You know it may even be worth reaching out to DDAY. He may benefit from someone who can product pipes for him in the states. Or sell joint kits with parts from him better made in resin. Like the grip etc...

Oh man, can you upgrade my ebay order to a brass one . I can paypal the difference if you need it. (Or just start a tab ) When it comes to choosing materials flexibility is a what can get you more market share. Talk to DDAY, but him being able to have steel pipes made and aluminum got him my business for sure. Even though steel took longer and cost more it was worth it to me. I think you will make a bunch of your sales in aluminum like DDAY does. But those of us trying to (legally) recreate a blaster of orignal parts steel is really the only option. Its near impossible to solder dissimilar metals so attaching aluminium parts to my steel tube would have to be done with two part bonding. Which honestly may be strong enough, but its just that last little detail where its just not perfect. So for me at least if you had steel grip frame and end cap retainer I would be overjoyed. But at the same time like everyone will say. Aluminum is lighter and better for trooping. But thats why I would buy two.

I understand how the real scope works. But the lenses for the monocular we are putting into the scope works the other way. So in our resin replica scopes without the proper lenses and prisms we are looking through the objective lense and not the eye piece. And our square prism set up makes it upside-down. Yeah I was wondering since we are looking through our scopes upside down and backwards if you could even notice the reticle. I think its funny and the perfect explanation to why stormtroopers can't hit anything.

Ah nice. I just made an offer on your metalmites. Totally need a scope kit. In your boxes do you have an intact grip bracket? Or the bracket that the grip slides over, mine was cut in half. And what is your plan for the butt cap receiver ring? There is serious money to be made for whoever makes the first steel one or even an aluminum one.

I finally got to working on some of my scopes. I learned hollowing out the back end to receive the eye piece lenses assembly is a lt easier with a christmas tree stepped bit. Than using a dozen spade bits. But where did you get the reticle lenses? And do they even work?

I'd look up a build by ukswrath. He had pretty good measurements for how to trim the chest and back. And everything. If you want to do the elastic bands holding down the shoulder boards. In learning from my mistakes leave some more of the top on the back plate for the elastic to go around. I trimmed mine so far the bands aren't really on the back plate.
