  1. I suited up today for some photos. It's hard to do when you're alone, but I think I managed to get some decent pics. All I'm missing is the neckseal, which is in transit from TK409. Next weekend I'm meeting with the nordic garrison XO (or something like that) to sort out my application. Side detail: Back: And two "action pics"
  2. Add the black elastic strips seen in the right shoulder bell on this image will help keep it in place when you move, and keep it closer to your body. Looks like a very nice build you have!
  3. I must have done that the wrong way then. Before I heat bended the belt, the canvas belt behind it was somewhat stretched when it was laid flat on the floor. Thanks for the tip!
  4. The snaps couldn't hold the belts desire to flex back. It wasn't my preferred method, but it seamed like the only solution.
  5. Good thing that's an easy fix. My elastic is glued with E-6000 to the back of the drop box. I can just rip it off and glue it back on again. Maybe I'll go and buy some heavier grit sandpaper to get the last millimetres off the top and bottom of the belt. But it feels like such a waste buying 4 (minimum in the closest store I've found) sheets when I only need half a sheet. Maybe I'll just keep going with the 600 grit that I have.
  6. Said and done! It's still a little rough around the edges, but I'll fix that later. Does this look better?
  7. Yeah I was thinking it covered too much of the ab buttons. Good thing others notice too, so I can fix it faster. Thanks!
  8. How do you know all this stuff!? You don't have to answer that.
  9. This Monday I got an off white belt from TKitell and a holster from TK Bondservnt. So I've worked to put them together. Here's the results! Holster from Vern, Fits perfectly: I heated the ammo belt with a lighter and bent it to curve around like this: Everything on the belt connects with snaps. So it can be taken apart: Adding these snaps was a bit scary. Doubting my measurements. But it went perfect. Also a bit tricky adding them without any pliers and just that punch that's sometimes included and a hammer. I resorted to using the corner of my kitchen sink as anvil. The glue on the other drop box is still drying, but here's how it all comes on:
  10. Silly propstore. They should hire better website editors!
  11. Except that it's an ANH blaster. Notice the power cylinders on top of the magazine, and the hengstler? Must be incorrectly labeled at the prop stores site as they too say it's ESB. Disclamer: I didn't have sound when I saw the clip. Could be an explanation to this AHN/ESB thingy. Seams on a second view with another video in between that there is in fact no audio in that clip.
  12. Well.. a part from the frown, vocoder and the insides of the helmet most ain't my work. It was built by Paul himself on request and the decals are Mikes, TK-4510. Still - Thanks a lot! The hook system on the calves was somewhat of a pain. Maybe my needle and thread-skills and/or equipment were not really up to the task. But anything can be done if you just want to! (and I have two spare elastic+hook bands finished) The cut ends on the finishing strips are from something I saw or read on here before. I just liked the look, as I think it makes the strips look more of a detail with purpose rather than something used only as a cover up for the join. Thanks again. It feels like building a good suit is more of a collaboration of the good people here rather than one single entity.
  13. Okey, I felt kinda bad not having too many pics to show - So I wipped up a set of all current pics. Edit: tried adding more images. Making another reply instead!
  14. Thanks a lot! I'll try to get the other hook to bend further tomorrow when the glue has set properly. The return edge on that biceps piece turned out to be wider than the other which in turn pushes the hook back a bit giving it a different angle.
  15. Last week I cut open my thighs to redo them and make them narrower to fit my slim body better. The piece on the right illustrates how much I cut out. I have still to take pictures of the finished thighs, but the are finished. Today I decided to try making biceps hooks from some scraps left from when I redid the thighs. Here are some pics of that. The pieces I started with: After heat-bending them into shape (which didn't go very smooth btw): And finally gluing them into the biceps with some E-6000:
  16. Loving it! How many helmets do you have now, really?
  17. Good work there man! Looks great! And congratulations on the baby!
  18. That is just awesome! Makes me want to build one for my second suit too!
