hmm I think I already answered my question... Hero on the left, stunt on the right?

Heres a link to a reference pic from ANH. Notice the smaller frown on the left? Is there an explanation for the difference or is it just how the prop artists painted it?

T/MC helmet build[*TMC]
zsavk replied to SphereBase21's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
hey Kevin thank you. I just had a couple more questions about the kit. In the kit description it lists what you can order and what optional things you can order: 1. Full kit 2. Armour only kit 3. Helmet kit 4. Additional matching plastic for butt joining armor. 5. Canvas/Ducks cloth belt (frayed). I would be going with a Full kit. But what is Item 4? Is that used if you dont want your butt and back plate separate? And Item 5, is that comparable to say TKittel's belt http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10293 -
Nick check this topic which is right here in this forum:--------- It might help ease your search some.

Are you going to be trooping as a handler Catherine? First of all if so let me thank you in advance. Without handlers, TKs are pretty much blind and deaf and end up bumping around into each other and losing pieces of armor.

Thanks guys. Ill give it a go today.

Well Ive decided Im tired of not being able to see clearly out of my hero lenses. But it seems whoever secured the lenses in my RotJ TE helm did a super job and they are not just going to pop off with a little bit of pressure. Does anyone have any techniques for removing the glued lenses without damaging the helm?

Thats a great story Steve. Glad you got home. Well done Scott.

T/MC helmet build[*TMC]
zsavk replied to SphereBase21's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Any updates here? Im researching my next purchase and leaning towards T/MC. -
My rubies was approved after great effort and work. It was also very expensive material wise to upgrade the rubies. Costing me almost as much as a new suit of proper armor would have. Bottom line is you have 2 choices. Toss the rubies on ebay and pass your bad luck to another unsuspecting person or use it to "learn" on. TK armor building takes alot of skill and patience. You will earn both working on a rubies mod thats for sure I have a build thread on here somewhere that I cant seem to find. Heres a link to the upgraded suit I did on my first Troop. http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=10965&st=0&p=137129entry137129

The workbench is definetely the center piece. For those interested here is a list of materials: Framing is 2X4 construction Tops are 5/8 ply wood All screwed together with 2,1/2 wood screws Wheels are caster type with rubber tires. 2 of them are swivel style and placed on opposite corners from each other. The wheels are also mounted on a 6X6 plate of 5/8 plywood and lagged screwed down. Not visible is the 2X4 studding underneath the plywood on 16" centers. The end dimensions are 8 feet long by 4 feet wide. 36 inches high. This is a SOLID table that is easily maneuvered, and large enough to lay out your entire suit with room to spare.

Been working on this garage forEVER!@! Its finally coming to an end. I removed all the old shingles and replaced them with Metal roofing (Im a sheetmetal worker by trade so it seemed logical) I then got a new concrete slab poured and have already reinsulated the walls and vapor barriered. This past week a friend of mine who is a Carpenter built me the awesomest table and work bench ever! lol Im finally able to work in there and now only fine tuning is left.

Check this out. This is where I got mine and I was very happy with them. ---------

The rubies suit can really only be modded into a Return of the Jedi style suit. You need to do some research on ROTJ armor to make sure you get the details right. Getting the TE RotJ helmet is the biggest thing. Flipping the button plate is probably the next biggest mod. There are 3 really detailed build threads here on the forums you should check out thoroughly. Here is a link to mine. ----- Good luck you are in for a challenge that will be rewarding if you stick with it.

Yep drill them out. Use the same size drill bit as the rivet size. If the rivet is a 3/16 use a 3/16 drill bit. Size goes off shaft diameter not finished head size.

Just in line for a TM! As soon as he gets to me Ill be hitting EIB for sure!

How do you transport your armor?
zsavk replied to Shovelheadjedi's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Good question. Im going to CV as well and was wondering how to get my TK armor there. -
Ya but the sad thing is we would end up going all Order 66 on some innocent guy that thinks he bought a clean set of armor on E-bay while the thief probably wont ever even wear it. Glad theres a silver lining to this story though. What an awesome group of people!

That helmet is fantastic! But where is your leg armor and TD in pic #3?
-
Ya there are several great holster makers on this site. Quick search will find them. As for a E-11 you might want to research the different versions. Each type of armor (ANH, ESB, RotJ) Has their differences and may help you decide what way to go when buying, modding or making one.

I believe the painted portion should be 7/16th of an inch.
