  1. Woohoo congrats Ingrid! Go SCG!
  2. I had a horrible experience with Doopy Doos, can't recommend them at all.
  3. Once you become a Legion member you'll have full access to the merch forums.
  4. The iComm doesn't come with a mic. If you ordered an Aker 10 watt amp from Jim, the Aker is what comes with a mic. I personally have been trooping with that mic for a year and never had any issues.
  5. armor back in stanley, bucket in my display case, blaster goes on collection shelf. the mg-15 is displayed in the living room, not sure where to put the t-21 yet. All costumes go in bins and are in closets.
  6. You need to drink water, otherwise you will dehydrate and pass out. Don't put yourself into risk for fear of having to use the restroom. The night before a troop I start drinking a lot of water, and I drink the day of and before a troop as well. You aren't going to be suited up all day... 1, 2 maybe 3 hours most usually. I generally don't have a problem. And again if you really had to go, then go suit down and go. You're a volunteer, its not like you are going to be penalized for having to use the bathroom...
  7. If I had an emergency I'd have to excuse myself and suit down.
  8. Along with the already mentioned items... I can't raise my arms up all the way, or fully bend them.
  9. Congrats Tom on your overwhelming victory!!!!
  10. Picked one up for my sandy build. Great tutorial, thanks! This bucket is going dirty and replacing my AM. Can't wait!
  11. I qualified and I have no brain. Because if I did have a brain, I would not have let myself get sucked into the madness we call costume building. You will be fine!
  12. IP'S aren't tied to anyone in particular. Its very possible there was a spambot or such robot server on the IP address you currently have, and that IP was blocked. Then, said server loses IP for whatever reason and it goes back to the DHCP pool. Now, you come along one day and your ISP gives you that IP address for your modem. Boom, you are now blocked. So, you just have to send that email so they can unblock your IP. In the mean time, they will probably block another IP that is causing problems. It's easy for me to say, block all of russia or china on my .htaccess file for my blog. But, when you have a site (like FISD) that is meant to allow access to members all over the world, you can't just out right block a country that is known for robots. The only other option is to block IP's, which unfortunately can affect real people sometimes. Cat and mouse game it is.
  13. I always take about 5-7 clean/new paper towels with me in my bin. When I suit down I wipe the insides down where sweat/moisture have built up. Toss it in the stanley, head home and then when I get home I just leave the lid open overnight to let it air out. Close up next day, has been fine so far.
  14. Happy Birthday FISD and thank you Daetrin, past and present staff for building such a massive resource of information over the years. I would not have been able to do a TK without this site!
  15. Derek if you are doing ANH make sure to use the top buttons in this pict http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m63g5rE18v1r1ht37o1_1280.jpg You won't need the bottom ones. Also you have a (tiny) little more you can trim around those. Looking good!
  16. Manuel I'll gladly pay you if you could build a kit for me. This is amazing work!!!!
  17. Gotta be a certain size (pixel size) x/y and also can't be larger than a certain file size (kilobyte size) Mine is 600x129 at 135k
  18. Keep your head up buddy! Prayers sent!
  19. One thing I'm going to point out from experience. When I first got my armor, I put in an FRS radio into my bucket to talk to other troopers. I wired up a special PTT button in my helmet that I could press when I wanted to talk. Then, i put on my armor, and found out I could not bend my arms enough to be able to push the button. That, and no one else uses an FRS radio so, i ripped it out. I use Jim's Aker and iComm and it works great. My iPod shuffle plugs into the line in on the Aker and that gives me my TK comm traffic loop. I would love to be able to use my iPhone while suited up, incase I had to talk to my wife or call someone. But for me that would mean my phone would have to be put somewhere, probably my back piece. And then like you said I'd need bluetooth. I only have a 4 and again, no way to bend my arms enough to push a button. So how would I activate a headset to make a call or answer. Finally... I just don't feel comfortable putting my $600 dollar phone into my armor. I put my valuables into my stanley, I lock my stanley with padlocks and then put the keys into my TD. Someone got their blaster stolen right out of their holster, I wouldn't want that happening to my phone. In the bucket would be ok but again with my 4, I don't see how I could get my bluetooth to activate without having to press a button and on top of that, with squirrel fans going inside probably would be too much air/noise to work properly. Just my experience. I'd recommend you build your armor and make it wearable. Put it ALL on, then figure out how to do your bucket.
  20. Made a stand today for my Hyperfirm E-11. Pretty simple design. Photos here: http://www.tk3425.com/?p=1645
