As a matter of fact, when watching through the shoot-out scenes in ANH I noticed muzzle flash from Chewie's rifle in the detention block also!
-

Here's a screen cap of the muzzle flash from the submachine gun used during the shot, plus two captions of the 9mm bullet casing ejected from the Sterling SMG/E-11 from the Stormtroopers in prone shooting stance.

amazing screen caps! Those stunt armors really looks beaten up!! I guess they threw them all in the garbage bin after shooting :S..unfortunately.

Oversized accurate helmet
littledragon88 replied to SuperTrooper's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
The FX helmet is based on a fan sculpted mold which is larger than the one used in the movies. What makes it unaccurate is the size and the overall shape of the helmet. Check out www.starwarshelmets.com for the comparison pictures -
What is an NGB Helmet? Origins?

Any chances of it being cast off the German MFX (Which if I remember correctly can be traced back to TE?)? I have a german MFX in thick HIPS. -
I there SWhite! As I don't actually have any specific information about any of the sellers, I thought I'd give you some more information about the common materials used in armor making: (Choice of material WILL influence how durable the armor will be). Most kits, such as FX and AP is made from ABS, which is a plastic material toughened with butadiene, which is used for synthetic rubber, thus ABS is a combination of plastic and rubber - which again makes it very flexible and durable. HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is plastic, but not toughened with the rubber as found in ABS, thus making HIPS a bit more stiffer and in most cases less durable than ABS. Most people use HIPS in armor making, because it's a bit easier to work with than ABS. I have a HIPS armor, and it looks very good, but it has a tendency to crack, and cracks WILL be more common to HIPS armor, compared to ABS no matter what, as a matter of the different materials. I'd also suggest you register over at http://www.duneseagarrison.com/ which represent your state Arizone, and hook up with some of the members there to for instance meet them, talk with them and look at their variety of armor.

.."Listen to rapstertee you should". A heat gun might be a smart investment, as it could be used to heat-form other parts of the AP armor. The plastic will NOT be deformed at once, if you keep the heat gun at a distance from the plastic, and distribute the heat...it'll take some time before the plastic gets soft enough. If you're careful with the heating, it would not be any problem at all. Just remember to heat up slowly, and avoid concentrating the heat (or else it'll warp), and take your time. When heating the plastic, it should be heated so it's just soft enough to be formed by bending it with your hands. -

Hi, I had the same issue..I'm pretty slim when it comes to the adominal area... My back armor also overlaps the ab-armor like on your pictures. But you could try to: 1) use a heat gun, and CAREFULLY try to shape the back/ab so it gets more 'rounded'. 2) trim off a bit of the lower back piece, so it didn't 'stick' out that much. I'll try to upload a picture of my armor tonight when I get back from lecture.. -

I've never used ABS cement or any of those welding-stuff. I used E6000 on all of my parts, and I got it off eBay. E6000 is like gel, and it does not drip or "flow", like many 'watery' types of glues...which is why I prefer it. One of the down-sides with the E6000 though, is the curing time. My parts used a couple of days to fully cure. -

When you make the straps that goes over your shoulder and which are connected to both the ab and back, make sure to make those straps adjustable. I have adjustable straps, which makes it possible for me to adjust the height in which the ab and back is positioned. I'd say that high ab/back is preffered, as it also raises up the groin and the areas around the hips, which improves mobility. Here's my armor. And I have my ab raised up pretty high. -

Rarely seen shots of TK's.

I saw the Holiday Special with a projector with a couple of friends OUTSIDE the cinema while camping for tickets for Revenge of the Sith. That was quite an experience, and you guys should have seen the faces of people walking by us when they they saw what was showing on the screen. Two things are worth to be seen in the Holiday Special IMO, the two original ANH stormtroopers (with hero-helmets), and the Boba Fett cartoon. It's interesting with the TK armor though, and I wonder what happened to one of them after filming, as the film clearly shows the stuntman doing a flip with the armor from a height. That armor must have been scrapped after shooting I assume..or undamaged parts may have been reused later on for instance in ESB. I actually think it looks cool the way the trooper holds the gun, although we never see them holding the blaster like that in the movies. The sterling machine gun after all, was meant to be held by the magazine, like the Sten gun. -

Never before seen ANH Stormtrooper photos
littledragon88 replied to Bezerkus's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Actually, I own a set of the latest German MFX suit that I bought in 2006, the thighs are also replicated after the ANH armor, and they're just like those on these pictures. They reach up pretty high.. It makes it extremely hard to walk, especially up stairs, and it's simply impossible to sit no matter how hard I try. -

Wow, these pictures are just breathtaking! I just love behind the scenes material from ANH, and behind the scenes pictures OF the actual stormtrooper is like..wow, it's like the holy grail to me! Thanks so much for sharing! I hope he has the video as well -
Very impressive! My bucket (similar to AP) is kinda small, and I had problems finding free space for anything. Everything I've done has been to paint the interior black, and added foam around the eyes, and put round foam pieces on each side of the helmet to keep it tight when my head's in.
