  1. Apparently this is the replica of the very armor they produced in 1976. I'm sooo tempted. I wonder if my bank will finance me.
  2. As Aaron pointed out, the IOC is your best bet. The quick answer is Cosplaysky's Deluxe Imperial Officer costume with some modifications and a Master Replicas Imperial Officer Hat. The IOC forums can help you out with the proper boots, rank and belt accessories. And yes, Jedirobe has horrible everything. Their Officer costumes are not going to cut it.
  3. There is nothing wrong with having someone help or build your armor. There are people here on the forums who will build it for you for a reasonable price. Some members might suggest you build it yourself to get the experience and sense of completion but it is not a requirement. Getting the armor approved depends on how it fits and looks on you, not who built it. Someone can sell their costume after having it approved as Centurion but the person buying it may not be approved at the same level. If someone builds your armor for you, specifically, that should not be an issue. Having said that, you should still purchase your armor from a vetted armor maker. Bad armor is bad armor.
  4. Not without a lot of work. That is way too expensive also. Check out the Getting Started section of the forum. It is filled with every bit of information you need. If you are looking for vetted armor makers, go here first. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Good luck.
  5. The costumes you are seeing were for the 501st exclusive armor they built. There were only a limited number sold. They have not released it to the general public yet.
  6. Being the only Stormtrooper in the entire western part of South Dakota comes with certain challenges. Like figuring out how to represent the Empire in a Christmas Parade. Let's face it, a garrison of Stormtroopers is a force to be reckoned with. A lone Stormtrooper is somewhat less impressive. So for this years Christmas Parade I needed something to help me show off our Imperial might. With that in mind, I mounted a heavy blaster on a side by side UTV and added a gift box on the back. You know, for rebels and such. The tag on the gift box says; To: The Rebel Scum, From: Vader. Who says we don't have a sense of humor in the Empire. My girlfriend borrowed my Scout armor and drove, because Scouts are known for their impressive driving skills. No, we didn't crash. The sponsors of the parade were so happy to have Star Wars characters, we got to slide in right in front of Santa. I was happy to escort the Fat Man so he wasn't accosted by any of the pesky rebel types. There is, of course, an obligatory selfie in front of him. Happy holidays, everyone.
  7. The elastic is way too wide and the toe looks too pointed. Add that to not having the front loop and I would say no. I'm not sure where you saw Imperial Boots for $120 but the website shows them for $90. When it comes down to it, you get what you pay for. I would much prefer to pay more for something that is correct the first time.
  8. This is the first time I've seen a troop for this. Outstanding work. A lot of cops are closet fans.
  9. Has anyone else seen the Finn toy that identifies himself by the designation FN 2187? There was a rumor that Finn was not his actual name. If this is the case are we going to change the TFA troopers designation to FN instead of TK?
  10. It all comes down to this. The movie was made like a western in the 70's. Ever bad guy was a great shot until they took on the heroes. Then they missed and died in comically dramatic ways. Or as Peter Griffin put it in Something, Something, Something Dark Side, "Look, we got four or five of the main characters on this ship, I think we'll be fine."
  11. I have the same issue in South Dakota. I'm it for almost the entire state. We met at CA, I was the Top Gun / X-Wing crossover. I didn't realize you were from this area. Have fun at SDCC.
  12. This is great information. And it's not just for trooping. It should be a regular regimen.
  13. I agree. It says made in the Philippines, didn't they get some of their stuff from there? I thought I had read that.
  14. Awesome. I love doing the Walk For Wishes. Of course, here, I am the only trooper. But, at least there isn't anyone to stand next to me and prove I am short for a trooper.
  15. You are going to have problems with weight if you try to fit it in the armor itself. You would have to really anchor the armor down to the ab plate to keep it from sliding down in back. Perhaps some kind of vest worn on the body with the armor fitting over it? Though there are cool vests available on the market. Sandtroopers would have a great advantage over us with something like this.
  16. The frown on that helmet always reminds me of those women who put too much lipstick on so people think they have bigger lips. It's like coloring outside the lines.
  17. I'm a Deputy Sheriff. Unfortunately the most hated profession in America, it seems. I've been a cop for a bit over 17 years. I'd much rather wear my plastic armor than my real armor though.
  18. It's not just this site. The Imperial Officer and Pathfinders sites are behaving in similar ways. It's very frustrating.
  19. I don't know who those four scouts are in the pictures but they look sloppy. Not even close to properly wearing the costume. That armor is ugly too. Stay away from ebay.
  20. That guy has some serious skills. Incredible. I would have never guessed it was metal just by looking at it.
