  1. Someone posted about using a hockey garder system but I can't seem to find it on here. It looked like it was easy and pretty good to use. If someone remembers could they post it here or the link?
  2. I personally use Industrial strength velcro. If you put it on and let it cure before you attach anything it's pretty strong and the holding power is pretty good too. The plus is if for any reason you need to swap out or change or repair it's easy to remove or get out without leaving anything behind. The two sided tape works well for certain applications. It's hard to remove and sometimes gets messy.
  3. Problem I have found is that no matter what I do, it still allows the thighs to slide down lower than they should be. I've tried the garter, and the belt. It always ends up sliding down about an inch or two.
  4. Having put on my armor, I can safely say that there will never be a fetish club of troopers like there is for plushies.
  5. Thinking about it, someone should come up with a small velcro flap in the undersuit, so all you would have to do is, unsnap your cod piece and flip the flap and go. Since it's under the cod piece no one would ever see it and it wouldn't effect the look. I mean most people use a snap system so the cod piece could just lift up to go.
  6. Let me be clear. The picture is only as a reference to the gap between the thighs and the cod/kidney piece. The photo isn't suppose to be how my entire armor looks. With that said, I cannot take my thigh pieces any higher. In the photo they look low, however mine are not that low and yet I still have a gap like in the picture. If I take my cod piece lower, than it doesn't sit where it's suppose to. Here's where I am confused. my top half of the armor fits perfect. there are no gaps and it's right where it needs to be. However, if I adjust the top half to accommodate the lower half than the lower half will be corrected, but the top half will than be wrong. See my dilema? All I am asking is can I have a gap like that between the thigh pieces and the cod/kidney pieces and still be ok. I have seen videos on this site and other photos where there is the same situation and from that I assume it would be ok.
  7. Where do you buy split rivets? I have been to home depot and Lowes and no one there has even heard of them? No one at my local hardware store either.
  8. It's not how wide they are, it's that they are as far up on my thigh as I can have them without having them cut into my crotch. They can't go any higher. I was just using the photo to illustrate the gap. Mine actually go higher than the photo but there's still a significant gap.
  9. Ok, tried on my armor for the first time the other day after working on it. Here's my dilemma. I have to much of a gap between my thigh pieces and my cod piece, also the same problem in back. My thigh pieces are as high as they will go and I can't bring down my back and butt pieces lower as it would end up in an unacceptable gap between the kidney and butt pieces. I am 6ft tall and I am assuming that is what's causing this problem. I took a look at the Stormtrooper HWT and that photo reference for the costuming standards is about what my costume looks like with regard to the thighs and lower part of my costume having a large gap in the legs/cod piece area.--------------
  10. Yes I can do that, but that doesn't answer my question as to the sizing. I can assume from your answer that I need to have it short so that both front and back are flush against my body?
  11. How much room or how long should the under-strapping(shoulder) on the chest and back pieces be? Here's my problem. I made them and fitted them and the front fits great, but the back piece gaps when worn(around the shoulder blade area). When I pull the strapping forward, it corrects the gap. I've seen some screen captures and some picts on this site, where the individual has little to no gap between the front and back pieces where it meets on the shoulders. One problem I have is that if I shorten that distance, I cannot fit my head through the opening. Do I need to make it short enough so that there is no gap in the back piece when resting on my body? Or is something else going on?
  12. How do you mount the charging plug on the inside? When I dry fit it, it won't come all the way through the channel. It's too large. And if anything is in the chamber, like a plug and spring, there isn't enough room to have it inside? The only way I have found to make it work is the way it is in this tutorial. I have yet to see a solution to this problem.
  13. Length wise. If I remember correctly the one I viewed had you measure 20 inches from the left/right which would put it off center of the belt. from what I have been reading in this post, just center the belt on the canvas seems to be the advice.
  14. I was looking at the tutorial on how to assemble the ammo belt to the cavas belt, and they off set the ammo belt. It's not centered on the cavas. Why is this? What are the exact measurements on installing the ammo belt to the canvas belt?
  15. Honestly, I found it cheaper to just buy it from Trooperbay. After I purchased everything to make it myself it added up to much more than what Troopbay is selling it for.
