  1. would be a tad difficult to wear to say the least. All the details just look flat...
  2. I am 6"1' and my rs does the same. I lengthened the back to kidney straps untill it lined up but it is a large gap. The rs buttplate is flattened from the real suit being stored on its back for so long. I heated it and curved it a bit for a better contour. I think its netter to have a smaller back gap and the ab a bit higher than the large back gap but that may be me.
  3. Rs is actually cast from a real honest to god anh stormtrooper suit. A first generation cast as rs owns it. I think ap came from the gf molds which came from reworked rotj. I am not sure on the ap but i know on the rs.
  4. Hmm maybe he left it in the smuggling compartment with his belt and hans holster and blaster and chewies bow caster.... I choose to believe my hero suit is just a tk before he gets clobbered by the rebels. If i thought of myself as luke or han id run off to the rebel legeon
  5. For me, since a tk lightsaber was not in the movie, I just cant see it as appropriate for an OT TK, maybe a EU Tk but not the OT. But that is just me.
  6. I used a heat gun used VERY carefully to reform some of my edges, you could also use a heat sealing iron or safer on the plastic, but not so much on the hands boiling water to reform the one edge up a bit prior to cutting to give you something to hang onto. or since you are trimming it anyway form the other edge down a bit. the key is to do it in little stages so you don't really mess up.
  7. I have cut my RS suit and my TM suit and my CFO suit the same way. Or close. I did not go quite as far up. (check my sig for links to my suits ) The CFO made Centurion, the TM made EIB, so I would have to say yes its acceptable! Besides in the movies you can see the backs cut out of random TKS. Apparently it was left up to the actor as to if he wanted the backs cut out or not.
  8. The chest is below the AB, but that is sure to be an oversite in wearing rather than assembly. Might want to retake at least the front one with the chest in the right position.
  9. Walmart, Ac Moore, and Trooper Bay are where I have gotten mine. I love the stuff. It allowed me to easily pop off the TK parts and apply the TD parts when I decided to go Sandy.
  10. The original armor was sculpted on a body cast of an english actor by Brian Muir. Each part was hand crafted with no direct copying from Right to left. So each part is similar but subtly different on "real" Stormtrooper armor. As far as the biceps go the indention in one of them is a thumbprint in the mold. For whatever reason it was left there or perhaps put there on purpose. Edit: From RS Propmasters Webpage (they own a real TK Suit) The original Stormtrooper Armour was sculpted by Brian Muir in 1976 over a life cast of Dennis Plenty. The original Ć¢ā‚¬Å“A New HopeĆ¢ā‚¬ armour would go on to be reconditioned and reused in Ć¢ā‚¬Å“The Empire Strikes backĆ¢ā‚¬ with new armour created for Ć¢ā‚¬Å“Return of the JediĆ¢ā‚¬. Until RS Prop Masters offered this New Hope armour NO screen lineage armour was available from the first installment of Star Wars. The armour subsequently created for Return of the Jedi bares little resemblance to the original Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper or sculpture created by Brian. Side note: The Helmet was sculpted by Liz Moore: The Iconic Stormtrooper Helmet was sculpted by the very talented Liz Moore in 1976 before her tragic death. We are lucky enough to own one of the original Ć¢ā‚¬Å“StuntĆ¢ā‚¬ helmets created for the first Star Wars movie from her sculpture, which we painstakingly created an exact 1:1 replica of. This is a fantastic helmet and now made available to the replica Prop and costuming community. This helmet is a favorite for many replica prop collectors as our version maintains many of the the details lost or removed from other original helmet replicas. This also makes it popular with 501st Legion members who know the difference between this helmet and others available and want the most accurate possible. The original helmet is retained in the RS Archive, which allowed us to lavish as much time as required to create the moulds to capture and create this stunning replica. Not trying to Be an RS posterboy, the information is just readily available from their site
  11. Well I think the Top hat Pic should be worth Bonus Points anyway... I see really only one thing that might catch you up: The helmet decals do not seem to simulate hand painting, but maybe if you could say what brand they are (I am pretty sure the stock AP decals are "computer clean") you could prove me wrong. (the traps and tears) and possibly: I think you did a pretty good Job on the shims, but it will be up to the DO to decide if they are "seamless" enough (believe me I feel your pain I had to add 2.5 inches on mine...you get sooooo tired of sanding....) These are suggestions as I do not see anything in the CRL about them but it is something I noticed: The Velcro forearms do meet the letter of the CRL with them being fully closed, but you might think of glueing them as it will make the seam less "fat" The Belt seems to be down a bit, it usually sits just a little below if not just on top of the Ab Button details, Granted there is NOTHING I can find in the CRL that says you have to do this, but it is how the Screen TKs wore theirs and you might think of hitching it up and seeing how you like it on future suit ups. Overall I think its a great build that fits you well and as previously stated the top hat pic is pure win...You need to get Mathias's Painter friend to paint that pic...
