  1. Well, that solves that issue!!!! Thank you folks!!! I will avoid the sporter then. A terrible shame. At $399 it was a steal.
  2. A friend of mine in my Garrison has connections to a supplier of Sterling "sporter" rifles. Basically, these are the Sterlings we are all familiar with except with a 16 inch barrell. Sticks out way past the nose of the gun.(Sorry Vern, my typing skills need work) Anyway, I am on the fence about getting one of these because I don't know if the front muzzle of the standard L2 A3 is interchangeable with the "Sporter" or if major modifications need to be done. Does anyone have this experience?
  3. I would strongly recommend you put your brow trim on before riveting anything in place. You can still remove it once things are riveted, but this will make sure you have everything fitted properly.
  4. The piece of screen over the fans prevents hair from going into the fan. Just in case, I keep my hair pretty short and it lays down fairly flat.
  5. Oh well. The majority rules. Thought maybe I had an "aha" moment. TM, your plans and my leather have a date. Thanks for all the input guys and Happy New Year to ALL!
  6. Did a marine vinyl mini version. This is REALLY floppy stuff. No backbone. It's only 11 inches top to bottom and not sewn very well. Not bad, though I am not liking how step the angle on the right side is. Sadly, the screen grab does not show a DIFINITIVE line and seems to be mostly covered by the retaining strap. I just might angle it a bit more. ----------
  7. ----------coating is plasti-dip imbedded with cheesecloth with more plasti-dip over it.
  8. I saw that and actually took a bit off the left side so it seems like a slope rather than such a hard angle. I am currently making a marine vinyl miniature of this design before I go hacking at my italian leather.
  9. Vern, can you link me with the TM 2 design?
  10. Wider on which part?
  11. I am in the process of a new armor project. For the exception of my blaster, everything else is being re built from scratch. I picked up a "shoulder" of black, italian cowhide yesterday. It is very rigid and perfect for a new holster. I began reviewing my own blueprints and others found here. A recent post showed a holster design next to a screen grab from ANH (C3PO talks to troopers in control room). Something about the holsters in the film compared to the ones in FISD just didn't add up to me. Something seemed off. Now I will stir the pot!!! This is all for the sake of accuracy!!!! ALL holster designs I have seen so far produce a holster that is essentially a tube when finished. The holsters I have seen in the film are tapered being wider at the top of the opening and thinner at the bottom. I thought my eyes were fooling me until I put a tape measure on the screen. I sat with a piece of paper(cheaper than leather) drew, and cut out a common holster based on Troopermaster's blueprints. I reduced the measurements using a scale of 1/2"= 1". I will spare you the test runs....but I proceeded to redesign the part of the holster that folds over. I increased the top and decreased the bottom. I then transfered all those measurements based on the 1/2"-1" scale and made a physical example. I ended up with a design that when finished, turned out (in my opinion) to duplicate the screen grab. -----------
  12. I can't remember if it will affect EIB or not, but, in the back, your shins need to close toward the inside. The armor is really nice, though and it fits you well! Good luck!
  13. Do you have neck issues that don't allow you to turn your head? I am not being a smart a** but unless you have a mellon like Frankenstein's monster, like Joey said, any TE lineage helmet will fit you. Yes you need to turn your head a bit to get it on but so what. (Bring out your torches and pitchforks) I just hate to see and accurate set of armor like ATA ruined by being topped off by an FX helmet. Just my opinion.
  14. You actually kept some of the sink aerators?
  15. All AP except the Shadow which is ATA and the MRCE on the bottom left.
  16. Big...big trooper!! Looking good, Man!!! Constuctive crit (don't kill me) The only thing I noticed is try to hike up the shoulder bells a little bit higher if possible.
  17. #1, those pics are not of AM armor. #2 if you can, post some pics so that we know exactly what you are referring to so you can get the most accurate answer! Happy Holidays, James!
  18. Time for a side by side pull comparison!!
  19. I will just try to plan troops that aren't so aquatic
  20. I agree, Vern! That is why I used a thick, black cowhide for mine. However, one troop in the rain and 24 hours in a case with armor piled on it flattened it out
  21. Unless I am carrying the DLT-19, I never worry about it. My blaster is too nice to keep holstered. What's a trooper without a blaster in hand.
  22. Sure hope that's what he means. If not, Send me a PM and you can ship it to me!!!!!
