TK5492 replied to Clamps's topic in Request Centurion Status
Wow. You have done an outstanding job. I think this will be an easy one for Mathias. You've definitely done your research and covered all the bases beautifully. Plus your armor fits you perfectly. Impressive... most impressive. -

Good for you Ian! I remember when you first came around with your Jedi Robe armor. You have come along way since then, and clearly learned alot. Right on man! -

TK-5981 Requesting ANH EIB Status [ATA]
TK5492 replied to dcr5595's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Alot of good points have already been covered. However, you vocoder could definitely use a touch up. It looks like you have painted it too low, and it's not covering the entire vocoder. It's really clear in your first picture. You just haven't filled up that entire area. I showed here where it looks like you need to paint: (sorry about the editing, I don't have a very steady hand in paint) Not necessarily an EIB requirement, but it would make your helmet look better for sure. -
Owen91's ESB TK build [T/MC]
TK5492 replied to Owen91's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I know what problem you are referring to. DO NOT jump straight to the heat gun. Glue it first, and then I Promise the velcro will do it's job. It's very difficult to tell how the plastic will come together when it is apart but TRUST ME- it will be fine once you get that front glued shut. -
Owen91's ESB TK build [T/MC]
TK5492 replied to Owen91's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
For EIB the overlapping method is acceptable. However, I STRONGLY recommend using the coverstrip method. It's easy to do, more accurate, and for some reason it looks WAYYYY better IMHO. You only do your build once. Do it the right way the first time so you won't regret it later. Also, even if you don't build it to Centurion standards right away, you will always be ready to do so in the future. A few things here and there are much better than having to pull apart all your armor pieces down the road. Even if you are going for only 501st acceptance, I still say go with the coverstrips. You won't be sorry. BTW I was formerly with the 4th Florida Infantry Co. G, and later, the 97th Pennsylvania Fife and Drum Corps Co. A. Not into reenacting anymore, now living in Japan, but nice to see a fellow living historian. -

I hate to bring this up as there has already been so many adjustments, but I would also recommend that the tube stripes are moved up. Right now they are too far from the "valley" between the cheek and tube. I believe it is supposed to be about as far away as the width of a standard pencil? These look about an inch or more. -

Excellent work. With how big that AM is, you did an awesome job fitting it. Looks to be a quick pass. Clean work on the blaster, too. -
TK Boots worth the wait?

Looks like everyone's got you covered, but yeah, TK boots are legit and worth the time. DO IT. -
RE- TK 8354 Requesting ESB EIB status[260][ATA]

Congrats Gary! The father-son bond here is touching. I wish I could share something this awesome with my dad. -
No worries at all, John.

Well he has the double left shin problem that alot of people tend to have lately with the FX. Those type shins also seem to be quite small. As a runner I have very large calves, and I had this same problem when I had the FX armor. However, when I went to correct lineage shins, the problem went away. Also, new ones would be more accurate and molded for the individual leg so they would, therefore, look better and fit better. I just gave my opinion, no one is holding a gun to his head...

Yeah I have a Ladysewforus one that is staggered, which I love. I really like the way the staggered feels, but it would be cool to have a latex one as well.

Why is the ammo belt offset in tutorial?
TK5492 replied to 81artmonk's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I have never seen it offset before. It may have something to do with the side of the belt that will make the overlap. I wouldn't reccomend it though. Just center it. That's what I've always done and never had an issue. -
If you can afford it, (please don't take offense, just trying to remain nuetral) I would get in contact with some of the manufacturers about new calves. I know ATA has great prices on his individually sold parts, and he's pretty quick too.

I'm guessing your latex neck seals will probably be the most screen accurate available? Are you going to make them staggered like the ones Luke and Han wear?

If it's too messed up you can always just have him sign in to his account on your computer and submit that way. Pretty easy. -
'nuff said.

Hm... the paint in the that one looks different than the ebay one.

TK-6375 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion status [fx]
TK5492 replied to Neo's topic in Request Centurion Status
Looks much better now. Great work with it! I hate to be a stickler about it but the cover strips aren't supposed to come down over the raised portion of the bottom of the thigh, just right up to it. That would also make the cover strip lay flat, as I can see it is angling up to accomodate the changing surface. -
I like the comment you left on that discussion, Karin. I'm not educated in recasting. Could he have recasted parts to create those molds, or can you only make molds like that by actually "tooling" them? And what's up with the holes in the molds?

TK-6280 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status[56][RT*]
TK5492 replied to MattyJ's topic in Request Centurion Status
Congratulations! Excellent work with the blaster, and great attitude with the adjustments. -
Looks like another TE derived recaster on ebay. May want to steer people clear of this if that's, indeed, what it is. Thoughts? *I am not interested in purchasing this armor. I am fully aware of the reputable nature of the armor manufacturers on this site. I am posting this to check with the experts on the lineage, and whether it is a recaster to warn potential buyers away from* See below... http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-STORMTROOPER-SANDTROOPER-ARMOR-PROP-KIT-WITH-HELMET-/180976330647?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2307a797

TK5492 replied to MattyJ's topic in Request Centurion Status
Wow, that's much better. Beautiful blaster. I would personally recommend, though, that you cut out the sides of the front sight to give it a more realistic appearance. Other than that- spot on!
