  1. I will soon. My right knee had a run in with a hedge trimmer the other day, so my mobility is a bit non existent on my leg and is hindering fitting the armor to get it strapped together.
  2. Thanks so much dude, this has definitely been a fun project so far. Assuming I get this finished up and approved by September, I will absolutely have it at GraniteCon!
  3. So, a little over a year ago I invested in an NE kit. It arrived in it's large brown box and I was immediately overwhelmed, as the only full costume I had built prior was an ANH Tusken Raider. I had assembled some parts, started on strapping/snaps and put the helmet together only to place everything back into the box it shipped in. Fast forward to November/December 2014 when I decided to start converting it into a Death Trooper. The book was one of my favorites from the EU, I'm a horror enthusiast and I LOVE weathering things, so I figured this would go from an intimidating project into a fun one. I am nearing completion of this, but I thought I would share some pictures. Most of the body (still need to match the boots a bit more). I am very happy with how the weathering turned out on this. I've seen photos from conventions that people have taken of Death Troopers, not realizing they are a "zombie" and referred to them as "beat up" or "deafeated". I tried my best to convey the "dead" look, so people are less confused. A close up of the chest. I had laid some browns and grays down for the initial weathering and went over everything with a grimy yellow. A detail shot of the weathering on the legs. And finally a close up shot of the helmet. This was taken a week or two ago and I have since touched up the weathering and given it a matching wash of yellow grime to match the rest of the armor. I still have to assemble the belt, do some final sizing on the legs and get everything strapped up. Thanks for looking.
  4. So, I started working on the helmet a bit tonight. I spent quite a bit of time getting the cap and back lined up properly. There are guides "built in" to the molds, but for some reason, mine weren't lining up properly, leaving the traps very obviously off set. Once I managed to get the two pieces straight, I trimmed straight down on both sides of the "back" from the rear bottom corner of the trap. I used a piece of masking tape as a guide for where the bottom of the trim will sit on the brow. That is it for now, I will keep updating as I make progress.
  5. So, like many others, I am starting a build thread of my NE Armor kit. I will try to update as often as I can. I received my brown box from TupperwareTK today via UPS. I have to say, I am incredibly impressed with how well everything was wrapped and packed (TupperwareTK must be a Tetris master). Of course, this wouldn't be a build thread without the "ALMOST everything laid out" picture. (This was also the moment where all I could think was "what did I get myself into"). My TKboots also arrived yesterday. These are so much nicer than I had expected. My white canvas belt from Tkittell showed up Wednesday and I am currently waiting on my holster and neck seal from Darman. As for now, I am starting on some snap plates and figuring out how everything fits, where I need to trim, etc. Thanks for looking.
  6. Thanks for the kind words. I'm pretty new to the whole "prop building" and "toy modding" thing and I'm starting to get the hang of it. By the way, the toy pictures on your Tumblr are awesome. I do the same exact thing!
  7. Thanks! The Doopydoos kit definitely brings the Hasbro a long way.
  8. To each his own, right? What did you mean by me needing to look at a picture of a real Sterling? For reference? I was going for a more stylized (for lack of a better word) look with the weathering on this one. I plan on going for a much more "realistic" weathered look on one of the next kits I build.
  9. Thanks. I definitely agree, after taking a step back and looking at it, it does seem a little much.
  10. Just got around to finishing my Hasbro E-11 mod with the Doopydoos skin kit last night. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Just thought I'd share a picture of it here.
