  1. I'd call this a return edge
  2. I haven't bought any tips from Keiths, but he's allegedly the best one around. I guess(?) that he includes the mesh.
  3. Locitus

    Boots

    I do that on purpose!
  4. I think .080 gauge is roughly 2 mm.
  5. That rpf post is from 2006...
  6. TM is also a little bigger. Does not make it a recast. ANHv2 are made from the same guys that make OSCS clone armour if I recall correctly.
  7. AP comes with duplicate biceps, so this could be TE2, ATA or other. Either way, since the arms and biceps comes from different sources (rotj and a tour suit) I would expect them to also be a little different in size.
  8. Ammo belt corners should be cut at 45 degree angles, right side ab-plate rivets removed and filled, sniper knee wholes be filled, S-trim on the helmet, and "hand painted look" on the decals, those you have do not look like hand painted to me. Did I miss anything else? Either way, good luck and don't rush it!
  9. S-trim is used on the bottom of the helmet.
  10. The box mine came in just says size 9. And they fit me like a size 9 male should. Not too small at all.
  11. Are you sure? I know they don't say it's womens sizes, but they do say they run small and that you should order one size larger.
  12. I used something similar to Matt black, and just tied the ends together in a knot. Works great.
  13. They are included in the kit.
  14. Vern, it sounds to me like all the elastic loops are identical. I guess as long as they are "tight" it should be fine. I don't have this strapping myself, but having a tight fit between the brackets would be how I'd do it. But I guess you might want to adjust for body size.
  15. It's absolutely worth the wait!
  16. That came together quickly. Are you sure you're a single father?
  17. I might have misunderstood, buut he mentioned heating the lenses and forming the to the curvature of the eyes. Nevermind.
  18. If your're making a sandy or stunt helmet the lens should be flat and not be pushed out of the sockets, only rotj and hero helmets have bubble lenses.
  19. It's fine Karin, I've been carrying around heavier guns for longer time periods before. Now lets see what our beloved Rolf will do to his new toys.
  20. Absolutely fantastic paint job! Even more impressive knowing that it's all free hand without any stencils at all.
  21. I'd like to know how that turns out, but I'm thinking a matte clear coat would do it.
  22. Return edges give your armour an illusion of thickness, and adds to the realism. Comparing that with an old FX suit for example that had no returns at all, and the difference becomes obvious quite quickly. However return edges are prone to cracking under stress, so I'd keep them smaller in high-stress areas. Something around 5 mm of return edge should be sufficient for most parts.
  23. Get yourself some lexan scissors if you haven't already. It's pretty much the only tool you'll need. And enjoy your build!
