  1. Very impressive! My bucket (similar to AP) is kinda small, and I had problems finding free space for anything. Everything I've done has been to paint the interior black, and added foam around the eyes, and put round foam pieces on each side of the helmet to keep it tight when my head's in.
  2. 'Metallskive' (metal-sheet-ring??!) between the plastic on the inside that the rivet goes through.
  3. I noticed this when I watched a HD-version of ESB. In one of the scenes when Leia, R2, C3PO, Chewie and Lando is racing back to the Falcon - being chased by stormtroopers. When they reach the landing platform, Leia turns around, shoots and hits one trooper. When watching the trooper gets hit in slow-mo, one can actually see that they've used white PVC-textile-material (pretty much like the PVC-textile material commonly used in the advertisement industry) to replace the shin-armor..so no shin armor when the stuntman gets hit, and only the PVC-material warping up kinda like textile.
  4. ..imagine Luke and Han running around the deathstar in their socks because they couldn't take their boots with them. Lol.. I am wondering WHAT kind of socks they would actually wear in the Star Wars trilogy. What ARE the most SA socks and underwear? I guess we'll never know..
  5. Full time student, doing a master's degree in Marine Architecture here on NTNU, The Norwegian University of Science and Tech. ARgh..I have a physics exam coming up tomorrow
  6. I did the same - glued the white strip (as one do with AP Kits) to one half part of the shin using all the clamps I had, let it cure, then I glued this part to the other half, using my largest clamps to hold the sides, while I used a lot masking tape rolled around the whole piece to make secure the areas that the clamps didn't reach.
  7. Thanks for all help so far! A question about the ABS cement particular, it sounds like it's something that only works with ABS plastic, do you know if it'll work for other plastic types? Thank again all for the tips
  8. Hello! I've now recieved my stormtrooper MFX kit (the latest german moviefx kit), but the kit did not contained any glue. I just wanted to ask you guys if you had any tips of what kind of glue I could use? I've heard about ABS cement, the glue that "welds" the plastic together. If I'm not mistaken, this kind of glue is present in most FX kits out there. Do anyone know if I could use this glue for my armor? I'm not sure what kind of material it's made of, so ABS cement may not work? Do anyone have any experiences with other kinds of glue, maybe a form for "all-purpose-plastic-welding-glue"? I've tried with Plastic Padding's Super Epoxy, but it seems that the glue wont hold good enough. Attached is just a picture of my kit..still unassembled. I've got all my tools and materials ready, but just realized I had to get some better glue :S. So close... With regards from a fellow trooper in Norway.
