My new baby - all metal E-11 replica

It was a pleasure for me to help, just give the favour back to someone else who needs help. -
I just ordered one of his 10 part sets. "To have" is better than "to need".

Requesting Denix to do the L2A3
Lichtbringer replied to moonwalker's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
There are several companies/websites in Germany that sell Denix in their Internet-shops - if they sell a gun-replica free to everyone (at least over 18) as the usual Denix stuff, then all needed permissions are handled by Denix and approved via the BKA mark. Then you are completly free to own and display it at your home, as long as you take care that noone has access to it without your knowing/OK. (same as with securing your kitchen knifes, deko-sword, car, garden/splitting-axe, or lawn mover from any misuse - as the owner you are responsible when someone uses your stuff to harm or threaten anyone else) If they wouldn´t offer it (or only to those customers with needed permission) - then you better don´t have it without having the permission, too ...... no matter if bought secondhand or sneaked over any border. -
Requesting Denix to do the L2A3
Lichtbringer replied to moonwalker's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
As it was never a real weapon no Denix needs any certification in Germany. And it´s deco status is approved and confirmed by the BKA mark, the rhombic symbol stamped in the metal. The Denix Mauser has it on the left sided recess above the trigger, and the MGC Mauser has it stamped on the underside of the mag cover. BUT - these deco weapons are still not allowed to be carried or displayed in public, nor freely approachable to any visitor of the house - due to them looking as a real weapons, they fall under the "Anscheinswaffen"/"Gun lookalike" para....... Not useable for trooping, but for displaying in your house/apartment in a closed showcase under glass (or whatever you do to assure noone can grab it an toy with it in public). The same rules as with any deactivated real gun. -
Contacting Doopy doos and blaster springs
Lichtbringer replied to Sharkdiver289's topic in General Weapons Discussion
It´s always a question of the point of view - in my opinion a massive piece of rubber is awsome, too - but not meant in a nice way. I wouldn´t know what to do with it if it was gifted to me - i want a tube with holes, slots to look in, t-track stuffed in holes, details and so on...... My E11 is made from a uncut real L2A3, so i´m not in the market for any of the 2 rubber/resin versions, and i´m glad you´re satisfied with your Sci-Fire - but if these 2 would be the only available versions out there and i would need one (and no metal allowed), i would go the Doopy-route. It just looks nicer vor me. -
Dull drill - use a new one.

Just checked my M38 1943 No.7, and it´s numbers are on it´s top. And you are right, the "rearbell" is part of the casting, nothing loose or adjustable. Damn, one day i need to grab a real M19, too.

You did a great job on this. If you really miss it, you always can start a new one for the MGC-Templates. But i´m sorry i can´t help on them, as i have no MGC-Sterling. -

Stainless? Ouch. Most types of stainless are a pain to drill/saw/mill, to work in any way - you better try if you can work with it to get it into a needed shape. Try to drill one of the needed 12mm holes, and then multiply the needed effort. I have a mill and a lathe, and i refrain from using stainless whenever it´s possible to use something else. -

Be my guest. That´s what a forum is for ..... sharing. To the t-track: the "bottom" plate is 13,5mm wide and 1,7/1,8mm high, the rounded chanel on it´s underside is ca. 7mm wide and 0,9mm deep. Overall high is 7mm The upper part is not that easy, due to it´s rounded nature. My best guess is 3mm just under the top dome curvature - and 4-5mm where it meets the bottom in a small round edge (depending where you measure, top of the rounded edge (4mm) or bottomside (5mm).) And as usuall: All on your own risk, and without any guarantee. -

Upload is running. Having the correct dims of the track wouldn´t really help, Ginos fanmade tracks are the only known stuff with completly correct size. If it´s worth the requested price is a personal decision. Imho Marvs found t-track is the best - but again ... personal decision. But i will have look on my comp at work, iirr i have the accurate measurements on it. Upload is ready, you have access now. -

Dims are coming - gimme your mail-address, i have a good amount of pics with caliper measurements. Oh, and the outer dia is not 42mm (maybe if measured with a ruler), it´s 41,3mm. -

Not sure about copyright issues, but if you give me your mail-addi, i can send you a pdf of the sterling user handbook. No idea if it is helpfull for making the templates, but maybe worth a look? -

I agree with Vern, up to a certain point. His plans are good enough for a plastic 40mm pipe build, what we need are as accurate as possible plans of the real deal. In 38mm. That would be a great improvement over his plans. And everyone who is able to use/understand these plans would then be able to tweak whatever and wherever it´s needed to make the build he wants from the available data. We need the definite measurements, not a chaos with the need to filter the shortcuts between variants all the time. Any adjustment in size and functionality can be made by the builder. (The builder would also be able to tweak them for a high accurate plastik build if wished....). But the point to start, the drawings/plans, should be as close as possible, without any aberration. Not beeing a native english speaker i´m not sure if it´s understandable what i meant ...... I can measure my "real Sterling build E-11" if needed to build myself another, but nonetheless i think that really accurate plans without any size/availability-tweaks would be a wonderfull thing for everyone who wants to go the extra mile for a "real" metal E-11. -

My pleasure. 1,5" is also no regular size here in Germany - but in the metric system many tubes are available in 1-2mm steps, so asking in any metalworking shop can help. They can easily check their cataloques if they don´t have it in stock, or they know where you might get it. -

Australia (it was hard to find out you call it "pipe", not "tube"): Steelpipe 38 x 1,5mm, full length, only pickup (Wetherill Park, New South Wales):--------- Steelpipe 1,5" x 1mm, cut to length, only pickup (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia): --------- Exhaust pipe 1,5" x 16 gauge (no idea what that is and if it fits), does ship:------------- You also might check your local exhaust shop or car parts store. -

The MGC sight is bend from sheet metal, not the Sterlings. -

The rear sight is milled from a solid piece - bottom curved with the tubes diameter, the top with the obvisiously "half circle" and a slot of 11mm along the length for the functional parts.
