  1. My wife managed to snag TD 11138 Close enough, eh?
  2. +1 If you have an alternate scope, I would definitely use it. The one you have now is what stands out to me most. Forgive me for saying so but it looks like one of the "raccooncitypd" who's blasters I have seen come through these applications from time to time. This is the one I mean: http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-STORMTROOPER-E-11-BLASTER-PROP-REPLICA-A-NEW-HOPE-/290774525964?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item43b383280c
  3. Looks great Mat! Nice work on adjusting that thigh ammo pack. Those drop boxes will still need to come out further though. And I think Mathias may have said something about your blaster. It is an excellent scratch build though! Good luck
  4. use an outside source site like photobucket, and use the img code.
  5. Hi Neil. First, excellent job with your FX build. For that make of armor you have done well. However, besides what was mentioned by Mathias I see a few other issues that I believe are holding you back. Ultimately, Mathias is the Officer and he has the final call. However please allow me to point out a few things that I think ought to be adressed... 1. The chest and back look better now, although I think you should lose that black strap that goes between them. Using the method with the straps that attach from the chest to ab, and kidney to back works wonders. However, if you would like to keep it, please ensure it is not visible. 2. The white elastic around your shoulder straps are too large. Take a look at some of the other Centurion requests for the correct type and size of elastic you need. 3. The gap on your side appears to be too much. For EI 1/2" is acceptable, but for Centurion you are looking for: "ideally" a single visible seam line, with no undersuit showing in between. 4. I would consider replacing your thermal detonator. The style you are using is the FX style with the odd parts protruding from the back. This is not only not accurate but puts the clips too close into the center of the TD. 5. I am not sure if the snaps and split rivet on your crotch area should be painted white. In the movie they are not, and the CRL does not call for it. This one is definetly Mathias' call, although if it were me, I would remove the paint. Please do not be discouraged by any of this as you are on the right track. However, this is the Centurion program. To obtain this optional and highest level of costuming excellence, we as costumers, have to demand the highest standards for those who apply. Please take any criticism in stride, and understand what you are trying to obtain, and the level of quality that is required to do so. You can obtain this award, but only with the right level of work into your armor. You are intending to join the best of the best of the 501st Legion's Stormtrooper Corps. Make sure you look the part.
  6. Ben, I think you will be thrilled to hear that the ranks of the Stormtroopers do, in fact, have medics. They are, however, on the side of the Special Operations. Which is okay, because us in the military love that SOC stuff right? The costume you can build is the Novatrooper Medic. You will, of course, have to paint your armor. But that's just part of the fun right? For more info, you can understand what a "Novatrooper" is here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Novatrooper And take a look at the CRL for the Novatrooper Medic here: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_novatrooper_medic Looks like it would be just what your looking for. Hope this helps!
  7. I believe Mason is still engaged in some personal issues that prevent him from currently frequenting these boards. (someone please correct me if I am wrong here) However, there may be some threads explaining this in better detail. Especially check the Incinerator section. BTW, I am originally from Ocala, welcome to the FISD fellow Floridian.
  8. I have seen the pictures of the particular armor you were referring too. The circuitry definetly adds to the "look." I personally like to look like I just stepped off the parade ground- as shiny as possible all day every day.
  9. Ditto on the doopy's. In my opinion, it's the closest you can get without demilling a real Sterling, or using actual Sterling parts. Plus, it's light, it feels solid, and it could not have been easier to build. Never built anything in my life but Legos before the doopys and I slapped it together in 2 days no problem. Could not be happier with my blaster, you can't go wrong there.
  10. Are you an artist????
  11. That's pretty legit! Good work!
  12. Clean build! Ditto on the belt. Also, if you plan on going for Centurion, I think your side rivets will need to be adjusted- Mathias?
  13. It's a signature, or a "banner." I made mine in paint because I have no photoshop skills. I've never even seeen the program, actually. I think most everyone uses photoshop but there are websites out there that you can make your own banner with.
  14. Well earned Keith! Your armor looks much better now! Congratulations and after the work I have seen it it is quite welll deserved!
  15. I can see why you could get confused. Blasters are optional for 501st approval because some countries have strict weapons laws. However, all blue and red requirements are mandatory requirements for EIB and Centurion. Therefore, that makes the blaster become non-optional. Plus EIB and Centurion troopers try to emulate the on-screen Troops as near as possible. What's a Stormtrooper without his blaster?
  16. Yes. As part of the EIB requirements as they are shown in the CRL, a blaster meeting the EI specific details must be present. How copy?
  17. It's like going to bed on Christmas eve! I am very pleased to see you adjusted all of our reccomendations, including the ones that weren't technically requirements. Excellent attitude and you look much better now! Empire worthy work trooper!
  18. I see a few things here Neil, although I don't want you to be discouraged by anything as they are small: 1. Your shoulder bells should be pulled up. They should be almost touching your shoulder straps. Right now they look like they are kindof hanging off. 2. I think you would look better with your thighs raised up. This may also help with your thigh being caught on your sniper plate. 3. Unfortunately, this one makes this unapprovable: Your right shin has the overlap facing the outside. This is a problem I have seen before with the FX armor. To adjust it you can simply reverse the overlap and glue a new cover strip. Great job overall, and as I said don't get discouraged as these are easy fixes and the first two I mentioned are just suggestions I think would add to the overall appearance of your armor. After all, EI was designed to recognize excellence and go the "extra mile" for the correct look.
  19. My wife was approved by our GML on the 4th of August. He applied for her number that same day. That was also the same day we put in her application to the 501st through the Legion website. After almost a month now she still doesn't have a number. I got ahold of our GML before Celebration and he said he needed to look into it because it shouldn't be taking that long. I got my number in 3 days. I know with Celebration and everyday "real" life, folks are busy. But something seems wrong here. Anybody have any insight into what's going on? Or better yet, anybody know the folks in charge of issuing these numbers they can ask what the hold up is? She's starting to get cranky and you know the saying... If mama aint happy, aint nobody happy.
  20. Debbi, AKA Ladysewforus, makes THE best neckseal I have ever seen. It's a little more expensive though. However, of the three neckseals I have owned, and the different types on this sight I have seen, hers are by far the best quality and look the best. On top of that, her customer service is absolutely phenomenal. I would pay the extra just for how well I was treated. *end rant*
  21. Nice work Eric. Thanks for staying on this and figuring it out!
  22. Well that's good news. At least we haven't all lost our minds. Yet...
  23. Yeah, I can see it all by it's lonesome up there in the corner. But it needs to get back where it belongs!
  24. Still no bueno. I even tried changing my theme to see if that may have had something to do with it. I'll give it tonight and see if it fixes it by tomorrow. I'll keep you updated.
  25. Negative ghost rider. I refreshed and refreshed again and it's still not showing up. Maybe give it a few days or something?
