added to the thread title, no additional profile stars (more info on profile awards here) For those of you who have a particular issue (or issues) before or after submitting for Expert Infantry / Centurion level approval, in order to get you an answer faster you can now privately contact the entire Deployment Officer team at one time! Questions about fitting, repairs, CRL standards/requirements or anything pertaining to reaching Levels 2 and 3 are not only welcomed, but encouraged. Keep in mind that no question is too small, and that your queries will only be seen by the D.O. Staff. We are here to help in any way we can, so please feel free to send us a message by clicking on this link: @Deployment Officer Team and we will get back to you A.S.A.P.! More info here This area lists all those who have gone above and beyond basic approval toward screen accuracy and obtained EIB or Centurion or both. 21. Came out great, I've not looked into multi color printing, I may have to do some research
  22. Really annoying when you have to wait to paint due to poor weather, we are just heading into that time once again.
  23. Upper top of the thigh, you can just see in this image I use adjusters on the elastic too, but usually once you have them placed right you don't need to adjust again. Here's a prototype I came up, has some adjustment
