  1. I think the best place to start, is right where you did, by introducing yourself and what you are interested in. The next big step is a lot of reading/searching and researching. Have a look at this sub-forum chock full of great topics to get your mind racing. Many of us, myself included, had NO experience in building, props, cosplay etc before getting started. The most important virtual I learned here is patience. Good luck!
  2. I chose not to paint the inside of mine, has not been an issue for me, but for folks that have done it, it looks nice.
  3. This is a very cool setup. Mine is far more 'organized' chaos compared to this. Can we see photos of the next level up: ab,kidney, chest, back and bucket.
  4. it definitely looks better with a new rail attached. I did so with my Hasbro and don;t regret it for a second!
  5. Alright! first cut out of the way, nothing but good times ahead!
  6. I connected my AP Ab/Kidney shims on the inside of the kidney using for a strip of sale sign (more flexible than an interior covers trip). I then covered that with Gaffe Tape (white duct tape will also work). To keep the stress off the shim, I connect my strapping from the main kidney to the Ab.
  7. Nice to see ya over here with the start of the build thread! Have fun!
  8. I leave my shoulder bell/bicep/forearm combo connected but floating until I am sure everything is in order and then slide the combo on. I then put the gloves on after that, as mine won;t squeeze through. with the rubber gloves/rubber hand guard combo.
  9. keep your eyes peeled at Target and Toys R Us regularly. That could pay off eventually.
  10. Thanks for the update boss. Sharing the info right away.
  11. I like this, sometimes I use "Ooops I blinked, take another..."
  12. another great newsletter. well done Comms staff
  13. Another vote for the chest facing out... works great for me
  14. i'm 5'10 and change and close to 180 and i had to shim my AP, so it definitely sounds like your ab/kidney area would need shimming to close (assuming you carry some girth round the middle). Keep an eye on the various new NE build threads, as they will be a good reference for what you would need to do should you get hat kit. While deciding and waiting, have a read through all the threads here Good luck!
  15. I added a small piece of tape as precaution on the snap metal and only placed magnets and clamps to hold the edges down as e6000 cured ...applied no direct pressure on the snap itself.
  16. Congrats on your Centurion trooper!
  17. I used nylon snap plates exclusively with E6000. So far they are holding great after 7 months and 11+ troops.
  18. Looking good. Lots of glue on top for that piece it seems. Just like mine (and all I assume).
  19. Congrats on your EIB appointment trooper!!!
  20. Good luck with your research in the area glen pointed out, use the search and ask questions. You have come to the right place to find all the answers you need to be TK!
  21. Nicely done. Congrats trooper!
