  1. Definitely measure twice research again and cut once. I don't think any of us had any experience doing anything like this before out first suit. But as many of us found this after other hobbies if you have any experience building models , particularly resin type you probably have all the experience you could ever gain in using CA super glue. Thus I knew how the glue would act and was able to anticipate and quickly clean up. That's not saying I didn't get my finger stuck. But I found gluing the cover strips very easy using CA glue and holding them for 10 seconds and being able to move on rather than leaving everything clamped overnight. And the pieces I did use E6000 were incredibly frustrating. But everyone is different. There are only two options. If you watch the trooperbay videos and think "I can do that" you probably can. If you genuinely fear gluing your hand to your forehead (JK) E6000 is where you should stay. But get a lot more clamps.
  2. And don't be afraid of CA glue with zip kicker.
  3. One piece a a time and research every piece as you make it. Don't get carried away if you research to much you may forget. Befriend a centurion to ask questions directly on occasion without abusing the privilege. Start with the arms and don't make them to form fitting you pretty much want to trim everything evenly.
  4. I'm really close. I just need a few tiny bits on my helmet. Maybe djust the arms up a little. I need to glue the stap on my thighs. The hooks are drying on my shins as I type so once those are dry I can drill the holes. The belt is still not made but once I'm 100% comfortable with where the snap holes will be it will go together fast. I really just need to paint my boots and start assembling my spare blaster.
  5. I got mine today. I ordered a size ten. and I'm ussually ten wide and they fit pretty good. They are really euro size 43. I've seen scales run size 10 USA to mean 43-44.5 if that means anything to you.
  6. I got one of my pairs of roamers today ordered Aug12-aug26.
  7. My story as well. I emailed the roamer seller and they said they would exchange up a size if I so desired. How fast and how much is up in the air but I'm sure they will be reasonable. They are in the shoe selling biz seems pretty common.
  8. The fabric piece over the ankle that stretches.
  9. Looking good man. I got all my paint just waiting for my boots to arrive. What is the communities opinion on bleaching the fabric around the ancle rather than painting it? I just feel it will look gunked up after a few coats of paint.
  10. I ordered mine last week and amazon said the same thing. But the company sent an email saying they should show much sooner. possibly next week.
  11. The Bass boots are fine, but roaming around recent boot painting threads you come across these Roamers which are better for two reasons. Taller and the elastic is a more even shape on the sides of the seem where the bass points to the front a bit. http://www.amazon.com/Roamers-Unisex-Leather-Jodhpur-Equestrian/dp/B00QWA7U32/ref=pd_sbs_309_41?ie=UTF8&refRID=1EN9WKFFWGEKVREXNR0C Here it is. Scroll half way down to Mr BEaring's post. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28920-which-one-is-the-right-boot/

  13. Dude that scope is wicked awesome. I just odered three monoculars for $6 at banggood.com to try it myself. In regard to the scope markings, and since you ave the freedom to do what you want. Maybe you could challenge the norm. I know there are crosshairs people use from video games but it is a laser weapon not a projectile. I'm no laser scientist but light is affected by gravity a whole lot less than a bullet. Does a laser scope need distance ticks at all? Not that star wars ever followed rules like that. Just a thought.
  14. Things I see. That are as a novice talking to a novice: The gap from the abbs to the kidney on your side needs to be elliminated. I think minimal gap is the last I heard, and I interpret that to mean no gap but if it flexes ok. Your abb bottons look like you trimmed all te edge off. I can't pull a reference but I believe there should be 3-5 mm all the way around the box. On your butt. the lower corner on the front edges tha corner should be trimmed t be a continuation of the angle. Where the chest meets the back at the shouldes I've read te plastic pieces don't meet and here should be an 80mm gap hat is covered nly by the shoulde straps. Only reference I have on that is ukswrath's build page. Why would you cut the eyes? I haven't heard that one yet.
  15. Sweet liquid mask sounds like the way to go. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I257 using Tapatalk
  16. Awesome. I ordered the paint and boots so they are in route. So about 20/30% thinner or paint? And just distilled water for thinner? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I257 using Tapatalk
  17. And the answer is. .... drum roll...... 1 1/4" between the ammo box. So if i used the big circle which seems about an inch across the square will have to be tight. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I257 using Tapatalk
  18. Just get a big rubber sanding block with some heavy then medium grit. You can make that flush in under a minute and look beautiful.
  19. I actually wound up heating the cheek and pushing it out. You can't tell other than the gap is eliminated. I'll measure the ammo boxes as soon as I get home.
  20. So major progess last weekend. Had my mom help with some sewing and got the straps for the torso completed. Did some fit tests on my brother to determine his chest placement. The split rivets need to be painted still. Hammering those in was easier than expected. I bought a second set incase I messed up a few but didn't need them. The nylon straps sag a little. They may need glue. I consider that gap to be minimal. Bt it is not geting any smaller. The bottom opens up on this side. I made a second elastic band for the bottom but I'll see what happens with the belt later. I got some sweet handguards from Sonnenschein. It feels good to have a piece 100% completed. So working on the belt. I know not to use the belt with the recessed squares, thanks to ukswrath. But the rivet covers for the other belt are so tiny an pop way out. It seems like most of the other kit manufacturers have bigger buttons that aren't on a raised box. Can I just use these sand trooper ab buttons to make covers or is the circle part to big? I can't find documentation to the measurments of the circle square or hieght from the belt.
  21. So you didn't thin the white paint at all?
  22. For british shoes with us sizes I'm less worried about excanging them too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I257 using Tapatalk
