  1. I Have humbrols and used them on my ab buttons, but the cure time was very long and as I had to apply multiple coats, annoying. I went with testors gloss gray on my Lid, and I like it a lot, and I think its a better match (not as dark) than the model masters. Here is how I chose my colors based on this post: http://www.whitearmo...eference-guide/ Just saw that the gray testors is 1138!
  2. no idea how many there are, but I have one of them... I do not plan to troop with it because it would be too heavy, and also because of gun laws here.
  3. No the blaster is a hyperfirm from Scifire, but thie mold broke and they plan to make no more. I got one of the last batches supposedly. It is a real shame, because I actually like it much more than the ANH version I also have (more detail). With how impossible it is to find a good ROTJ blaster I was glad to stumble on the Hyperfirm while it was still available.
  4. Requesting... Well you know http://www.501st.com/members/searchresults.php
  5. Well the suit is approved, now its just on to waiting for the Email with my number! Edit: TK11038 Baby!
  6. Hello all, I recently got an untrimmed RS Propmasters PVC suit, and I decided I wanted a ROTJ suit to match, so CFO was the natural choice. I got Mark to partially build me the ROTJ suit to save me some time, and partly because if anyone knew how to assemble the torso and lid correctly it would be Mark. I need to do the legs myself since the standard trimmed CFO legs will not fit. I wanted to take this chance to show some pics of the CFO suit as it stands now and mention what a great guy Mark is. The torso is top notch. Anyhoo look! its a TK inna Box! (Of course Mark Shipped it very well packed with the armor wrapped in white paper and bubble wrap) Here is a pic of the torso on my duct tape and PVC Manny. (figured seeing the torso on a hairy legged and boxer shorted Tk would distract a bit from the armor.... ) Please ignore the Vader, transformers, Macross, and Legos in the back ground Also that is a Hyperfirm ROTJ E-11 and That is a fantastic blaster, it is sad that they can make no more Here are some pics of the lid with the great repro liner that Mark sent me (I stuck it in myself and am not sure if this is its final position) And final shots today, the appropriate ROTJ TD, with smaller clips than ANH or ESB and a bit of a different face detail. Once I get the legs finished I will get better pictures of it all together and from other Views. Just wanted to drop the word that the CFO armor is great and Mark is super easy to deal with.
  7. Try to send troopermaster a pm here on the boards. It is how i contacted him.
  8. That video is what made me decide to finally go for the 501st. Glad to share it
  9. At which point they continue to grow...um outward least I did!
  10. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21690-side-shims-for-eib-and-centurion-question/page__st__60 is a thread about it, but looks like chookabooms is the best bet.
  11. if the armor fits you well then there should be no gap. If you are like me and are bigger than the traditional troopers you are probably going to have a gap there. People have closed those with shims to varying degrees of sucess. and Ideally the kidney and ab would set even, but if you are tall it may be that the strapping you have done is pulling up the kidney because it cannot flex enough. I would not kut your kidney though it is hard to say without a picture. Just loosen the connections from the back to the kidney until it sits even with the Ab. Here is a picture of mine, and you can see I have a gap I have not closed with a shim yet, and also you can see that the kidney is a little out of line with the ab. part of that is my raised arms, but it used to set even higher until I lengthened my connections between back and kidney.
  12. oh right! I figured that went withought saying, you know the pink type to better blend
  13. But but but... I wanted to use Elmers wood glue and silly puddy! The larger the grit of sandpaper the better and smoother it sands right?
  14. would it be possible since I already have holes and split rivets in my Kidney piece, to add the part like chookaboom, but with the rivets for that side still in the kidney? Or would I need to move the rivets to the shim? I am not sure I could fill those holes well, I would probably have to get a new kidney from RS, which may take a Loooong time.
  15. still waiting for mine...been on order for near 4 months But yours looks great!
  16. Eagerly Awaiting my 501st Approval!

  17. AND the Hyperfirm we can use as a bludgeon and not destroy! still, my Doopy e-11 is great, id love to get a doopy DLT-19 for display.
  18. wish doopy would ship those to the USA!
  19. You Guys and Gals do great work. Look forward to the pictures.
  20. Wonder if the old style FX would fit. Obviously trash the lid, but the armor itself? I am guessing not without some major cutting of arms and thighs at the least. Did they not use FX for Katie? Think I remember it was a major undertaking?
  21. As AFOL I approve! As a Brother of 2 sisters I sympathize! (I remember my brand new xwing on Christmas morning crashed in some blankets on the floor to simulate Degobah and my sister running right on top of it...sigh like she could not see the drama unfolding in the swamps of blaketobah....I was traumatized for life I tell you....)
  22. Just wanted to post a few picks of my Doopys, with scope rail made by me, and Excellent M-19 Scope cast by TK-Leper The great thing about his scope beyond the sharpness of it, is the fact it comes brass colored so it was super easy to do a light coat of paint over it, which made it look like the paint was being worn down, and then scrape off the paint in stressed areas revealing the brass color making it very realistic to my eyes. My goal with this doopy build was to make a trooping blaster that did not require a ton of time to assemble and detail, as when something inevitably happened to it, I would be exponentially more irritated the more time I spent. With that goal in mind I did no modifications to the doopy to make it more realistic other than dremel out the lumps of resin in the front and put real bolts there. I also elected to not put the cocking handle or a spring there partly because It helps with the "Not A Real Fire Arm Officer" look and also because I could totally see that small resin handle snapping off easily. I tried to only do a really light weathering pattern, and yes I know a real Sterling is not silver steel underneath, but I wanted the weathering to be noticeable, and the dark metal of a real sterling is actually pretty subtle, so I used flat steel as a weathering color rather than the more appropriate gun metal color. Anyhoo here she be I call her "Betsy": Oh and edit: I got the scope targeting cross hairs from here: http://www.whitearmo...printout-image/ Thanks BillHag
  23. try the 30-32 inch waist you need for screen cast armor! I wear 36 jeans and 38 dress pants, my side armor on the RS leaves about 4 inches on each side, so I would need a 30 inch waist to fit. Not many American Males are going to fit that anymore.... I challenge armor makers, or at least one armor maker to make a "big Boy Buck" for the kidney! make it 8 inches on each side longer than you normally would which should give most people plenty they can trim off to fit! I bet you would make a mint. I would buy 2 of them!
