  1. It's a beautiful suit Wade, no doubt. It's just the legion's stiff rules getting in the way.
  2. The elastic in the ebay auction that is linked in post 1 is matched with the original. Nuts and bolts, I don't know.

  4. You are incorrectly equalling linage with accuracy. While they mostly go hand in hand, your ROTJ derived moulds are lacking in several departments where you would expect ANH details, in those cases where you would want to use it for an ANH or ESB suit. Your kit is also smaller in many regards, probably due to several generations of re-casting (since even ROTJ suits were recast from ANH), especially when compared to TM, which is much larger and nearly identical to RS in size. It also has no duplicate pieces and the forearms are correctly shaped whereas your are squashed in the wrong direction (see http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/image/3163-imgp0111/) Yes, your suit and ATA has the same source, but you are hinting at that no armour maker has ever made any changes to their product, which also isn't true. And the ATA butt plate and kidney are wider than yours, allowing for a bigger waist circumference. I understand that you don't like hearing any negativity about your suits, but realize that I'm not saying it's a bad product. I'm saying that it isn't the best product for this particular person.
  5. You can (and should) paint two layers, partially to make it stronger but it also darkens the colour. That's what I do and it makes a difference.
  6. No, the only thing that's holding up the approval at the moment is that I can't view the images submitted. But judging by this single picture, I don't imagine it to be any issues with the suit.
  7. Some think that the testors grey is slightly closer. But if you can't or can't bother to get that one, then yes. From what we know so far, the humbrol would be the best match for you.
  8. Since a long time ago. He compares it to what is believed to be the original shade of grey back in the 70's. Aside from what a few people think, there is no better substitute (aside from the testors alternative, which some feel is slightly closer in shade). If you think it's an issue you could blend your own hue by adding a bit of black to it and mixing. I believe that the change in hue is not intentional, but a consequence of the manufacturer changing some ingredient or another to make it less harmful.
  9. Ah, but you are mistaken Paul. You are winning it. Every kit you sell, every post you make (I'll be watching you) is a small victory. Accuracy is on the rise. But it's important to remember the goals of the 501st programs, and not make them out to be something they aren't. We have no current award for true screen accuracy. But if the people demand it, we can create it. As I've been thinking about, and hinting at. For those that didn't get the pun; youtube.com/watch?v=OMOGaugKpzs
  10. Yes, and no. It's meant to look like a generic, but screen accurate trooper. What that means is basically that we take all troopers, and average out all their differences to create the ideal accurate trooper. Sounds horrible, but it works. Centurion has never focused on individual troopers. We have nenver allowed Mr No Stripes, despite being so prominent, for example. I think the problem is that people aren't using the CRL's correctly. And your move along trooper belongs to MEPD, so personally I don't see how this is a discussion that belongs here. Besides, 16 tube stripes i perfectly OK in the TK CRL. The tooth issue in this application is actually a basic-level requirement, and should have been fixed at GML level. Frown is painted gray and does not leave the teeth area. Eight total teeth on the frown are cut out. Because the CRL looks at the average trooper, not specific ones. Otherwise they would be full of exceptions, and really really long and hard to read. Like a law book. Also, 98% of all TK applications are generic. Yes, they might be screen accurate. And I'll be the first to say that that is a very very good thing. But as I explained earlier, none of the programs focus on individual troopers. MEPD swat does, but they will disapprove you if you have the details from one trooper, but mixed with those from another. Unfortunately there are too many TK's and too hard to keep track of them for us to do the same. Maybe I can get the replica program off the ground, as a non-501st award with no CRL. Only screen reference is used to judge. That's something non legion members like you could receive as well. But for centurion, as it is a legion award, it has to be balanced between accuracy and troopability. (technically the award is a FISD innovation, but the third tier CRL, which centurion is heavily based on, is FISD designed, but owned by the 501st legion)
  11. I think you should strap the bicep to the forearm and let the rest sort it self out. (basically, your right arm, or left from my point of view, looks fine, but the other is terrible)

  13. You could try to get Kai in German Garrison to make a ROTJ blaster. It's not perfect but it's really hard to find a better one if you can't get a hyperfirm. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. Like Gino says. Laser scanned and then a foam helmet was carved with some sort of CNC machine. This foam head could then ultimately be used to create the moulds, and also a number of 1-piece fiberglass helmets.
  15. Not exactly how I meant by posting the pictures into the post, but halfway there. I suppose I wasn't very clear on the details, so that's my fault. Follow these steps to get the pictures posted properly: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/5-howto-post-images-on-the-forums/
  16. He has the TM extra tall shins.
  17. I don't remember. Like I said, talk to TM about prices. We don't publish kit prices in public for a reason.
  18. I wear TM. Although mine is from 2010.
  19. Give him some time to reply. He's quite busy these days. More and more people are buying his armour. But I'm sure he'll reply as soon as he can. He can give you an accurate list of prices and what services he can add.
  20. RT, ATA and MTK would be more suitable for your size. But if you want to be even more accurate I would recommend TM. ATA has a very long waiting list however. But you shouldn't rush any armour, especially not if it's your first time.
  21. I would say you are too large for AP. Sure, you can make it work, but there are better options that are even more accurate and a better fit, or at the very least, cheaper and a better fit.
  22. There is plenty of information about the paint finish here: http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=29520&s=ffb9a8e365a250f97339fad40c92de1e
  23. You can see the collapse here on the left:
  24. That is correct Terry. The original plastic was flexible enough to not need reenforcement. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. It's really easy Vern. From the Charter: http://www.501st.com/databank/OperationsProtocol#Reserve_Members (emphasis mine)