  12. Heh Heh Eric! And wow Thalizar, Amazing Sith there.
  13. Stop by this thread: http://www.whitearmo...e-to-find-them/ It will answer alot of your questions. And most New armors like RT-Mod Troopermaster RS etc all use ABS. The best armor is going to be the one that fits your frame better. nearly all Armors have a much better lid than the old FX monstrosity. I am 6'1" and 230 lbs. I have an RS kit, a CFO kit and a Troopermaster kit (and yes an original FX kit) and they all fit differently. The troopermaster fits me the best, but I had to add 2.5 inch shims to close the side. The RS Kit is cast from a real honest to god Stormtrooper Suit and helmet and is arguably the "best" available to the prop replica community, but for my frame the shoulders and backplate of the RS kit (I have to add 2.5 inch shims to it on the sides as well BTW) are really too small and leave alot of black. I have decided to combat that by making it a Sandtrooper where the pouches, shoulder pauldrons, and Backpack hide the parts of the armor that do not fit my frame as well. In all things and especially TK armor YMMV. So my best advice is go to that thread read the first post and decide from there a few makers to contact. Hope this helped.
  14. Hey all just wanted to put up a few pics of the RS Propmasters cast from the famous Pugman background blaster in ESB. This is the raw resin prior to any clean up/painting by me. I will do very minimal clean up as the Pugman blaster was a pretty rough cast thing meant for the background shots in ESB and I do not want to ruin the lineage. I will say this seems to be a very good cast and the resin feels nice and solid, but I would be wary of trooping with it, as the trigger guard, selector switch, and the Y of the stock seem a bit fragile for general trooping. I may be wrong as I am comparing the feel of the resin to the feel of the Doopy Doo resin. I plan on this being a display piece to sit on the shelf next to my Real Sterling and the PP "fishpond" lid I also got from RS, so it works great for that. Since I can not possibly afford real props I love getting my hands on great casts of the real thing! Anyway here are a few pics prior to paint:
  15. Well after getting all 4the OT TKs approved EIB and the ROTJ Centurioned this year my goals for 2013the are a bit less ambitious. Convert my RS tk( since my tm is serving tripple duty )Hey to a TD get my esb vader done.
  16. Oh Noes! I am converting my RS ESB suit to an RS TD suit and was hoping to blatantly steal from your hard work and dedication! Most of the pics are gone! Sob! I loved this build and think it would also help others, it is what inspired me to go for a TD in the first place. If you get a moment I would love to see the links restored! Shiney needs some dirt! Thanks mate!
  17. I will be converting my rs propmasters tk to a td in 2013. I have started the groundwork br removing the shoulder bridges ab buttons and sniper plate and adding the td buttons and sniper. Easy to do as i assembled with e6000 and my rs kit came with td parts. I plan to at least get deployed but am not sure i have the skill for swat as this suit started as a tk trying to rebuild it to match 100% a screen suit may be beyond me. But we will see!
