  1. I just went to Lowe's and priced out the PVC and joints needed to make a mannequin , comes to around 100$ for a well jointed one you can pose. Few hours to put together... not a bad deal.
  2. Tip: If you want to practice working on plastic before you try your hand on armor go buy some of the plastic signs (handicap parking, no soliciting, etc) and cut them and glue them into shapes/boxes. You'll want the scraps later anyway.
  3. Lol, you just mimic MEPD Deployed Status (minus different ab plate, knee plate)
  4. I normally take my butt plate off if I sit down, or fold it over my back. The buttplate will flip over the guides if you bend over to much, though that angle is generally father then I can bend in my armor.
  5. So some of you know I have a separate buttplate on my armor and I hate it, it gets jacked up way to often. Well by golly I've done it! I've fixed my problem. I added 2 tabs on the side that catch and hold the buttplate in place here are some pics.
  6. Cheap-o 32gal bins. Made a stencil and sprayed the imperial logo on it, going to put my TD stuff on it at some point. Can fit entire suit + helmet + boots + e11 in it. (Shins in thighs, bracers in shins) my armor also breaks down completely (butt plate, back ab, front ab/cod, chest, back)
  7. Check your local fabric store or check the fabric part of your local hobby store to find E6000 or like glues.
  8. I love my TKboots.
  9. Check this out, http://hackaday.com/2010/02/03/amplifier-b...e-a-9v-battery/
  10. sweet! last part of my blaster i needed, thanks!
  11. It runs up the side of my neckseal so it's kept close to my face, and I turn it so the natural curve of the tube goes up the side of my face. The barbs on the mouth peice give just enough grab to keep it in your cheek when you're not using it (and does not hurt)
  12. I still am working on it but here are some pictures. Not much to it, bottle, some tubing, and tube joints. It comes around over my cheek the spur tilts into my mouth so that it stays in place. I accidentally bought a T instead of a normal joint for the lid, so I just made a stopper out of hot glue and excess tubing. It goes behind my chest plate, with the lid facing down -- it works well for non carbonated liquids (Champagne and Soda get some overflow if your not careful, due to excess carbonation after a sip). Whole unit:----------
  13. Here is how mine turned out (i followed the tutorial in the same thread---------
  14. USPS though it has unions is federally run and mandated to only make x% profit a year (up form 0% profit requirement a few years ago.) thus making it hard for the unions to strike to make more money, which helps a lot.
  15. I was thinking a fairly thick coat, maybe 1/4 an inch to 1/2 an inch so it just peels off.
  16. Very cool, can we get a more detailed shot of the part of the scope you redid? I am thinking about doing this my self.
  17. Dip it in latex and then let the customer peel off the latex.
  18. Probably be a week or two before doopy doo parts are here, until then I am thinking about implamenting a camera flash into the barrel (as apposed to the LED) so I'll have some updates on that when I get that done.
  19. Great opportunity, especially state side. I might take the intuitive and do some sculpts based off the doopy doos I get. If i can find the time, kinda wana get my blaster done too.
  20. Take a can of Lysol everywhere you go and spray down your suit after you take it off.
  21. I'm in the process of converting a "Clone Trooper" edition Hasbro E11 into as close as possible replica of an ROTJ E11. I've been putting it off, but I figured it's time... Here's some pics so far: After taking off Hasbro's tracks, removing the tip and sights, trimming back railing and cutting scope. Here's the barrel extension I made out of Bondo (used a toilet paper roll as the mold.) More to come as I get parts... (We need instant mail!)
  22. AP is doing a run right now, not sure if they're assembled or not -- but you could always buy the stuff and have some one else do it for $50 or so. Only takes an hour or two of work if you've done a few before. Especially sense you don't have to paint AP helmets (Their high durability ABS BABY!)
  23. that's close, the 12" orange area is actully about 11 3/4th" to be specific -- so scale the other measurments accordingly.
  24. I just ordered from them, will post when/if I get my kit -- I've heard good things.
  25. Working on my own E11 and extending the barrel like this one, I found out that a toilet paper roll is aprox the same size around as the barrel, so it can be used to easily create your extension out of bondo in a quick manor. Some pics, and yes it does require you destroy the roll to get it out (I put a light lining of spray paint inside it to help keep the bondo from bonding with the paper.)
