  1. It is still possible to shim the other armors and make it appear seamless.
  2. Hey there! I'm from the NER! I'm sure an admin will get to you as soon as they can. Make sure to post a Hello so we know you're there. Lots of nice people willing to help out. I'm almost done with a Sand trooper build so I may be of help if you have questions. Hope to see you there soon!
  3. Sometimes troopers don't make the opening at the knee small enough. This makes the thigh look like a bell. You want the knee to be tapered. It also prevents the sniper plate from slipping under the thigh at the knee.
  4. I just got one of these to convert into a Sandtrooper Bapty e11. It is indeed a doopydoo. Its easy to assemble as all the placements are marked out. Shipping took about a week after I placed the order so that was good.
  5. I notched my NE ears too. (Its in my build thread) It really helps the kit look better.
  6. I would narrow down your thighs. They are very wide at the knees. Play around with them so that they taper down. I spent a couple of hours doing mine. If you look at some screen caps you can see how tightly fitted the thighs are around the knees. Hope this helps!
  7. Because of the way everything is strapped together it all falls into place. The only thing you really need to get right is the shoulder strapping length. And on that I winged it myself with a hand from one of my sons. For all intents and purposes I'm a fat guy and things never seem to fit right. Lol! This worked for me. Lol! This weekend I'll be taking some pics to post on my WIP thread over at MEPD. I'll pm you if want to see my setup.
  8. I used the mrnostripes brackets on my NE. I also purchased the presewn elastic from him too. It all fit right out of the box with no guessing. Its not as cheap as snap plates but in the long run it saves you time and looks good.
  9. I have spare NE shoulders straps, NE ESB hand plates and an unassembled NE thermal det. (Don't need them because I'm doing a TD.
  10. I doubled over my white elastic and added on lines of E6000. My straps don't stretch too much. I winged it as far as length and it fits me well. I glued down all the ends permanently. I wish I did have one snap at least on the rear right side. I'll do that eventually to make it easier to put on. I'm strapping my NE with the brackets so everything lines up well too.
  11. Why keep responding to this guy? Don't give him what he wants. Ignore him. We all know know Lou and he has a great rep in the Legion. That's all any newcomers should know!
  12. I've been putting my NE arms and legs together this week. I'm having great success in using CA glue inside the seams. First I mate up all the seams with painters tape across. Once its tight I put some tape down the seam. Then I cut the extra ABS and make it fit in the ridges. I clamp down one end, run my finger down the seam/ shim and quickly clamping down the other end. When its ready just sand down any parts of the seams that are uneven. This way you can lay down your cover strips easy. Good luck!
  13. If you send trooperbay an email he may be able to let you use a MO. I sometimes use that instead of PayPal too. Give it a try! Good luck!
  14. Where was this two weeks ago! Great job Lou!
  15. I think the helmet back needs to be cut back more. Probably to the end of the brow trapezoid. The circular part of the ear will not cover it. the sides of the ear will certainly not cover that over lap. This is how mine are cut.
  16. I think you did great with this. Nice neat and clean. That right ear is a lot thinner than mine too. I didn't work on mine yesterday so maybe I'll give it another go thinning it out. Good work!
  17. Right! I'm finding this with mine too.
  18. Maybe try to cut off some of the return edge on the sniper plate. Then go for a bit more of the return on the bottom of the thigh. It may give you a little more wiggle room so to speak.
  19. Thanks Christian... my eyes couldn't tell the difference really. I thought the Stormtrooper stripes curved because of the shape of the helmet, but after looking at some side by side pics now I see what you mean.
  20. Might your "idealized" stripes work for a clonetrooper helmet? I'm not sure how many striped clones have but this is an excellent starting point. Can anyone chime in? Thank you!
