  1. Checking back on my emails, the first email was sent to me on Oct 17 and the "NDA" status was the original idea of the LMO, so nothing really changed. I had my say of course, as I mentioned before, but it ended up as the original suggestion coming from the LMO. I think many simply assumed it to end up as an FISD character, but it is also an EU character, which is why the DL of Flagship Eclipse was also part of the discussion. Either way it's an approved costume now. Just not officially a part of FISD.
  2. It's not our decision to make. But I would assume the LMO will require the KW helmet for the legacy armour. I say it's not our decision is because Jes doesn't belong at FISD. Why is that, you say? Because when we had the discussion, I required the costume to include a helmet, just like the TK. And that resulted in them making Jes a "No Detachment Affiliation" costume. So asking for a helmet to be worn when in costume seems to be too much, even these days.
  3. Exactly. The biceps gets pushed upwards when the forearm is moved upwards, because they, not the shoulder bell, are strapped together. If the bell was strapped with the biceps, it would interfere with that movement.
  4. They are supposed to sit there. Look at some screen shots. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery You are making the assumption that because every one else in the 501st you have looked at wear their biceps higher you have formed the opinion that that's the correct way to wear them. This is a common mistake as members of the 501st get this and several other things wrong, more often than not. What you should do instead is study how the original armour is strapped and consider how it behaves in different circumstances. Because the original biceps are strapped to the forearms, they are always at a fixed distance from them. They are not strapped to the shoulder bells, and will float up and down the arm as you move around. Once you realize that, you will understand that the biceps on this suit are just where you expect them to be, because the wearer is a tall person.
  5. Yes, I'd say those are too short.
  6. Someone has to answer all those questions as well. If you feel you want to do that, go right ahead. As someone who's spent a long time on this forum, I can tell you that answering the same question over and over and over gets dull really fast. Besides, there is nothing "really wrong" with the chart. You will look just fine if you follow it, certainly in comparison to not even assembling/wearing your suit properly which is far more noticeable and more common. But research from the last couple of years offer alternatives that are not covered by the chart.
  7. There might be some errors in it. But should we remove it, we will instead have 10 threads a month asking the same things that are here and are correct. But you are welcome to ask Billy to update his post from 2009 with a new chart. Not all action has to be initiated by staff. Sometimes individual action is required. That's the kind of action that gave us the chart in the first place. Be grateful for that instead.
  8. Satin is generally preferred for the vocoder these days, but you can use gloss for the tear and trap details The chart is old and somewhat outdated by now.
  9. Not with the FX helmet. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. AP kit? It tends to do that. Either way, it won't spoil your application.

  12. No difference. Just one of AM's inventions.
  13. Stay away from the master replica one even if you are looking for something "clean".
  14. While many star wars guns had their sights mounted backwards, the E-11 actually got it right. The smaller end faces forwards because it was mounted in an assembly of optics that directed light into it from the outside of the tank it was in. So despite being smaller, it is actually the "input".

  16. It has been done in the past. But the amount required will make your head spin. It's far better and easier to start with something else.
  17. It's really really bad.
  18. The top one is certainly not. That's Terry out of the Canadian Garrison. We use that picture in the CRL (http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_hero) The rest, yeah those are legit. The belt is in fact a little all over the place. But you can't just tell people they're wrong without backing it up. Even your middle picture contradicts you, as it's the crossing overlap of the belt ends that makes it look lower than it is. Look at the belt itself and not just the ends of it and you'll see.
  19. I've talked with Walt and know the source of the parts, so you can sleep soundly that it's not connected to you.
  20. Indeed. It's really quite awkward when people that should know better tell newbies they are doing it wrong when in fact it's the other way around.
  21. Looking good so far. It's not hard once you start reading.
  22. Should be mandatory reading: http://starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-helmets-sub-submenu.htm
  23. You might need to create a personal page, and then a TM-page that people can like and send messages to. So while that might not hide your person, it separates you from TM into two separate entities you control. That's how RS and CFO did it.
