  1. Lucasfilm Archives and the bonus material of the bluray box. I suggest you check out our photo gallery. We have quite a lot of reference pictures these days.
  2. I think the biceps and forearms of MFX and RS clearly line up up and it's obvious to me they come from an RS recast. As for the MFX Hero helmet it could come from the GF Hero.
  3. Use glove liners. Makes it much more comfortable. Since I started using glove liners I have not used nomex gloves even on non canon troops. Yes, gloves go on after forearms.
  4. Also remember that not all parts of the suit have to come from RS. It's not impossible that some are RS and some are AP for example. But yes, more pictures is always better.
  5. Those that donated money to pay for the hosting got a badge. Right now we're set for another 9 months or something because we paid for a whole year. But next time around you could join in.
  6. Then you likely have the older version before MFX recasted RS.

  9. It's going to look great I bet!
  10. That was easy! Approved! It's nice to see more TM's in the US. Perhaps more troopers will see how good they look.
  11. Not everything, but I know what to look for.
  12. If you can you could also try to make the transition between armour and shim smoother. Try to make it seamless if you can. Maybe some kind of putty or filler (I've speculated on silicone caulk)? Otherwise I think the points you have there will do nicely and the cut line on the knee plate looks good too.
  13. I don't really see any specific "blockers" here, but there are some very valid points that have been brought up and for the sake of future-proofing I'm curious to see what comes out when these have been addressed. Also, the belt could sit a bit higher than right at the edge of the kidney plate if that's an easy fix for you. And yes, the knee plate should have vertical edges at its ends. Not tapered.
  14. No problem at all. Take your time and do it right!
  15. Put some white paint on those knee belt rivets and you're all set.
  16. Maybe these sentences should not be separate paragraphs, because they do belong together. The CRL pictures are just fine as they are. They do what they are intended to do. While they were not taken yesterday, Pablo's armour (he's the guy in the pictures) is more accurate than 95% of the armour I see here even today. But that does not protect us people from taking a thing and making it into something else. You want better pictures? Get someone with a really nice armour to do a studio shoot and take individual pictures of all that you think should be changed on the site. Then maybe, maybe, someone can take the time out of their lives to update the 501st site making a minuscule improvement to something you think is wrong with it.
  17. The CRL pictures are not for reference. They are for clarifying the text. I know that people want the CRL to be the be all end all of TK costumes, but if it was then the CRL would be a booklet rather than a bullet list and there is no way in hell that people would vote on passing that many requirements to make the CRL actually accurate. Think my amendments to the centurion earlier this year was a lot? Think again.
  18. The only valid reference is real armour. Be it either photographs or screen captures. Anything fan made should never be used to tell others what is right or wrong. It's not always easy to prove a point if there is lack of reference, but that is our struggle.
  19. Belt sure is in the right position. Have a look at this guy second to the right. Fantastic submission and clearly above and beyond EIB. Nice job!
  20. Not very likely. Maybe testors. Try to find a store that does scale models and stuff like that. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
  21. What kind of acrylic paint are you using? There are many different solvents that work differently. Not all paint is created equal. But as Daniel said, enamel paint from Humbrol works nicely too.
  22. Didn't Rancho Obi Wan have one of those prototypes in it's display?
  23. No, you can fit accurate armour just fine at that height. I'm not sure why people think you can't. Girth and waist measurements are of much more concern than height.
  24. Did you check this thread? It is full of all kinds of measurements from real sterlings: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16705-the-best-sterling-templates-ever/
