  1. Can be a common issue for those with larger thighs, here are a few threads on those who have tackled the same issue
  2. You've got the right attitude so you are halfway there
  3. Indeed just in case the wearer adds some extra weight or if you want to on sell your armor, this is why I don't trim mine too small, I just ran into a problem selling my TKC, although the wearer was a little larger (took out the padding) the thighs were just too tight, I ended up having to add shims to both sides of the thighs, fill with ABS paste, sand and paint to match, it's a lot of work, so not trimming too small is definitely the way to go.
  4. Apologies for my previous statement it was pointed out by Jason BigJasoni has been legion approved with his 3D printed armor (geez my memory is getting bad) you can take a look at his build here
  5. Unfortunately it can happen with already assembled armor, it's definitely doable so don't loose faith yet, plenty of people hear on the forum to guide you through, perhaps take a look at a few of these threads, these had to be reduced in size to fit the wearers height and width. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38416-crickets-rs-stunt-build-for-the-vertically-challenged/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38842-fragarocks-rs-stunt-build-not-to-scale/ https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/42868-sha-shas-wtf-anh-stunt-build-complete/ In your photos your ab/kidney would need to come up so it fits nicely under your chest. You don't want to trim too much or you may have trouble if you ever want to sell your armor. I trim my suits to the standard sizing an minimum raised ridges, and because of my thin frame (167lbs) I have 2 x 2" blocks of foam behind my ab to help fill the gap and stop squashing once the belt is added, I also have blocks of foam in my biceps, forearms and thighs. A lot of areas can look filled with undersuit on and foam centering your pieces
  6. Tagging the DO team so hopefully they will chime in soon @Deployment Officer Team
  7. You may want to add some stop fray liquid to the edges of the belt. I don't think they would have an issue how it looks now. Just note all of these minor details are for higher level clearance, for base 501st approval you could contact your GML at any time, just fix up some of those dressing issues and you should be fine. Once approved you can then apply for Expert Infantry status and after that on to Centurion.
  8. Tagging the deployment team so they will hopefully chime in for you soon @Deployment Officer Team' Thread in regards to larger cover strips Having the raised ridges there could be a problem, here's a few threads in regards to widening the thighs. Thighs that have the raised ridges are the hardest to solve, generally you cut off the raise sections, add shim pieces then glue the ridges back so they are at the max width or @20mm, it's a lot of work to get a nice clean finish.
  9. Looking good, I also left a lot of the return edge, even though gaskets will take up some of this room I do have skinny arms.
  10. You would be better of using a free online photo host so the images show in the thread, many of us use Imgur, a how to here Correct, adjust strapping from chest to ab, then backplate to kidney, then take another look Many of us with skinnier arms have to add some padding/foam into some sections, biceps, forearms, thighs and on some occasions behind the ab plate, this helps take up some of the slack when you tighten your belt, if you tighten too much your sides can overlap so the foam helps.
  11. Looking better, I would probably take off a couple more coils to match the reference,, but you should be ok
  12. "Before I begin, I do want to let you know that the current CRL has the following requirement: The armor parts shall be made from one of these types of materials or like materials: White fiberglass, ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene), or Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)." Just to add some info to this statement, it has been discussed to add 3D prints to the CRL's BUT it was decided as nobody to date has provided and been approved in a full costume it won't be added for the time being, this is not to say you couldn't have a 3D printed costume approved but you would need closely match references, we have a gallery section full of images for referencing https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/category/21-starwars-story-reference/
  13. Hello and welcome to the forum, looking forward to seeing some photos, you can post a build/update thread here to show any progress pics https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/80-anh-build-threads/ This is a great thread full of info which may help you along your way
  14. If you get close to the image provided you should be ok. I would say No2 as you don't see the bump on the scope in these references Wire reference
  15. There are two For Sale areas, one is open to all members the other only open to 501st approved.
  16. Just check the gaps between the clips and end caps, you may need a slight adjustment OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned with little to no gap between the clips and the end caps. Looks like the first photo the plastic belt is not positioned central to the fabric belt, this could be solved moving it up slightly, depends what glue and rivets RS have used. As always this is a call for the @Deployment Officer Team in regards to higher level clearance
  17. Make sure you keep some of these trimmings, they are great for support pieces in case of any cracks and also great for ABS paste. I found using the ABS paste firstly on join seams was a lot stronger than using a bondo or fiberglass filler as some areas will bend with use.
  18. I guess 24/7 you will get some discoloration, my old set of ATA which is now a Sandy only changed slightly in color and this is will multiple troops worn in direct sunlight, hottest day was 39.8deg C. I feel over time the plastics have gotten better in regards to UV light, we don't see the issue come up very often to say 10 years ago when I first started. Once you have finished with the testing phase this could be a good subject to post it's own thread, others may share their experiences too
  19. You could add a plate on top of the one already there so it matches the kidney, unfortunately RS don't always make their armor to match the CRL's but this seamless requirement is nothing new and many have had to make the modification to obtain L3 centurion. You may be ok for L2 EIB but that's entirely up to the @Deployment Officer Team as it is stepped the way it is.
  20. I guess LMBO's could look into it if they dared or cared. Many have asked the questions in the past but little has been done to date, I guess even the mouse could get involved if they really cared in loss of earnings or the use of their IP in this manner although I would think Albin would probably has been given the ok as he donates excess funds to charities
  21. Hello and welcome aboard, RS is a great kit, you may find you might have to adjust some strapping that's pretty much all most find with commission builds. Looking forward to seeing those BBB's soon.
  22. Most of your issues I've posted to already but to answer again The issues I am aware of: The backs of my shin pieces do not close. See previous reply There are sharp edges on the shin pieces that poke the back of my knees uncomfortably. Trimming should solve this My thigh pieces seem to be too tight to go as high as they're supposed to. As a result, I cannot bend my knees. Question Is this something that needs to be addressed by widening the pieces (so they sit higher) or by adding a mobility cut to the back of the knees (so they don't go higher, but I can bend my legs)? Yes they are too tight and too low, they need to come up (see thigh shim info in my previous post) The strap on the left shoulder is un-glued. I've gotten some E6000 glue and I've glued it. Leaving it to dry overnight. Generally we add snaps to these areas so they can be removed in case of needing adjustments. The rigging from the chest to abdomen appears to have a gap (as pointed out above). I'll need to figure out the best way to address this. Tighter strapping may help, although you look quite tall for the armor, many armor kits are suited up to 6'. The shoulder strap velcro on the right was unfastened when photos were taken. I think I should be ok. Velcro isn't generally used as it's not very strong, but if it's holding see how it goes, may of us use elastic and snaps. Inside the helmet, the green plastic blocks my nose from fitting in the nose bridge and prevents the helmet from sitting right. I plan to trim this. I'd also like to black-out the inside eventually. You may be able to cut a V out of this section, normally I cut the lens only slightly larger than the eye openings. You may also need some elastic to keep your shoulder straps down at the back, when you have corrected the chest positioning. Belt could come up a touch, also need the large ab plate bottom button painted blue Helmet is too high on your head as well as angled downwards at the front, you may be able to use thinner padding or tilt head backwards Also bring your biceps up a little, then adjust the gaps at wrists and elbows, they are all touching at present and you need a little room there Hard to tell from your image but your brow trim looks a little low for a "stunt" version. Also mic tips rim could be painted white
  23. FYI Albin has another run going on FB, this is the 501st Squad 25th Anniversary patch, coin and stickers
