Looking good
-
Definitely starting to look the part. Hard to kit up and take photos yourself but the use of a full length mirror can help, especially if you have someone taking photos that may not know what to look out for. I can kit up myself, normally @10min but have been quicker when I've been rushed, does help having long arms and legs

Shoulder strap cracking - how to fix?
gmrhodes13 replied to Jakebullet's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I use a piece of ABS plastic just smaller than the actual shoulder strap, heat and bend to the shape, rough up with sandpaper and glue with E6000, gives some nice stiffness to the shoulder straps -
Congratulations trooper and welcome to the ranks

Some staff will be away for celebration, you could however contact the LMO's [email protected]

Katee recieved a pretty nice birthday cake on the Saturday, only just in my feed today, helmet was chocolate based and removable

Yes has been updated a couple of times since it was first posted

Correct, was a prototype, brackets were a little too thin. I've seen some just add a pair of braces to an existing belt

My belt is supported by braces over my shoulders

Borrow a storm trooper uniform
gmrhodes13 replied to Jay Donovan's topic in New Member Introductions
"He loves watching Episode XII and the storm troopers." pretty sure the roman numerals are wrong, that would be 12 and we don't have one yet. If you mean 7 The Force Awakens that would be first order Stormtroopers You can get this type of soft costume quite cheaply at most party/halloween stores, or check online, there's also the original trilogy version too If you are looking for more realistic DN do sell kits https://www.denuonovo.com/products/star-wars-first-order-stormtrooper-standard-kit There are other sellers listed in this thread It's not a cheap hobby and I can't see anyone donating a full set of armor. -
Storm trooper uniform to borrow or donate
gmrhodes13 replied to Jay Donovan's topic in New Member Introductions
I think we pretty much covered it in your other request, but as I've previously said many won't lend out their costumes for others to wear as they are quite expensive, all I could suggest is look out for a cheaper soft costume option like a Rubies or similar For anyone following previous costume request thread is here -
That could be an issue, perhaps our DL may be able to help @Sly11 Here's your original request from back in 2015 StructureBD looks like you were last active in 2018 You also have a classified record on the legion database, this would mean you have been moved to retired at some stage, you will need to contact your GML or GCO for further info

We have a gallery section full of references which should answer your questions, here's just a few images from the gallery

Normally purchase from the supplier of the armor, there can be different shades of armor between makers so always best to stay with the original supplier. That said if you can get to an armor workshop or troop you may be able to color match to another makers armor, best to do in person

A very common image
-
I doubt they will still be in armor, it's more a casual meet and greet
-
If you run a lighter or soldering iron across the ends of the elastic it will stop it from fraying
-
+1 on that, I can't wait until larger resin printers become more viable for my budget
-
I purchased some from @sskunky he is in the UK, couldn't find a local source

Not that I'm aware, I only had access to the A4 sizing
