I'm not sure. I mean, we were planning to go Friday. If we can get a hotel (I'm on the wait list... stupid wait list grumble) for Friday night, that isn't 100 miles away, I'll stay 'til Saturday. However, the drive for one day isn't worth it. And Mark won't want me trooping the whole time, so that takes the fun out of that. But I'd like to be there for the Photo and some Droid Hunt action... Blah blah blah ginger blah blah blah ginger blah blah. What's your plan?

TK-6817 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status[39][TM*]
LadyInWhite replied to a topic in Request Centurion Status
Wow, looks fantastic! -
OK, between Vern, Walt, and me, we're gonna have to duke it out with a game of TWISTER!!!! They were just suggestions, but yes, you're right, they were my own standards. I did say he was lookin' good! Now LEFT HAND on RED...

Thanks for all you do, and for making me feel like a part of our community, and for letting me pick on you sometimes!

Just tiny tweaks... here's what I observe: belt is low - bring it up to the bottom of the button plate sniper plate is a little low - looks like it's falling off? Could be angle of photo perhaps raise the drop boxes a bit not critical but I'd bring your shoulder bells higher up / closer to the shoulder straps and i may be entirely wrong here (or it's not even important), but by this reference and others I used (because this was a huge deal for me), there are 3 ammo boxes to the left of the center strip, the gap is at the bottom of the center strip, and 2 boxes are to the right (outside) of it. Need pictures? Hope you find that helpful and not annoying!

Isaac's AM build - newbie- picture heavy[*AM]
LadyInWhite replied to theisaac's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I used a sharpie plus the bib on the neck seal covers it even better. I was gonna say from your pics - tuck your butt in! I know you got a lot of advice already, but being in a similar situation I say cut the return edge off only, and if it doesn't tuck under the kidney then you can cheat a little shim in there (something I learned from clones). Just a about a 3x6" shim, 3 inches glued on the back top of the butt, 3 inches free-floating sticking up. Tuck that puppy under the kidney/belt and it won't pop out any more. That said I've yet to apply mine... still a theory. Okay demote that to "thought" only. *Ducks while the experts shoot down my theory* -
Beer schmeer, I got me some o' dat girth too. You look pretty sexy in there. Or is that the beer talkin?

Ha I discovered this the hard way. Fortunately, I lacked hand strength to cut so much and rediscovered the exacto blade.

I concede to the gents. If you can lower it instead of cutting, always do that! -
Another AM armor build[*AM]
LadyInWhite replied to silverBoyd's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looks good so far. Is your chest strapped to your ab yet? Seems to be sticking out. You'll want a nice little overlap there, not too much. -
First, MAN that totally stinks! Second, I think Lewis (? brain exhausted) just posted he has a new set of E-11s just done or just about to be done... lemme see if I can find the link. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=19771

Andrea's Build Thread [*AM]
LadyInWhite replied to Pickles's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Andrea, lookin' great! Love your smile, too! Thighs are my enemy. Here are a couple tips from me as a lady, not an expert builder/TK: Removable glue (e6000) is your friend. You never have to feel like you're making something permanent in case you have to fix it. What Jenny said. And I like Jenny's rig with the velcro. Mine is similar but with buttons. (it's a hockey thing) I don't trust velcro. Thighs: Get them to go as high as you can, but not clashing with the cod. The cod is a pain, it kind of goes where it goes. For me, that's usually biting right into my inner thighs on some days, but perfect on others. (??) Your butt plate looks like it's hugging fine. And possibly tapping against the top backs of your thighs. I suggest trimming the back of the thighs a bit so you don't pinch yourself between them, esp. when the butt plate tucks under properly. If you look at some good butt shots, you'll see how the contours of the tops of the thighs follow the contours of the bottom/sides of the butt plate. By the way, it's never gonna sit right on your bum, so don't stress it. Definitely trim a little more from the neck on the chest piece. That thing will choke the crap out of you that high up! You asked about tapering the bottom of the thighs more: well I had to do this three frickin times, so you might do what's comfortable, troop a couple times, and then adjust. Rinse repeat. They do look like they're a little wide. We gals have a more conical shape to our thighs than the gents. Your sniper plate looks like it might jam up against the thigh, which means your ammo boxes on the right might also be in the way... I would trim about 1/4 to 1/2" off the bottom of your shins. They'll sit a little higher on you when your boots are on, too. I believe trimming the AM chest is one of the "to dos" in making it more accurate, right? So where you have it looks fine (others who are better at judging this might give better opinion!), just be sure that bottom is going to still cover the top of the ab. I also trimmed a lot off the top of my ab to account for the "underwire" effect, so I had to be careful about that and it was too little coverage for a while (ab kept popping up over the chest). Whew! I am supposed to be in bed, but a girl's gotta help a girl out. Great work and keep it going! -
Armour marks - Any tips?
LadyInWhite replied to nai-retep's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Oh noes, even Maguaiar's compound? It did such beauty and wonders for my shine! But ultimately, Novus 2 is great for touch-up color removal and re-shine. -
Was able to grab a midnight dessert & coffee (& poutine) with Lori-Ann and Allen... had a wonderful time, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I feel like I have two new family members

Ooooh, I really like Vern's set-up.... but if you don't have a workbench area like that, a metal ruler, some spring clamps, and a cutting board will do. There are 2-3 pages just on how I did make-shift score-n-snap in my tutorial below.

ROFL. Maybe in my mind there's a difference between "off topic" and "totally off topic??"

How to build knowing that body size will change?
LadyInWhite replied to Ripcode's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
I'm not sure what size you are now and what you're going for, but if you start bigger to fit now, it's a lot easier to trim down later. I had to shim my sides on my AP to account for some extra "beer belly" girth, but as I lose that body fat (albeit slowly) I can remove the shims and adjust accordingly. Also my thighs were 2" bigger when I started, quite conical (and comical) - now they're better but I still have hips that stick out, giving me what I perceive to be a very girly look. So my advice would be, with a grain or two of salt, if you really want to be wearing it now, build for now, and then when you are at your goal size, trim it down. I wouldn't do it along the way, so it might seem a little big after a while (a good thing!), until you're ready to trim down permanently. If you can wait, if you think you'll be to goal size in, say, 30 days, then build what you can that isn't going to be as specific, and wait on things like your thighs and ab/kidney. -
Anyone in Calgary up for a beer or dessert tomorrow night? Email me hockeygoon at the gmail... I'll be with work peeps but can ditch for an evening snack or something. You'll just have to head my way, whatever hotel I'm in... I will email ya back with info. Land around 6:30, so should be settled by 8.

When I create fictional names in my stories, I start with translations and then work from there, tinkering with sound and spelling to create other effects when possible. Then again, sometimes people complain that my names are too hard to read... I try to tame them but everyone's perception is different. I like the addition of In- in front of sith names like Darth INvader, Darth INsidious... when that was removed I got kind of bleh about the whole thing.

Guess this is my BUILD thread!

I had thought of that as well, but sometimes you get your heart set on something... LOL. AP bucket is just dandy, I might even admit I'm partial to it. -
