  1. You win the right to announce the winner of the ANH photo competition!
  2. About time too, young man! Knowing that the mic tips are fine, I (unofficially) delcare this and easy pass and the next EIB in the Spanish Garrison! I won't be long behind you either
  3. He he, thanks. First game against the USA next Saturday.
  4. With the (soccer) World Cup coming round again, I realised that it is about 4 years ago that I decided enough was enough and I had to loose some weight. Too much junk food and snacking had seen my weight creep up to 82kg (182lbs) which, for someone who is 1.72m (5'8") tall, is too much. Essentially all I did was count calories (using the Weight Watchers points scheme but not attending any meetings or joining any groups) but I got down to my ideal weight of 68kg (150lbs) within a period of about 6 months. I still use the same points system to monitor my calorie intake today and am happy to report that I have maintained my weight all this time. I never go hungry and I generally have a more balanced diet. Every now and then I can have a blow out and have a day where I don't count the calories, have a few (too many) beers and maybe a big greasy pizza and in general I feel great. I just took a new photo in the size "S" shirt I now wear and put it next to a picture of me 4 years ago im a size "M", in this World Cup before and after photo montage. It really doesn't take that much discipline. If I can do it, so can anyone! My only advice is don't go on a "diet" only to go back to your old ways as soon as you reach your target. Change your eating habbits and keep them changed. Good luck, chaps!
  5. Indeed, Stormtroopers were designed and built in post-decimilisation Britain. Never given it much thought but, yes, very nice.
  6. You can mention the name of the vendor here (it's not like the UKG board) and maybe those familiar with the kit will be able to offer advice.
  7. I stopped worrying about being short ages ago. With regard to armour, as long as it fits well, that's all I care about and in general your relative girth is more important than your height. 5'7"/140-150lbs is always going to look better in (shim-free!) armour than 5'11" and 250lbs! For what it's worth, Pat, you have a good build and I think you look good in your armour. I'm just short of 5'8" and around 150lbs (1.72m, 68kg). Being slim means I can even borrow my wife's AP whilst I'm waiting for my armour to arrive!
  8. That's not a bad guess. Remember it's "built by TM", i.e. assembled from several parts, so individual components are ruled out. The clue is in the question. Apart from that ... ... that applies to quite a lot of parts!
  9. Either it's a minor small part or you've got a really large mail box .... or it wasn't actually really inside it. I concur: Hero helmet.
  10. I was personally surprised by how much fun I had building armour. To be honest, I started out just wishing someone else would put it together for me but in the end I took a lot of pride and satisfaction from the build. I can't wait to get started on the next one. I think the single moment which sticks in the mind though was when I got my first indication of the reaction of "the public" to a good TK outfit. We were having a small gathering for my wife's birthday and she did a quick test fitting to show the guests her new "carnival costume". They were all well and truly bowled over and my wife had to stay in the costume for a long time whilst everybody had several photos taken with her.
  11. This part of Pete Stukatrooper's build photos will help ...
  12. I'm presuming he's intending on using it as ROTJ-style armour trim.
  13. Great photos. But just one thing ... you see that door? The one that seems to be locked? Go back and try it again .... I've just got a niggling feeling ...
  14. I haven't given it too much thought to be honest as I still have to build the armour but I think industrial velcro will do the trick.
  15. Beautiful TD! Well done, sir!
  16. Just pulling your leg. And I agree with the sentiment. Karin is great to deal with and isn't just out to make cash and keep all her secrets from the community.
  17. It's the standard ROM/FX. I love it. Great toy. I'm not going to worry too much about the American English because I'll really only be speaking Spanish on troops. For the purpose of the video though I thought the Englsh lines were probably better delivered with a US accent (however poor) instead of my usual Yorkshire!
  18. I bought this from a Spanish seller on eBay.
  19. I've got some ... Gebrauchter Putzlappen Staubsaugerbeutel Sandtrooper
  20. I have no idea but I always imagined that a lot of the original blasters from ANH would have been recycled, along with the armour. The world of Star Wars blasters is a weird, diverse and random place though!
  21. Oooh! Nice!
  22. I hadn't, no. Thanks.
  23. By the way, John (or anyone else for that matter), do you know of any more good reference material for ESB E-11s?
  24. Cheers for the tip, John. They look great. I'll have to drop Steven a line. A few greeblies would be a nice finishing touch for my upcoming ESB EIB application and this little feller ...
