Should Have My TK ID In A Day Or Two Thanks for the support Jim, and thanks for nit picking my armor Travis, and Eric. I am taking everyone's advice, and making adjustments tonight. I dropped my cod piece down about an inch tonight which brings up the torso a bit. I took Darth Alohas advice and lengthened up my chest to back straps and this brought the chest and back down a bit. I did a quick test fit in just my boxers (sorry no pictures) and was happy with the results. An unforeseen side effect of bringing the torso up was that it closed in my side gaps just a little. The only possible strapping I have left is attaching the back to the kidney, or running a strap from my chest to my back under my armpits to keep the chest and back pieces in place better. Once I am satisfied with that I will order some electronics and after a few troops I may close in the thighs some. As for my TK ID I received this message from my GML today. You should receive an email from the main legion server in the next day or two with your ID#. Congratulations!

My finished Hasbro/Doopydoos E-11

Great job and I don't think the weathering is all that far over the top. It doesn't look like a Hasbro anymore and that was what you were going for.. -
iPhone in your helmet?

I love this idea and have wondered myself if something similar could be done. I will be watching this thread. -

I wish I knew more about electronics. Where can I buy these modules, and find more info on assembling them? -
You may need to post some pictures so we can see a bit better how you have it strapped up. From what I have learned in my experience is you just run the suspenders from the ab and kidney plates, and have the crotch and butt connected by elastic pieces. If the butt still slips try to wrap the belt around it some to keep it in place.

I couldn't take it any more and slapped together a quick, easy, and temporary TD tonight. This was the only known part I still needed before being able to submit my photos for 501st acceptance. I started with the back piece of plastic everyone recommends not using and then added some one inch clips I picked up at Tandy leather during one of my many snap runs. Since this is only a temporary thing I glued the metal clips directly to the plastic. I wouldn't do this as a permanent solution I just want to get some pictures of me with the whole get up on. Not too bad for a temp job. Once I get the accurate clips from Jess in I should be up to EIB standards. Hopefully I can find some one willing to snap the pictures of me and have the TK number added to my profile this week.

PAINTING THE VOCODER Was going over the CRL tonight when I noticed this. Vocoder (vertically ribbed chin detail) is painted black. So I pulled off RT-Mod Rob's sticker and I busted out the paints and here is what it looks like now. I am just two belt clips away from 501st now.

Finally have TK armour ordered
NastyNoah replied to TrooperD's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Snaps, setter tool, E-6000, hammer, etc... I thought I was ready when my box arrived and then everyday for two weeks I had to go to a different store each night to buy more tools and supplies. Save your self some trouble and buy 50 line 24 nickel plated snaps now. You can find them at Tandy leather or on eBay. -
I based my strapping system off of the same website. It's not how they did it in ANH but I think for what all of us are doing with the armor its perfect.

I have RT and love it, but have never been able to compare it side by side to anything else.

I'm using velcro on mine but may upgrade to snaps soon. Industrial strength self adhesive velcro. I just glued the Velcro to my belt with E-6000

Should I trim my butt plate?
NastyNoah replied to NastyNoah's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Wow I am so glad I am getting advise from Rob. After playing around with the fitting a bit more today I am going to leave the butt plate alone. When wearing everything the butt is only about a 1/4 inch to big. Not much of an overlap, just enough to concern me. The belt does a great job of hiding all this anyways. Thanks to everyone for chiming in on this. I hate to think what my armor may have ended up looking like with out the great resources we have here. -

To be screen accurate you want to remove the return on the forearms. I will be watching this build. -
