I'm thinking that maybe the info for the model master should be changed. The french blue seems to dry darker than in the bottle. Here's the samples from the model master site, what do ya'll think? ----------- French Blue # 4659 / Clear Blue # 4658 / Cobalt Blue # 4612 Here is what my french blue turns out to be. Maybe it will be lighter in the sun, but here it is in my room with plenty of light.

I'm sure just about everyone here has thought the same thing as you. I know I have but the thing to think of is on camera, they give you the idea that everything is perfect where as everyone will tell you since these things were being so rushed and just getting pumped out to put on screen, mistakes are just a part of the suit. So if you make a little mistake, try and tell yourself that its most likely as good as what they did on the originals which is true.

Sorry I can't add too much, you might want to check out a more local art store rather than one of the big chains such as hobby lobby or michaels. Like next to me there's a place called jerry's artarama that is very much more of an art store than an arts and crafts type place.

Well you need to cut out the backs of the teeth and then paint the fronts of them. Also I believe for the 501st, mesh screen behind the teeth is mandatory so that way people don't see you in the helmet.

On the full resin kit, the bolt is cast with the receiver, but in the pipe kit, its a separate part that fits down inside but doesn't have the length of a real sterling bolt. Its just big enough to cover the ejection port and put the cocking lever on it and isn't any longer than that. I don't think anyone makes resin bolts in full, so its a possibility sskunky.

I've been scratch building my scope. Optics don't actually work but i used the CD trick for show. So if you really want working optics sorry I cant help you there, But this could be a good alternative if you're fine with it.

Hey guys, i'm trying to paint in my tube stripes and i'm trying for centurion. I bought some stuff at hobby lobby to make my own templates and it doesn't seem to be working out too well. I don't think these are quite up to centurion quality do y'all? I think the placement is good, but the quality turned out pretty bad. The paint bleeds under my templates pretty bad so I cleaned it up as best as I could, but I also found out that I need to paint each stripe in one go instead of trying to do 2 thin coats because by the time i start to peel up the template, its starting to dry and peels the corners off. This is my ATA helmet from 09 and model master french blue paint that turned out quite a bit darker than i was hoping as well.... Its more like the old style blue that they thought before even though its much lighter in the bottle

I just found this out in a bad way. I have heard of people spraying the paint into cups to brush it on to do some touch up work. Well I got one of the red plastic party cups and it ATE RIGHT THROUGH! I noticed my paint was starting to get a little red so i lifted up the cup and it leaked out of the bottom of the cup. I'm sure the real paint mixing cups from an auto body shop would be ok. Many people wont see this, but hopefully word will get around.

Well like I had mentioned before. Its probably because of the exchange rates, but I looked at both their ebay and their main site. For me their main site was just a tad cheaper than their ebay, just about 2 bucks or so. Their prices for the items were cheaper on ebay but the shipping was a bit more. I'm sure it was just how they had to set it up for ebay. As i'm looking at it now, a pipe kit total from main site is $58.42 and from ebay its $59.95. So because of what they probably have to do for ebay, its a good idea to shop between ebay and their main site because different areas could have more of a difference in price. Just what i've found. Still love their products and very happy with them! So I hope no one thinks i'm trying to talk down about them.

I have noticed that sometimes its a hit and miss with them. It took me a few emails for them to get back with me, and then when I fallowed up on another question it took me 2 more times. I'm almost done with my doopy doo's pipe build myself, and i think if you buy from their site it comes out a little cheaper than ebay.

Ya, my thing was I was going to try it unless people said that it just didn't work at all. Or thought that someone might have a few tricks for it so I was just curious. I'll end up trying it and say how it turns out i'm sure. When I pull up the chest it's about as low as matt black's is in his centurion post, so if it stays there after i redo the shoulder straps and everything it will be fine but i figure with electronics in the chest it will pull it forward. So i'll just have to see.

I'm curious, has anyone tried to heat and bend a piece of their armor after painting it? I've tried to look it up through search but came up with absolutely nothing. I would think that while it wouldn't melt the paint completely off, it would probably warp one way or another. I think i may have to cut a little off of the bottom of the chest plate and so add a return edge back on it.

Kinda funny and sad that many times an upgrade will hurt more than make better. The new look is ok with me but its pretty bad that all these little things are messing up.
