  1. Completely agree on that you wait as long as it takes. But my experiences with both TM and RS is that they are both really quick at putting out TK-kits. My TM kit took about 1 month from initial contact, and a garrison mate (the kit I built last summer) got his kit from RS shipped within two weeks. As for replacements, I can only speak of TM, but I had mine made quickly (once TM remembered to make them. A friendly reminder was all it took). Maybe two weeks all in all.
  2. Every maker has long wait times. But if cost of the kit deters any customers, that should make their kits have less waiting period, don't you agree? ATA is up to 6 months of waiting period now, last I heard.
  3. Looks good. I use scissors for mine, but you can use whichever tool you feel most comfortable with. You might want to trim the top and bottom so it becomes flexible and line it up with the assembled thigh before you cut to make sure the pencilled corner of the belt extends into the right position of the thigh before you trim the corner.
  4. Put these three together and you should be able to do it. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/19-how-to-install-cap-rivets-video/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/24-howto-trim-your-knee-belt-corners/ http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/album/23-knee-ammo-pack-a-new-hope/
  5. TM, CFO and RS are at the top of the game. The rest comes down to making it fit and get the details right.
  6. starwarshelmets.com is awesome, but don't forget about our photo gallery.
  7. Send TM a pm. He's a member here. The other parts you can find here on the forum, like holsters and belts. TKboots are good boots so stick with those. For the undersuit there are some purpose-sold ones, but I'm was using a normal "nike-ish" 2-piece for the longest time. Just make sure it's really tight and have no branding visible when dressed in the armour.
  8. Yes. But that does not mean "resculpted". Resculpted indicates that he changed something existing from the RS suit.
  9. No, it's the same guy.
  10. Not resculpted. Added. The missing parts come from TM, but he didn't change any existing parts. RS is hands down the most accurate one of your two choices. The only one close to RS is TM. And if you want to make a sandtrooper, why not use something that is cast from a real sandtrooper armour?
  11. Whatever you do, don't get SDS or jedi-robe. The other ones are good. If you want to do ROTJ, definitely go with CFO.
  12. Ah. No they didn't.
  13. Here's a link to the facebook-mess regarding the RS recast. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.565795133434580.141942.332969736717122&type=3
  14. Nothing. It's just easy to pronounce and has some level of symmetry.
  15. Yes, but jedi robe is perhaps the biggest rip off there is. You would have saved a lot of money a also gotten a nicer helmet by contacting one of the makers in the first post.
  16. It's not getting deleted from here that's for sure though.
  17. I saw your post got deleted as well, Matt.
  18. I saw your post and that it is now deleted. Even if I'm sure anyone in his position would be really fed up with taking so much heat as he's gotten, the action speaks for itself.
  19. I haven't seen them yet, but I would assume that they will work.
  20. That's very disappointing. Thanks for the link Brian.
  21. That one was not available here either, so I'll miss out on that too it seems.
